"Necromancers and hobgoblins." remarks Draíocht. "How lovely."
He thinks for a moment, "I have to wonder if a temporary alliance with those necromancers might be possible. Get some aid against the hobgoblins, but be ready to fight them when all is done. Or at least until we find the dwarves."
"Let's go down and see what happens. If they attack, then we have our answer." says Amiz.
He will climb down the rope

He waits to see if any wish to join him and then he will head to the bedroom openly and forgoing any stealth. He will have his axe and shield ready should the situation turn hostile.
"Fair." says Draíocht to Thelanis' concerns about such an alliance. He listens to Amiz's words and nods his head to such a course of action. Simple. Direct. Effective. As the leonin heads down the rope he turns to Thelanis and Valar. "I can give you guidance if you wish." Afterwards he'll follow in the footsteps rope-climb of the others.
You all climb down the rope, with Draíocht losing his grip a meter from the cavity, basically falling in and landing on his butt. That amount of noise causes the voices in the next room to stop abruptly.
Amiz walks into the room with axe ready and finds the two figures with their weapons drawn as well. The smaller female is a tiefling with bright green eyes that look at you suspiciously. She seems to be growing funghi and spores that shoot out of her dark armour and also on the shield she wields.
The larger man in dark half-plate armour is a Leonin.
His fur and mane are completely grey and he stands in front of his compatriot with warhammer in hand. He addresses Amiz "Who the hell..." Then he sees you properly and stops a moment. "What is this? Has g'Ruek sent one of my own people to parley with us? Do you debase yourself by working with the hobgoblins?" He grips his warhammer tighter, anger in his eyes.
"Kinfolk out here how rare! I do not work for hobgoblins. We are here in search of dwarves. Have you seen any?" asks Amiz in a more relaxed position but still holding his axe and shield.
The leonin sneers at you, "You've come all the way to this land and made friends with dwarves? I would have thought you might have at least been some entertainment. But you've just assimilated into this place haven't you? Disgusting!"
The tiefling hushes him as the rest of you enter the cave, she says "We haven't seen any dwarves, although I do beleive the hobgoblins have been doing some deals with one. Yuddic was it? I beleive they'd decided the deal wasn't working for them anymore and sent a raiding party out to capture them and send them into the mines." She thinks to herself, "Tell me, how do you plan to get through the creatures in this mine to find your dwarf friends? You know these aren't cute little gnomes right, they'll rip your hearts out through your mouths." She giggles when she delivers this last line.
These two are both still holding their weapons at the ready. They aren't letting their guards down, yet neither are they attacking you or raising the alarm.
"Ah ha I knew something was going on as Yuddic and the rest of the dwarves were being shifty." Amiz then looks at the Teifling "Well from what I learned your trying to reach the pit and I don't plan to clear the way just for you 2 ne'er-do-wells. If you have an interest in this place as I know you do, then you are going to have to get your hands dirty"
Draíocht blinks, seeing double-standards from the strange Leonin. "You accuse my companion of debasing himself by working with hobgoblins, yet you yourself work with them. You say he's debased himself by associating with dwarves. But they are more worthy companions than, again, hobgoblins. Do you accuse him out of Leonin banter or because of your worries about yourself? I admit I'm not familiar your kind's ways."
He takes a moment to stow his bow, carrying his staff instead and then turns his attention to the tiefling, wondering what she'll say of Amiz's proposal. He glances at Thelanis, wondering how she's reacting to the interaction.
Draíocht - The leonin sneers at you, "This coming from an elf, warmongers and elitists."
The tielfling puts a hand on the leonin's arm, "Come now Jagar, it seems these lot are offering their help." She addresses you all with her sweet voice, "My name is Mycette, and my friend here is Jagar. We are a part of an adventuring group like yourselves, interested in some of the goings ons here around Kholias. Specifically we want access to the city of Kholias itself, as you probably know people who venture into the city tend to go mad, which we'd like to avoid if we could. It seems we might be able to get there through the Underdark, which we've just found out can be accessed at the bottom of this mine." She breathes after rushing through that very fast. She continues after a moment, "So if you want some help clearing out the hobgoblins we might be able to tell you about the layout of the mine, what you've got coming up ahead and all that."
Draíocht shrugs at Jagar's accusation. He listens intently as Mycette speaks, already noting she left out the part about necromancy. Still willing to work with the two for a while though, he lets others take the lead on whether or not to accept as there were trepidations. Though already suspicious of the tiefling, he tries to observe her words and mannerisms for any further signs of deceit.
Mycette’s sweet voice is antithetical to her general demeanour, which is deceitful and chaotic. She and Jagar are most likely up to no good. However, she as not lied to you this time. Their reason for wanting to help you seems genuine, if not completely detailed.

Does everyone think this is a good idea?
Thelanis counters, "I think we'd be better off confronting and straight up taking them out, I'd be worried about us being betrayed by them."
