Some of the groups there retire for the night while others stay up, conversing with others or are being mended by the members there. While the monks still remain vigilant, they trade out every now and then to rest or to partake in the lessons going on upstairs. The members that have finished doing what they can mostly leave and check on the other members, seeing if they need help or need anything. For food the members of the church mostly bring down bread and water.

The dragonborn charges forward, bring her sword down on the triton on the right. Yet she sees her mistake as her sword meets no resistance and the triton she cut at seems unfazed then gone. While the other takes that opportunity to strike. She strikes deep into the side of the dragonborn and even her flourish hurts more as she clears the blood off her rapier. It splatters on the sands as they both size each other up. The dragonborn is hurt but is still dangerous to the triton. Another flurry of attacks from her will certainly obtain stop the triton, yet the triton may hold more tricks up her sleeve.
Is there any period of time there are no monks who can take a nat20 punch and brush it off like it was nothing on the third floor so i can walk up there and try and peek in some doors?
(It will use a couple of spell slots for helping them unless you just want to aid with medicine. If so, please roll. And each time they trade out there is a period of no monks watching the common room. You don't know what's going on upstairs.)

The dragonborn does a final charge. putting everything on the line as the triton readies herself as well. Yet she wasn't prepared for the five swings at her coming all at once. Though she manages to block the first two strikes, the other three connect and wound her deeply. The final one knocking her down to her feet. She holds up a hand as the dragonborn stops herself from delivering a fatal blow.
"And there you have it folks, she might have lost that earlier gamble but holding onto that last surge of adrenaline has won her that fight. The songstress has conceded and the lucky winner, Lady Kisra, has won the large pot of 400 gold. While those that bet on her find that their pockets won't get that gold back. And the next fight shall be a fight of religion, Torm's Hand, fights against Tempus' Blade."
While there's no monks in the common room, is there anything in there that would tell me where Myra's room is? And if not, then i'll casually go upstairs and start checking doors.
(You're at the basement, there's nothing but cots and people.)
The cathedral is mostly empty, the only thing that shows that it's still occupied are the torches lit upstairs and a few going through the garden and the 2nd floor. You peer up the stairs and don't find the same monk you sucker punched but a pair of monks. A small wood elf girl next to a tall half orc. They both wear similar robes to the monk you met before but are not as scarred or rough looking as the man.
(Noted, 3 spell slots used and there's no unused robes at either basement, 1st , or 2nd floor. Remember they said their dorms are on the third floor.)

(Quick question, do you guys just want to bot the gladiators or would you guys just want to keep cheering? I don't like critting myself this many times.)
((I'm okay with you just simulating the fights and just summarizing. Hatt, Gasp, and I will chirp in for each fight in a single post if we need to. Whatever keeps the story moving.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: Agreed. We're just killing time until Ashley and Crispy do their thing. Unless we can think of anything else to do.)
Hatt scans the crowd. Is there anyone interesting watching the entertainment? Anyone we've met, like Sargt or Lord Whatisname? What about anyone from the Cathedral? Perception17
You do spot Lord Niyra across the arena in a private booth. He has the two guards with him as well along with the attendant girl. He appears to be studying the fight as he hasn't really cheered for anyone. And you do remember seeing someone with a similar build to Sargt outside the arena. You couldn't get a good look at their face as they jogged off to one of the pavilions.

"At the shield gate, we have Galian Bronze, a devout to Torm. To pay off a debt to his benefactor, he fights here today. Let us see if he can face off the veteran mercenary of the last war."
A man enters the arena, a robe with a white gauntlet hand over his chainmail. He holds a shield in one hand as he raises his mace in his other. He shimmers for a moment as he raises his shield, readying himself for battle.
"At the sword gate, we have Shukar, a paladin of Tempus. As I said before, a mercenary that fought against the savage tribes from the south. Yet the only difference between them is that she'll do it for coin and he'll do it for a righteous cause. Let's see who's faith is stronger."
A half orc in full plate armor enters the arena. She holds a greatsword in one hand as she bangs her chestplate, chanting. As she does, her armor starts to whiten, ice starting to edge upon her armor. When she stops, her armor is coated with a layer of ice as it crackles in the desert air.
Hatt points these people out to Bennett. Do you think we should go and speak to Lord Niyra? He might be surprised to see us, and let something slip because he hasn't had time to prepare what he's going to say.
Bennett studies Niyra's body language. "I don't think he'd be willing to talk to us. He looks pretty focused on the fighting. Maybe he bet big on of these competitors?"
The fighters start off with an different first move. They both meet each other at the center and shake hands then step back, readying their weapons. The cleric goes first as he comes in with his mace, radiating with holy power as it strikes the paladin. The paladin's layer of frost breaks upon impact, sending shards towards the cleric. He tries to block most of it but also blocks his view of the paladin as she lifts her sword up. She slashes at the cleric, her blade flames up with white fire as it hits the cleric, remnants of fire cling to the cleric.
The sisters thank Ashley for her assistance as they help the last of the wounded to bed. They do tell her that most of the injured or sick is due to adventurers and the desperate trying to help against the thri-keen. They describe the thri-kreen as humanoids ants. They roam the outer deserts in great numbers and if left alone they won't bother the city. Yet something has drove to them to attack travelers, even started to attack the guards near and on the wall. While the guards remain a tight watch on the city, as the ants can turn invisible, they're asking for people to head out in the desert and see if they can figure out what's causing this rather sudden outburst from them.

The cleric goes on the defense as he lowers his mace and raises his shield. The paladin doesn't relent as she continues to batter at him. Both blows blocked by the shield. Yet she doesn't see the mace materialize behind her and strikes at her back.
You come around the crowd and see that it's less populated and has more servers than the few vendors in the crowd. But instead of fish on the stick, there is steaks, turkey legs, and some salads with exotic fruits. But as you approach Lord Niyra's booth, you're stopped by a arena worker, "Sorry, but I don't recognize you...are you a guest of one our patrons?" before you could answer, one of Lord Niyra's men pats the man's shoulder. "Um...me know person. Mr.Niyra know person." The worker looks to argue but shakes his head, "Apologies sir, I didn't mean to offend you." The worker gives a bow to you.

Hatt realises that he's cheering for the triton, though he's not quite sure why.
