Bennett wipes away a tear and smiles, "Congratulations, you two!" He starts to clap awkwardly. (Any one else just clap when they're nervous or when they're overly excited? Bennett does that.)
Hatt watches the ceremony enraptured; he thinks of all the weddings he has attended, with his cousins and siblings, over the years. He had even officiated a few, when they had been on the road - it had been so important then to have hope for the future, and a feeling that things might get better. Hope for the future, he thinks to himself and smiles, that's what this is, for sure. I hope they'll be okay together, and somehow, I think they will be. He's startled out of his reverie by Bennett's clapping, but after a moment, he joins in the unfamiliar gesture, clapping enthusiastically, thinking this must be how things are done in Cresthall.
The display is one mostly unfamiliar to Gasp. Sure, his kind had their own bonds, but nothing quite so ceremonial. It's sweet, though! They may not have known each other for that long, but Gasp hopes deep down in his bird heart that the two will stay together and make it work! "Congratulations, you two!" he mimics Bennett. Gasp then mimics the sound of both Bennett and Hatt clapping.
Crispy turns her head and gives each and everyone a laugh and nod of thanks while enjoying the moment of nuzzling her wife - holding her hand tightly. It would be the first time anyone would ask Cora to marry her, and now Ashley meant so much more to her. The urge to grab her, lift her over her shoulder, and do horrible things to her in bed crossed her mind, but she waited just a bit more to enjoy the moment.
Ashley basks in the glow of the morning light, surrounded by her friends and her new wife. It seemed odd to be married so soon, but it felt right to her. She loved Cora, and never wanted to part from her. She held on tight and smiled. She wanted this joy she shared with them all to last as long as possible.
Thank you all for coming this morning. I uh, wasn't sure this was going to go as planned. Ashley surveys the group. So, in light of recent events, i say we go back to the Inn, order a lot of food for the whole place, and then discuss our plans.
"That sounds great." Crispy said. "All of this was truly amazing and beautiful, Ash. I'll never forget it." You can tell with the look on her face she meant every word.
Karra nods. "Hmm, union of two have celebration, yes?" He thinks to himself that he should prepare a gift of some sort, perhaps a couple of rubies will suffice for them.
A wedding breakfast, says Hatt enthusiastically to Karra - a true halfling, he could always manage a second breakfast if the situation demanded it. To the inn, then? And if the others agree, he will join them in heading back to the inn.
Lets feast while we wait for Bennett and Gasps rings to be finished. Ashley says with much enthusiasm, her heart still beating a mile a minute from the exhilaration of the success of her wedding plan.

Crispy grabs Ashley, and carries her, while laughing, to the inn. She boops her nose with her own nose and just laughs. It felt good. The whole thing felt good, and she never wanted it to end.
(I guess after a short walk, we all arrive back at the inn and settle down in the same private backroom as before, ready for breakfast and conversation?)
As they all arrive at the inn, Hatt speaks to the innkeeper and if necessary pays for the same private room, for their use until midday. He orders a substantial breakfast, though checking if any of the others have already eaten and won't want to eat (because some bigfolk can be silly and do not understand food). Assuming everyone stays together, they sit down as a group and enjoy the meal and some relaxed conversation, before matters turn more serious.
We've been talking, here and there, about what to do next. The most popular idea so far, or so it seems to me, is that we wait, allow Bennett and Gasp to receive the rings that will protect them from the curse, and then leave the city. Is that what everyone wants to do? What other choices are there?
I'd like to complete Opsala's task while we wait. It seems somewhat important as and we might aswell do something instead of nothing while the rings are being prepared. Ashley speaks in between bites as not to be rude. She is still in a slightly awed state at her new found marrige.

Sounds good to me.
(Yep. Time to move on to the next story point. Or we could go on a killing spree. No, probably not the latter.)
