((Gonna do an Investigation check to just see how well I mingled with the crew and learned everything about them like I said above, if it isn't Investigation then let me know what to roll. Maybe straight Charmisa? Who knows lol. 16))
Bennett tries to help when he can. He was never much of a sailor himself, preferring to stay on the land. I hate the ocean. Always so quiet and melancholy.
You learn of the certain ropes and knots they use to tie down the sails and cargo. The crew tells you of some basic nautical terms and what they do to pass time on long voyages.
(You all know where the lifeboats are. They're made obvious due to their importance. They're basically small row boats, able to fit 8 people.)
The crew just says that they're normally a free merchant vessel. Their captain does trade with a few cities and keep track of the prices from the places. They make a decent sell without pulling much attention to themselves. Their current cargo is some barrels of wine, boxes of fruits, and some chests of gold for the tax upon the cargo. This is their first time voyaging with a passengers like yourselves and the dragonborn, but was told that the dragonborn paid in platinums, a whole lot of them.
Crispy was having a good time getting to know her companions. One night she told a story, a few drinks in and she was inclined to divulge personal information. She spoke to whoever was near and wanted to listen.
Crispy was born to a mother who was a young waitress in the slums of Waterdeep. One night, she had an affair with a married man who found her irresistible. Unable to resist his charms, they had a one night stand. After that night, Crispy's father went away back to his own family and was never seen again..until Crispy turned 6. Her father was a raging drunk, couldn't hold a job, and was extremely abusive, so he left his wife and moved in with Crispy's mother forcing his way back into her life. From the ages of 6 to about 12 Crispy's mother did her best to try and hold a job herself and keep our broken family together, but body and soul only can take so much, so one night Crispy's mother took her and dropped her off at a Temple on the other side of Waterdeep and ran away. That was the last time she ever saw her mother. Crispy was filled with fear, anger, mistrust, and ignorance, and attempted to run away multiple times. Lost and weak, she was like a wild animal, barely able to read or write, let alone take care of herself, but she learned quickly, for one night she did escape and started to live on the streets until she turned 15. This was when a turn of fate changed her life forever.
In addition to also helping out around the ship, and spending as much personal time with Ashley as she could, Crispy spends her time mingling with her companions and observing the crew. A couple times she helped out with the meals, as that's what some of her companions were doing and thought she might as well pull her weight too. Occasionally, she would be seen staring out to the horizon, with a slight smile on her face. At night before bed, she would look up at the stars in silent contemplation. Because she spent so much time outside, the sun was good to her, and she was able to maintain her tan that she was proud of. She would pass by and smile at Hatt, or talk about the military with Bennett, or try and distract Gasp and Karra so they wouldn't feel so sick.
Crispy took her pills, and much to her surprise and delight, didn't have any sleep terrors while on the ship, as if the connection to whatever evil was tormenting her was severed for a few days. Because of this, she looked and acted happier, warmer, stronger, and more vibrant. She tried to behave herself, but had a good time with the crew, acting as they would - she certainly knew how to have a good time, laughing and joking around. In the mornings she shares with Ashley her exercise routine, comparing moves and techniques, and sometimes exercising together.
However, she was anxious to get on with the mission, yet sad that the personal time she was sharing with everyone, especially Ashley, would come to an end and then it was back to business.
Ashley continues to spend most of her time below decks. Perhaps its the empty blue void that makes her ill. Never ending . She works with the crew to treat any injury's they may occur, putting her trade to use. As part of her morning routine with Crispy, she teaches her companion a few simple prayers to Lathander that help her stay calm and focused. She tries to teach Crispy with out being pushy, simply wanting to share what she has learned in The MorningLord's service.

One day she asks her out of curiosity, “What does this..Morninglord teach you?” All her life, Crispy had been wild, untamed, and feral. She didnt want to be this way, and her inquisitive nature caused her to watch Ashley as she pray those mornings. It took years of military training just to civilize her. But Ash..always seemed..so calm. Maybe, Cora, you could..learn something spiritual from her? To help you keep the beast at bay. Tamed.
It's nice to talk to Crispy and Ashley about the military. It reminds me of the old days when I could talk to people in my unit. I miss the military... well... some aspects of it. Bennett thinks one night as he gets ready for bed.
Sahuagin come up and try to drag the castaways down, a few scream out but die as they're stabbed with their spears. They drag their bodies down into the sea's depths. The sea returns to a peaceful quiet as the fires eventually die down. Some of the crew shake their head and toss a copper into the sea.
Another four days, it's been peaceful upon the sea. It's still early morning as some of the crew walk the deck, Ominak is seen near the helm and the captain is in her quarters. Off in the distance, you see a ship. It seems to be following the ship but is gaining speed somehow.
Well, Lathandar is all about renewal and beginnings. For me it manifests as patience, understanding and forgiveness. It's not always easy, but those are the lessons that i learned. Knowing the bad things will eventually pass and the good things start again is a comfort to me. Ashley does her best to share her belief with Crispy hoeing she can take , at least a little bit, some of what she learned and grow.

Hatt was below in the galley and didn't see the shipwrecked sailors, but heard about their grizzly fate later on from overhearing the sailors talk. On the deck, he says a prayer for their souls and, imitating the crew, throws a copper into the sea.
(At some point over the next four days, Hatt will carefully choose a moment when the cook steps out of the galley to bring food to the crew, and he's left alone there. He casts Detect Magic. He will then walk to the area where the crew, including Bennett, are eating, and look him over to see if the two auras are still there. As the spell lasts 10 minutes, he will try to do this at a time when Ominak is up on deck, assuming he follows a regular daily routine, and take a look at the dragonborn for anything unusual. He's also looking for anything magical in or on the ship.)
After hearing Ashley’s description, she gets sad. “What’s going to happen when you realize.. I dont have any of those qualities?” She looked off into the distance and thats when the attack came. Her head jerked in the direction to the nearest disturbance and rolled to her feet drawing her blades. It took her a moment to process what was happening, and it was over as soon as it began. She stood at the edge of the ship, looking at the water, and closed her eyes. When she opened them, thats when she saw the other ship.
After two days on the sea, the weather still holds and it's been a pretty easy ride. While the wind was not in your favor, the sea was, not offering any resistance as you traverse your way to Savasst. It's midday and off in the distance, you see a few dying fires and some castaways drifting on debris. The crew doesn't seem to care, not wanting to change their course. A few do mention it to the captain, who shrugs it off. Ominak hasn't really shown himself besides to take meals to his room and spend some time during the morning outside.
(Honestly surprised no one chose to go help them.)

You see that the aura is still there but it's considerably smaller on Bennett. While you check Ominak, you see that he has two auras as well. A large on covering him and a small one, similar to Bennett. But this one seems constrained, something is making it smaller than it is. You don't spot anything else magical on or in the ship except for your companions and the dragonborn.

(Ashley probovly wouldn't have seen them. And she can't swim) Ashley replies to Crispy It's not about already having those qualities. It's , for me at least, gaining and perfecting them. She leans upwards to kiss Crispy in the cheek. lathander represents renewal and new beginnings, if that helps explain a little. It would about at this moment when Crispy wheels about to investigate to commotion of the castaways.
Crispy turns away from the sea, she is a bit frustrated she wasnt able to save anyone, but sometimes attacks and ambushes are like that. She slows her heartbeat down, takes a look at Ashley to make sure she’s ok, and sits back down again. She sighs wearily, hating herself for her curse, and the beaat inside so eager to show itself. Shr tries her best to imitate Ashley and her words, thankful she offered to have Crispy be a part of her morning ritual.
“Im afraid I dont have much to offer to show you..not..spiritually, at least.” she said while she watched and listened.
Ashley puts in a Stearn face and looks completely offended. If I wanted to be with some one spiritual I would have found some stuffy priest to chant prayers with and not a ravishing rogue with a wild streak the size of Waterdeep. After a moment Ashley burst out laughing Ahahaha, you should see the look on your face.

Crispy’s eyes were large like dinner plates and she stiffened, the last thing she wanted to do was to offend such an affectionate and sexy woman. When Ashley laughed, she visibly deflated and relaxed, laughing at her sense of humor. She wrapped her arm around her neck, and pulled her in close, and got her in a sorta playful headlock. “Ohoho! You got mmeee!” she sang loudly, laughing, and she squeezed a little harder, kissing her on the top of her head.

(Feel like I missed something somewhere)
Karra peers over the edge on his tiptoes, seeing the sahuagin. "This... normal thing?" He asks.
During the first few days, Gasp spends most of his time by the edge of the ship horribly, horribly seasick.
After hearing Ashley’s description, she gets sad. “What’s going to happen when you realize.. I dont have any of those qualities?” She looked off into the distance and thats when the attack came.
