Bennett and Gasp arrive to the tower to see various people going about in robes, carrying around books and staves. You see a few of them practicing basic spells or just conversing among each other. Some are at desks writing away in tomes. A dragonborn spots you two and heads towards you. She gives a bow, "Hello, are you here to deliver something? If so, we actually handle the deliveries at the royal vault. But I'll happily take it off your hands to spare the both of you the trip there." She says.

Bennett nods and smiles, "We are actually here to see Ominak. My friend and I are couriers."

We do have your share with us, yes; Hatt says to Crispy and Ashley in a low voice, trying not to be overheard.  Bennett and Gasp went off without telling us where they were going.  And I absolutely agree that we should save any further discussion of that and other matters until we are far away from here.  He indicates the route to the exit: After you.

"Hmm, perhaps distraction before we leave, yes?" Karra suggests to Hatt. "Others know the danger here, can meet them outside. Can always say we have gone on quick supply run and be back, yes?"

Crispy turned to Ashley. “Come on. I think we should wait outside. I dont think the others were singled out, and the guard is expecting us to leave. Hatt? You coming?”

Gasp trudges onward with Bennett, ready to just get this over with. The Kenku can't help but roll his eyes as they are stopped. These people and their bureaucracy are insufferable. Still, he has to play along for now. So Gasp just nods and mimics one of the attendants from the palace "Master Opsola..."

Yup.  Hatt manages to maintain a proper walking speed so as not to attract attention, but would be quite happy to run out of this place and never look back.  Karra, if you want to leave some false information, that's up to you.  Hatt winces internally at the thought of lying, or even endorsing a lie by a friend, but defers to Karra's judgement on matters of sneakiness.

Once the three are outside, Crispy looks down to Hatt once theyre a safe distance, hands on her hips. “Alright, short round. What is going on? Ashley and I have been relaxing and i’m a little out of the loop.”

Karra decides since they weren't stopped to do any sort of trickery, leaving with the other three. He seems a little annoyed that Crispy and Ashley seem to ignore his existance, but isn't too fussed. He keeps a look out for anything else that might be amiss while they discuss and put some ground between them and the 'spa'.

Now that we are out of that place, may I see some of the money we were paid with? Ashley adressesboth Hatt and Karra not knowing who had her share. When she has been given her cut she will notice the weight disparity and ritual cast Detect Magic on the coins. Let's see what we can learn. I dont trust Ominak right now.

Karra looks to Hatt, seeming to see if they are indicating the pile he placed within his bag. If Hatt does, then he'll get it out.

Hatt nods to Karra, and when he gets his bundle, he extracts a handful of platinum coins, passes them to Ashley, and very quickly bundles up the pile and gives it back to Karra for safe keeping.  Thank you, he says to Karra while trying to stand in a way that blocks passers-by from seeing what's happening. 

Moments later, Hatt looks up in alarm as Ashley begins to cast the spell.  Please be careful, we don't know what is and isn't allowed here.  Maybe we could find a tavern and do this in one of the rooms there?

(@DM:  Where are we standing?  I imagine it as a kind of main street - are there any taverns?  If not, Hatt will ask a local for the location of a good inn nearby.)

Karra wouldn't just produce such a princely sum in the middle of the street, so assuming somewhere like a quiet side street or alcove.

Crispy, getting more and more annoyed with her ignorance, gives Hatt and Karra an impatient stare, but waits for Ashley's magic results.

The dragonborn eyes widen as you mention Opsola, "Ah, Master Opsola's couriers! Yes, yes, he told us to expect two of you but we didn't get have any come in yesterday so we assumed something happened. Opsola shall be pleased to see that it was just a delay. Go ahead and head up, he'll be on the top floor. Just knock on his door."

(I'm assuming you guys wanted out of the palace grounds so you'll be near the main street in an alleyway.)

The coins show a green aura around them and nothing else.

At the upper floors of the tower, as you approach the door at the top, you hear voices. 

Ashley scrunched her nose a bit.Hmmm, the coin seems legitimate enough. There is a green aura on them, but I cant detect any illusions or other trickery magic. Let's try and spend some of these coins and see how they hold up to a shopkeepers scrutiny. When they get a more private spot, Ashley will take her share from Karra and Hatt.

"Hmm, maybe find quiet tavern room." Karra says, then looks to Crispy. "Then we talk about what happen, yes?" He gives her a slight smile.

”Could you hold my share?“ Crispy asked Ashley, “I don’t have any pockets. Oh duh I have my backpack, nevermind.”  Then Karra spoke, and she nodded in agreement and followed them.

Karra would like to find a quiet looking tavern where they can hire a back room for a short period.

Crispy will pay for it since she is a girl without a clue.
