Alsen seems even more determined now that you're deciding to go back into the Underdark. "This is truly the end of my quest isn't it? We will most likely find The Eaters somewhere down there."
You all head down into the mine again with a new mission. I assume you use your ropes again to repel down. You get to the bottom of the mine, to the west is the tunnel where you fought g'Ruek's reanimated corpse, and to the east is a sign reading something in goblinoid writing that you can't read. Below you the mine opens up into an enormous darkness.
Do you explore the tunnel to the east or go down into the opening to the Underdark?
Draíocht looks down the tunnel to the east. It seems to be carved out differently to the other tunnels in this mine. While the rest have clearly been made with picks and shovels, this tunnel is smoother and more rounded. You hear faint snapping noises coming from the end of the tunnel.
If no one wants to explore this tunnel, we can move downward into the Underdark.
You manage to get to the bottom of the mine shaft where it opens up into a huge cavern. You have just enough rope to drop to the bottom of the cavern and find yourselves splashing into a shallow part of a large underground river. Although you still need torchlight to see properly, you do notice small specks of fluorescent light dotted around the place, as well as a few vines and moss bushes growing through the rock. The smell down here is damp, and the air is cool and still.
According to the map, the best way to go is to follow the river to the northeast. That leads toward the lake, elven camp, and eventually Kholias. If you all go that way it's going to be a few days of travel before you hit any point of interest. Can I get an idea of your marching order, and any activities any of you want to perform while travelling?
And i'll also get a d20 roll for random encounters on your first day of travel. An encounter happens on a 14 or above.
Thelanis will try to take a spot in front, if its possible without being pushy. She begins looking slightly unnerved once it is clear we're going to be spending the night trapped far beneath the ground.

You travel through the Underdark, keeping a lookout as you go. You're able to follow the river northeast, which heads fairly straight in that direction. After what you think is a day of travel, you come to a fork in the stream. This seems like as good place as any to set up camp and discuss your options. While both directions seem fairly similar, Valar get's the feeling as though the right path is calling him. A familiar call, but one he hasn't felt in a while, not since his time in reflection of Helm. While it feels familiar, there is something broken and wrong about it, as though Helm's voice is being strangled by something.
You set up camp for the night to discuss your options. I'll also ask for a d20 roll for a nighttime random encounter. With an encounter occurring on a 14 or above.
The night passes fairly uneventfully, although you do hear strange noises in the night, and you get the feeling you're being watched. Alsen will settle down for the night and look over the map the Kuo-Toa made for you. "Which way do we think The Eaters will be? Now that we have followed this path and come to this forsaken place, I want our mission to be done. No matter the outcome, this will be the end of my mission."
Here's the map again, you've come up from the g'Ruek Mine and are now at the fork in the stream.
[[ Before the long rest, could use 6 spell slots for goodberry (gonna make sure to keep a 2nd level available for nighttime encounters), 5 for the 4 of us plus Alsen's rations. 55 goodberries the following day. ]]
"Necromancers. Weird church. Seems like a likely combination to me." opines Draíocht.
If that's what you want to do you certainly can. I'll wait for confirmation from the others before I advance the story back down into the mine.
Valar nods he is ready to press on
[[ Sounds good to me. And I assume the Kuo-Toa lake Liarona mentioned in on the map the Kuo Toa gave us? ]]

That is the map of the area between here and Kholias.
"I vote for heading down to the Underdark. Does anyone wish to explore the eastern tunnel" says Amiz
Draíocht tries to listen for any sound/smell or see if there's anything he can see down the East tunnel.
Perception; 25
Barring any revelations, he concurs, with Amiz's desire to go down.

Valar nods, "I say head into the underdark, and find the Elf camp.
Thelanis nods, "Yes, Valar, that seems the best idea. One of us should carry a torch as our companions don't need a light source. I guess I'll do it."

Draíocht would either take the lead or rear. (Depends on Amiz's position.) Would be on the lookout for threats throughout.
