"And transportation," Dacyne adds to the list of items these people had provided.  "You're right, we should check it out. But be cautious." 

When the wagons stop, Fieslius gestures at Dacyne, "You're a bit more armored than me. But I'll be right behind you and helping to keep a watch as we go."

ok, will you guys try to hide? and will Genna?
just to prepare, I need stealth and perception checks from everyone. Genna has advantage on stealth.

Dacyne nods to Fiselius, moving off the wagon first. She isn't trying to hide. "Come on, we know you're out here."  She looks about to see if she can locate anyone. (Perception: 18)

Ok, Fiselius completely fails to be stealthy.
Zania can see both him and Daycne, but Neither of them can see exactly where she is, they just know roughly.

"I think it was over there," Dacyne says, pointing in the direction she thinks she saw something. "We're just travelers who happened upon this group. They're all friendly enough. Might as well identify yourself!" She glances over at Fiselius, speaking in a quieter voice. "Maybe we're going to need more help with this." 

"Perhaps." mutters Fiselius, "But always good to try without it first." He echoes Dacyne and calls out in friendly manner, "We're not gonna bite you unless you bite first."

Zania observes the two who came looking for in the forest, assessing them carefully as she tries to decide whether she should reveal herself to them. Eventually, one of them speaks, sounding friendly enough... but many creatures who seem friendly prove to be anything but.

Still, she sighs. They know she's here. Slowly, she approaches them, revealing herself at last.



The woman is big... extremely big. Over seven feet tall, with an athletic build, both graceful and powerful. The woman looks like she is likely descended from the giants, and not to be taken lightly.

"I wouldn't recommend making jokes about biting in a place like this," she says with a little smile. "Many people would take that sort of thing more seriously than you might like."

Dacyne gives Fiselius a brief disapproving glance when this large woman comments about not making biting jokes.  "Where are you headed to in the Svalich Woods? We're on our way to..."  She pauses, trying to recall where exactly it is they were going. "Well, we're looking for an Kolyan Indirovich. He had sent us a message requesting aid." 

Fiselius shrugs at Dacyne's disapproving look and has a minor mischievous grin on his lips. He conjures up a stepstool to get closer to eye level with the goliath more than double his size, though still a few feet shorter than her even with the stool. "Pardon my phrase, ma'am. I'm not used to going into vampires' territory." he says, "I suppose I should watch my words when the stakes are so high." he winks. "Pleasure to meet you... ???" he looks at the goliath, hoping to exchange names.

Zania is a bit taken aback by Fiselius' seeming inability to take the situation seriously. But she doesn't feel like arguing or correcting the stranger.

"Zania, formerly of the Stonebreaker clan," she says after a few moments' hesitation. "I was on the trail of a hag until she disappeared in the wake of the Vistrani... I was hoping to determine if she had disguised herself and hidden among them."

The giantess has a stiff, awkward way of speaking. Very blunt and to the point.

"Dacyne Nightbeam, servant of Sehanine," the elf says, introducing herself. "I rather hope that a hag has not secreted herself amongst these people. Let's hope not." She glances to the gnome, waiting for him to introduce himself. 

"The name is Fiselius vondus Yaralogus." says Fiselius, extending a hand. Like Dacyne he's a bit surprised at the news of a hag. "A hag you say? Any idea what kind?" He thinks for a moment, getting down to business, "If she's disguised herself, I could take the time to cast detect magic again. We're far enough away I'd doubt the hag would see the casting and be none the wiser that she was being sought out."

At this point, the caravan has slowly come to a halt, rright around the next bend. You can just barely see the last couple wagons.
You can see Stanimar approaching.

"Probably wouldn't hurt to make sure there's no hag," Dacyne says in agreement with Fiselius. "I can try and detect magic as well and cover more ground faster."  She glances to Stanimar as he approaches. "Or perhaps you can be of aid in this. This traveler, seems to have been following a hag" She inclines her head towards Zania. "There's a chance it might have hidden itself amongst the caravan."  She would start to cast the spell as a ritual.

{[I will clarify, the caravan is a couple hundred feet away. The range for detect magic is 30FT.]}

[[ But it's also a duration of 10 minutes. So the goal is: Cast away where the hag wouldn't see. Then come back to the caravan while it's till running. ]]

"I like that plan." says Fiselius to Dacyne suggesting they can cover more ground with both casting it. He too begins ritual-casting detect magic.

"A green hag," the giantess clarifies. "Shouldn't be anything too dangerous, at least not on its own."
