With three more raptors trying to make a meal of him, Atax’s only action is to fight until his last.
Bonus action hungry jaws: To hit the alpha 22, if it hits it will do 7 and Atax gains 3 temporary hit points.
Atax lunges forward and snapped his jaws onto the alphas neck tearing out a sizable divot of flesh. With his knife still held underhand he switches it over to his uninjured arm that the alpha hasn’t ravaged. He brings his knife up and tries to jab it up under the jaw and into its brain of the raptor next to the alpha.
Action: To hit 19 if it hits, it will do 9 damage
Action: Atax takes action surge.
After Atax attacks both of those raptors he turns to the last one hoping to scare off the now injured raptors by nearly killing all of them. He withdraws the knife from the raptor and swings it back around on the last raptor.
(Assuming Euphemia's turn shouldn't affect Silvana's going to go ahead...)
Silvana peers between several of the large leaves of the tree she is hiding in and takes in a sharp gasp. She sees the thing in the water (Perception 14), she quickly looks around for the swimming humanoid, the reason they came this way in the first place. Seeing him, it doesn't appear the finned creature has noticed him.. for now. She looks over to where the lizardman was and seeing he was still surrounded by raptors. She finds herself smiling as she notices one is stunned. Nice job she thinks to herself as she notches another arrow and sends it after one that isn't stunned, leaving that one for Atax.

Looking back at the finned dinosaur, she creeps back to the crutch of the tree, hoping the leaves will continue to hide her.
Watching a living natural disaster rush by him was fun. He'd reeeeally like to stay and watch the carnage that's about to unfold, but Korinth ultimately decides there's a time and a place. He quickly, but not so quietly pulls himself to the west bank of the river.
He'd like to meet with the others, maybe congratulate the green one for winning the race. But given what he's just seen, he's not planning to reenter this part of the river any time soon. Taking a moment to assess his surroundings, the sole ranger quickly slips into the brush. He'll have to sneak through the undergrowth, pushing northward, to the vine he and the Goblin had tied across the water. From there, well...

(Kinda) EVERYONE
The alpha screams an enraged cry as another of its packmates falls to an arrow from afar. It seeks to take vengeance against its surprisingly well-armed prey with another bite out of Atax.
Alpha Bite Attack: 9 Damage: 11 piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
The other raptor near Atax croons as it takes a few stumbling steps away from him, obviously dazed by the lizardfolk's blow. It stumbles backwards towards the river, and unfortunately for it, right into waiting jaws of the spinosaurus. The terrifyingly large dinosaur scoops up the raptor in one bite, and the raptor lets out one final, pitiful squeak as the spinosaurus clamps down upon it. Now, everyone with the exception of Euphemia can see the beast. It notices Atax and the alpha, but it doesn't spot Silvana up in the trees.
The alpha notices the arrival of a rival predator, and it cringes and squeals in fright as the spinosaurus lackadaisically munches on its packmate.
SHIN
The raptor pursuing the Shin tracks the goblin's movement as he dives into some cover. Still slowed, it charges after Shin, and the goblin finds the raptor about to leap upon him when he turns around!
(Cold raptor moves and then dashes)
KORINTH
Sneaking along the other riverbank, Korrinth spots the vine rope up ahead. He should get there in a few moments.
"Clever girl," Shin smiles almost fondly up at the raptor who found his hiding spot and dashed to get there.
Almost without thinking, the goblin jukes in one direction, then scurries away laterally (Nimble Escape) and back into the clearing where he had first met the others, and where, he assumes, Euphemia is still up a tree.Pinky-toe dive bombs the pursuing raptor once more, flapping her wings in the reptile's face (help action) before gliding back to the treetops using her 60' fly speed and Flyby to avoid an opportunity attack.
"Mademoiselle halfling. I should warn you, Pinky-toe spotted a much larger, seemingly aquatic but perhaps versatile reptile, emerging out of the river with considerable ferocity," Shin speaks without glancing up at Euphemia (not giving away her position, and not knowing that she too has seen it).
"Thus far, it has consumed more than one of these raptors, though not yet any humanoids. I do not wish to be the first. You, with your impressive beast-charming magic, may have different plans. Your previous attempt with the raptor was quite impressive, despite our wasting it for you."
With that, Shin turns and blasts the pursuing raptor in the face once more with his Ray of Frost.
Bonus Action: ShinDisengages from raptor using goblins' Nimble Escape.
Movement: Shin continues to move back and laterally into the clearing by the cliff (in plain sight of Euphemia and raptor , but NOT visible to those by the river, including the scary river monster), moving 40' thanks to Bladesong. So now 45' from raptor instead of 5'.
Action: Ray of Frost to hit (with advantage due to help from Pinky-toe): 26 (Natural 20) Ray of Frost crit damage: 5 cold damage (ouch, low roll, but should be enough to finish it, I think). Ray of Frost - reduces movement by 10' in case the raptor is still up, same as last turn.
After wounding the raptors, a massive reptile bursts out of the river and brings its jaws down on the stunned raptor. Atax stares up in surprise and a bit of horror as the predator shreds the smaller reptile between its teeth. Blood droplets rain down over the surrounding area. Atax dodges the alpha, which is surprisingly easier than he thought it would be and runs back toward the first area where they hid from the raptors the first time. Action: disengage
Movement: 30 ft back, but veered away from the rest of his companions.
Silvana watches as Atax gets away from the remaining raptor, then looks up towards the behemoth that is enjoying his or her meal of raptors. Holding her bow tightly, she burrows herself further in the leaves of the tree and waits for this creature to hopefully continue on up the river.
Ah. Korinth emerges from the thicket to find his makeshift "ferry" still bound taut. It'll come in handy later, most certainly! He quickly crosses the narrow run, eager to avoid the river for the time being. His eye soon catches the telltale signs of the goblins' previous departure. Hedging his bets, he quietly drops into an animalistic crouch and begins following the trail, taking his time to do so as quietly as possible. Who knows, he muses, maybe the little guy will prove warmer company on colder nights than expecting. Stranger things have happened today...
Ha! He quickly catches his voice, his internal laughter almost breaking his cover. That'd be a lark! He continues his silent crawl, a wide grin leading his way.
With its entire pack decimate in less than thirty seconds, the alpha lets out a squeak, and then it turns and flees to the south. The spinosaurus lets out a roar as the alpha scurries past it, and it gives chase. Soon, the only sign of the fleeing dinos is the sound of branches snapping and small trees toppling as they disappear into the jungle. Hopefully, you never meet the spinosaurus again.
Well, it looks like (most) of you survived your first real encounter here in the jungle, though you have a feeling things aren’t going to get much easier.
Euphemia, playing her warbling melody, scans the trees of the jungle from her vantage point, and sees the great bowing of the trees, like in a wave, and realizes... something much bigger has joined the party. She feels a knot of fear spike into her stomach, and she stays rooted to the tree branch, but her trembling fingers continue to play...
Then she sees the goblin running towards her, with a raptor in hot pursuit, yelling out to her and confirming what she saw. She stops playing for a moment, dropping the chanter from her lips. A bigger one? Oh, Archpaladin... but a sudden thrill of boldness shoots itself into her limbs. Not to be tooting me own horn, but if I don't remember a wee thing of what I could do, who's to say I couldn't woo a bigger critter with these old pipes? And then Shin throws a bolt of magic into the raptor's face, and it goes down. This fellow isn't too far off himself, now is he? Euphemia smiles, and calls out to the goblin. "Well, I can sure give it a try."
And she resumes playing the bagpipes... louder and more forcibly this time, a triumphant tune of the march, with little screech-like tones thrown in that imitate the raptors' calls.
By the Invincible, I hope I don't get us all eaten...
Panting a little, but still moving quickly, Shin glances up at Pinky-toe, who confirms that the final raptor and larger predator are headed elsewhere.
That song again. The strange, warbling wind instrument, harmonic dissonance resolving into the sublime and back again. So unlike my song...
His gaze shifts to Euphemia and his smile falters a little as he realizes that the halfling may have taken him seriously. Or perhaps hasn't, but decided to charm the larger dinosaur anyway. That or perish trying?
He suddenly has a flash of returning memory. A tale his master told him of a colleague whose Suggestion spell was resisted by the Frost Giant he cast it on, resulting in the mage's physical height being abruptly (and terminally) reduced from six feet to six inches under the giant's fist. Well, one can only hope that lady halfling and I are too small a morsel for that bigger one, though the smaller raptors had no hesitation tearing the other halfling limb from limb.
Asking Pinky-toe to keep watch for approaching friends and foes alike, Shin has his Mage Hand hold the Healer's Kit he had found in case someone needs it. Perhaps the towering lizardfolk who charged into the fray.
The goblin then begins inspecting the body of the raptor he had slain, attempting to identify whether he can craft a dagger from harvesting one of its claws.
Unfortunately, Shin is so desperately unfamiliar with the nature and physiology of these strange feathered reptiles that he does not know where to start.
As Shin investigates the corpses of the raptors, he notices several body parts that could be reappropriated into useful tools down the road, though he's not quite sure how to make them into such. Around this time, Korinth stealthily makes his way to the clearing near the cliff where Shin and Euphemia are gathered. Back at the river, the jungle is mostly quiet after the clash of dinosaurs. Atax and Silvanna don't notice anything of import near the river.
Silvana first takes a look closer at the tree she is hiding in, seeing if there is anything decent to eat or gather..
Perception: 22 (If that should be survival, add 2)
She then climbs her way back down the tree and over to the raptors that she downed to see if any of her arrows can be retrieved. Once checked over, she slowly heads over to where Atax and the goblin ran off, hoping there would be safety in numbers. A chill runs down her back as she thinks back to that spined monstrosity.
Pinky-toe continues to keep watch for possible encroaching enemies and apparently approaching friends, communicating telepathically to Shin.
Pinky-toe'sPerception with advantage due to Keen Hearing and Sight: 22
"Perhaps charming the larger reptile will have to wait until next time, Euphemia? Unless your beast friendship magic works at long range. Or even better, perhaps there will be no next time, though I doubt we shall be so fortunate. That wind instrument you bear - I have never heard it's like. Quite dissimilar to my bladesong, yet all songs have their own beauty and power, or so my elven mentor once declared. Then again, he may have reconsidered making such an absolute statement had he listened to my erstwhile fellow adventurers howling out their drunken ballads at the local tavern."
As he receives his owl familiar's telepathic all clear, the goblin continues conversationally.
"Ah, the others return, though sadly not your fellow halfling who, I believe, walked himself into a raptor's jaws. I think I see the light-footed tabaxi. Perhaps even the acerbic aquatic humanoid will join us. I hope one of them can harvest useful parts from this partially-frozen raptor corpse. And then we, to the extent we are a 'we', should begin discussing shelter, drinkable water and food."

SILVANA
Rummaging around the tree she's climbed, Silvana spots several clusters of a ridge-like fungus of a slate grey color sprouting from the tree at the base of several branches. It looks vaguely familiar to her for some reason, and she's able to gather 3 pounds of the fungus. As she pries if from the tree, it releases an almost citrus scent into the air. She recalls munching on this type of fungus on a few scouting trips. It is edible, but it's rather bland and rubbery.
After climbing down from the tree, she's able to salvage half of the arrows she shot during her skirmish with the raptors. Even though the fighting died down only a few minutes ago, scavengers are already attracted to the scent of the raptor's freshly spilt blood. Flies and a few other iridescent insects flit about the blood oozing from the raptors, and a few of those birds that bothered Euphemia from before swoop down from the canopy and start munching on corpses littered about the riverbank. Looking closer, Silvana realizes that those birds actually resemble those raptors more than actual birds. Although covered in feathers, they are distinctly reptilian in build and in appearance.
Euphemia pauses in her playing as the goblin begins speaking to her again. The distant crashing of foliage confirms his words---the predators are on the run. The apprehension and adrenaline that had fueled her purpose but a moment ago drains out of her all at once, and she catches herself on the branch on which she sits as her muscles go weak. "Ah, they're gone, are they? Well, that's a relief. I don't suppose we'll have a respite for long though, eh?" Slinging the bagpipes back over her shoulder, the halfling clambers down out of the tree, dropping down next to the goblin.
Euphemia looks him over. Aye, a goblin all right. Can't say as I ever met a scholar and a goblin in the same person...then she blinks. Have I? Searching her memory for the source of the certainty of her thought, all she comes up with is unpleasant memories of brutish little green fellows with swords, spears, and crossbows. Rather the scourge of civilized folk. But there's humans and dwarves a plenty of whom I'd say just the same, she muses, scourge of civilized folk. Stands to reason there might be goblins who aren't brutes, just as there's dwarves and men of noble make and virtue.
But she still doesn't know of what sort of folk this land even consists. "I'm glad you like me pipes," she says to the goblin. "I don't remember much myself, but I'm remembering to be fond of 'em for sure. But, ah... what's all this about 'we'? You keep on about that, but who are you? Who are these folk you've met up with? Who's the cat and the lizard? Is there a town here nearby? Who's the king of these parts? Are your people at peace with mine? Have I even got people---well, I must've, there was Donnyl, rest his weary soul, poor chap."And, I know we were of the same kin. He sure knew the song I was playing. She sighs. "You're right that we'll go his way if we don't start makin' some kind of plan. Still, I need to know who you are... and what's the state of things around here." As much as she'd like to go looking for a hidden spot and some food, she waits for Shin's answer to her questions.
As Korinth slowly approaches the edge of the treeline, he recognizes the green one. Another figure sits in tree, conversing with him from a high perch. He's eager to introduce himself, but pauses when he notices the absence of other figures he'd seen at the river's edge. Caution wins over curiosity and he remains on all fours, crouched beneath the brush.
The beautiful feathers of the birds catch Silvana's attention and she pauses to watch them a moment as they scavenge. Thinking to the predators and who knows what else she might run into, those feathers could come into good use...
Notching another of her arrows, she let's one fly towards one of the birds that is busy eating it's fill. (I'm hoping with that distraction, she'd have advantage for sneak attack?)
Silvana's arrow slices through the air and impales one of the predatory birds, the force of the strike throwing it backwards and pinning it to a nearby tree trunk. It's companions fly away in a burst of frightened squawks. The one Silvana impaled squawks feebly and convulses a few times before death claims it. Looks like you got some extra meat, a few feathers, and some clout.

Euphemia looks him over. Aye, a goblin all right. Can't say as I ever met a scholar and a goblin in the same person... then she blinks.
Have I even got people---well, I must've, there was Donnyl, rest his weary soul, poor chap." And, I know we were of the same kin.

SILVANA
Silvana's arrow slices through the air and impales one of the predatory birds, the force of the strike throwing it backwards and pinning it to a nearby tree trunk. It's companions fly away in a burst of frightened squawks. The one Silvana impaled squawks feebly and convulses a few times before death claims it. Looks like you got some extra meat, a few feathers, and some clout.
