Class: Hexblade Warlock > Swords Bard (Level 5 start preferred, but largely depends on rate of progression)
Background: Giant Foundling from Bigby's seems appropriate here, but happy to change.
Ability scores: As per post 86 (9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18), rolled with rr1o.
Backstory:
Ral'aden sat in the tavern talking to another new face... So many people passing through recently, fleeing the North. He always felt the need to hunker down, to hide himself from view when people told tales of giant attacks, or atrocities committed against the kind, gentle people of the realm. Of course, he needn't have tried to hide himself, no one would have thought twice about associating the grey-skinned elf with a giant tribe. If that was even the face Ral'aden had been wearing that day. No, today Ral'aden had taken on the guise of the plainest human he could manage, non-descript with nothing so much as a freckle that would cause the memory of him to last in people's minds.
He supped his drink and joined voices with the rowdiest in the tavern, fitting himself into the crowd for the night before he would rise, early in the morning and make his way against the ebb of refugees and fleeing people, heading towards the North, towards the trouble, towards his kin. Amidst the shouts condemning the giant-folk, Ral'aden let his memories wander back, to a scared young boy, lost in the mountains, starving, nearly frozen to death. It had been a tribe of giants that had saved him, that had raised a slip of a boy that wasn't their own. People here knew nothing of the giants, one was the same as the next, a racial stereotype that slurred the species... Oh how wrong these ignorant imbeciles were.
As ever when he lets his thoughts drift to those of the tribe, throughout the years since he left, he also recalls the voice... Her voice. The words which silently echoed in his head, overwhelmed his younger mind, pushing him to strike out, and set his path in the realms. Yet now he returns and with each passing day, as he travels league after league, her presence seems fuller and he once more sees her wispy shadow fluttering at the edges of his sanity....
Another cry of outrage breaks his reverie, another utterance of false denunciation and Ral'aden raised his glass once more to the idiocy. Tomorrow he would keep moving, back home, back to try and find his tribe, his hope upon hope that they were not caught up in this debacle.
House rules you think I should use (if any): You have already got most of the ones I like to consider. Primarily for PbP I am a fan of anything that makes the initiative order easier to manage.
Since he was young, Ralloscallant has been obsessed with history. As he grew older, he became a scholar and studied from his vast library. When his library caught fire, he made a deal out of desperation with the Great Old One. He was shunned and chased out of his town for his powers. He had to borrow and steal from many unsavory characters with connections to the Thieves' Guild. Although he hasn't had a home since, he is suspicious that he is still being followed, and takes every precaution to hide his tracks as he travels to visit and record historic sites. His coffers have since run dry, and he is once again desperate for more gold.
