A marble sarcophagus, easily nine feet long, lies in the room’s center. The coffin is carved with dragon imagery, and the head of the sarcophagus resembles a dragon’s head. Rusting iron clasps firmly lock down the lid.
With a little help PORTIA finds a trap door in the floor.
(20 is what was needed. Map is updated showing a red square where the trap in the floor was found.)
"I was wondering if that trap door opened that sarcophagus, it doesn't seem to but either way maybe we should look into this trap door before we start messing with the sarcophagus itself. I wouldn't want to go to all the trouble of opening that to then have some more monsters like the one we just saw appear out of the door we already knew about."
Aye, I'm inclined to agree with you, if'n sumthings behind that door then I'd rather deal with it before we have to deal with whatever is in da sarcophagus.
(OOC-It is good that the trap door wasn't trapped. How ironic!)
XANTH simply lifts the loose but snuggly fitted flag stone. From the light on his glaive he sees what looks like a 3 foot by 3 foot tunnel that goes out about ten feet south and turns to the east. This very narrow tunnel would be more comfortable to PORTIA, or GLYNT, or ERKY, than to either XANTH or RAGDOR.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Glynt will say "this looks very narrow big guy, I got this" and puts down his bow and pulls out a dagger and sneaks down the corridor, stopping at the corner to describe what he sees to the others (map updated).
GLYNT carefully traverses the narrow tunnel until it turns up to what looks like a flagstone. The Gnome Bard does not detect a trap. He pops open a previously undetected trapdoor. He finds himself in the secret room on the other side of the pit.
(MAP UPDATED! I moved Glynt's token to the end point.)
Glynt returns down the tunnel and lets the party know "it's a narrow tunnel that leads to the other secret room that we found, unless we want Bones to come through and join us we should decide if we should close the trapdoor if we are going to open the sarcophagus. If it's open it will be handy if the smaller people need to run away, but on the other side if something is in there and it wants to run away that would give it a chance to escape without risking jumping the pit."

When Glynt and Portia makes it over Xanth will aid them in looking the room over.
"We may not need everyone to come over however Ragnar Glynt and Portia would all be helpful. "
Portia will cross to investigate (using her rope and whoever is willing to help to make it easy)
Investigation: 10
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
22 (second roll assuming advantage)

Glynt will head over with Portia and help with her Investigation check.

alt roll 7+2=9, as the not so nimble dwarf attempts to join his friends on the other side...
(It was enough.)
Everyone but Bones makes it across the pit.

"That is interesting are we doing anything with the sarcophagus? Have we checked it for traps?"
OOC-Q (question) Does it appear to be a trap door in the floor, or a mechanism that when activated will do something unknown?
A door.

"Alright. Hey Bone, you guard the area till we get back. Now shall we."
Xanth will move to open the trap door.

Glynt has dark vision and is small so will go first if the others want.
Ragdor would like to follow, keeping an eye out for traps...perception roll 7+4 = 11 if needed
Xanth will follow if it keeps going.

Good point - he will check for Traps too...
