You all walk up into the chamber known as Chop's Shop, where Chop would 'entertain' his valued prisoners and where you previously left the Nothic corpse. When you walk into the room, you are greeted with a bizarre and grotesque sight. In the spot where the Nothic's corpse used to be is a writhing purple mass. The smell in the room has changed to a static metallic ferment sort of smell. The purple mass that must have used to be the Nothic is biological in nature and makes a soft squelching sound as it pulsates. Additionally, you all start to get a light headache as you get close to it, like just being close to the strange substance is psionically damaging.
"Best leave it." says Draíocht, clutching his head. "Perhaps we'll learn more about this abomination from those necromancers later to see if this needs be dealt with."
Nice, Amiz repels down the left side of the shaft, the darkness further down is overwhelming. You reach a corridor leading from the shaft that seems heavily used, with many footprints leading away and toward you. Down this shaft are torches hanging from the wall, but the torches have all recently been snuffed out.
You also see another corridor over the other side of the central shaft, it would take a feat of athletics or some clever thinking to get over there. Outside that corridor is a sign written in large goblinoid script. Alsen, who can read goblin, will tell you that the sign reads, "DO NOT ENTER!"
You head down the corridor and cross over a bridge that sits above a pool of water from which you hear strange gurgling noises, you notice that you could potentially climb down the embankment into the pool if you wished to investigate. Otherwise you see over the bridge that the corridor widens out into a room, grander than any other you've seen in the mine. Alsen whispers to you, "I feel a dark presence in this place, perhaps this is the chamber of g'Ruek. Prepare yourselves."
Thelanis feels like going up to Chop's Shop first, but can be persuaded if necessary.

Barring any other objections, he will go back to the shaft, enter the lift and head down.
No lift, when you get back to the shaft you see the remains on an outcropping near the end of the shaft. You’ll need to repel down.
Amiz will hammer in a piton into the ground and ties his rope to it. He then will repel down.
