Cole takes the opportunity of Jugurth having turned to face Tibold and hits him in the kidneys with a flying kick doing 6 points of bludgeoning damage. The kick proves to be sufficient to send Jugurth crashing to the floor – dead!
Thromkor once again lays a hand on Gotrek, speaking a few words in Draconic. The hand glows briefly, healing some of the dwarf's multitude of wounds.
"Your name's Mobad?"Tibold asks the remaining Orog, feigning incredulity. "Or is it just 'Mo,' and a helpful description of your abilities?"Mobad looks up Tibold and says "even Drool - and he's a dumbarse - can do better than that!" as he raises his Great-Axe to take another swing at Gotrek.
Fortunately for Gotrek he manages to get in the first blow hacking at the taller Orog’s knees with his Great –Axe for 15 points of slashing damage which he quickly follows-up in his signature move of a knee to the groin doing a further 9 points of bludgeoning damage. Mobad continues to hack at Gotrek doing 10 points of actual slashing damage as if he was trying to split a log, which despite a multitude of blows, refuses to split.
Tibold scowls, clueless facade dropped for the moment. "Drool? Well, I'm not sure about that. But look!" he continues, gesturing at Drool's fallen form. "Now he's dead in the dirt, just like you will be very soon. So what does it matter, you brainless buffoon?"
"Calling me brainless is a bit harsh - I am as smart as both the short people here!"Mobad says looking at both Gotrek and Cole. Looking again at Gotrek grinning, missing an ear and covered in blood have been beaten up by three Orogs for almost 120 points of, he says "but the bar is pretty low, I mean the really short one doesn't even know how to hold his weapon properly!" By taking the time to respond to Tibold’s insult means that Mobad is likely to be less effective in his fight with Gotrek, should he survive that long!
In what seems to be a never-ending exercise, Thromkor once again lays a hand on Gotrek, speaking a few words in Draconic. The hand glows briefly, healing some of the dwarf's multitude of wounds.
“Short jokes eh? Well the bigger they are the harder they fall like your two buddies I just took out,”Cole says as he moves and jabs Mobad in the side with his stiffened fingers doing 7 points of bludgeoning damage.
Gotrek swings his Great-Axe and in a mighty blow decapitates Mobad doing 16 points of slashing damage (OOC he had 2 hit points left).
"Fool. He talked too much,"Tibold says as he glances at Mobad's head, shaking his own head as if disappointed.
"Well, we fought quite passably,"Tibold remarks to the group after a moment. He looks towards Gotrek, Thromkor, and Cole, saying a few words to each in turn.
"Sir dwarf, I count myself fortunate to be on the same side as you. A pity about your ear and hair, but one will grow back, at least."
"Thromkor, at least one of your power or aim has improved, it seems."
"Sir halfling, I am baffled by your abilities, but pleasantly so."
Thromkor steps through Tibold and Gotrek, his eyes on the bodies. "Friend dwarf, may I borrow your axe?"
OOC: Assuming he would, however confusedly, offer the weapon to Thromkor.
Systematically, the dragonborn severs the remaining heads. He does this calmly and deliberately, ignoring the splatters of blood and gore. Unfortunately, it's not quick, as he's fairly weak. But the axe is sharp, so it does a lot of the work. When it is done, he says to the mutilated bodies something in Draconic. It is the same thing the other three heard him yell at the beginning of the fight, but calmer and almost proudly this time. He limps back over to Gotrek and returns the weapon. "Thank you."
Not sure these were the regenerating type but I guess they can’t come back without a head now. Which way do you think we should go now? I vote south, but I’ll follow the leader so to speak if you all want the other way first. I’m ready to push on unless someone feels the need for a short rest?

At the mention of a short rest, Thromkor's shoulders drop. He leans against his ebony staff with both hands. "I'm afraid my fatigue is more than what a short rest will rectify." He gives a half shrug.
Gotrek coughs as he sees Cole collect something from Jurgurths headless body, "Cole my friend, I hope you intend to share with the group what you found? Other than that, how does everyone feel? Do we need a rest?"
Players please update your character sheets to reflect a short rest. Gotrek and Cole yours are out-of-date!
I will assume you have a lit torch unless somebody now tells me different!
The party takes a short rest and after about a hour agrees to leave the mine guardroom - in the same order as before (Gotrek, Cole, Tibold and Thromkor) through the southern door with torches lit. The corridor goes south for 20 feet before coming to a T-intersection (the party is travelling up the shaft) where it then goes east and west. As the party comes to the intersection and peers up to the east they can see at the edge of the lit area - approximately 60 feet away some sort of iron gate. About 40 feet up on the north side of the corridor they can see some sort of alcove and about 50 feet up on the southern side they can see another alcove. As the party looks to the west they can see that the corridor ends 50 feet away but it looks like there is an intersection 30 feet to the west. (see map)
Following Thromkor's suggestion the party turns to the west and then north at the first opportunity. They then spend the next 10 minutes exploring the mines (see Map). The party then returns to the south-east corner of the mine complex. As they approach the iron grill at the end of the corridor they pass two more iron grills. Behind each of the three grills, all of which are secured with a chain and padlock, they can see cell-like rooms have been excavated from the rock. Inside, a number of prisoners huddle on miserable straw pallets.
As the party approaches the pens, they count 17 prisoners (14 humans, 2 halflings, 1 gnome and 1 dwarf). The northern and southern pens contain only six humans, whilst the eastern pen contains a human, the halflings, the gnome and the dwarf. Some of the more mobile prisoners approach the bars begging to be released saying the Orog jailer has got the keys, whilst others sit on their pallets staring dejectedly into space.
Cole fiddles around with the keys and eventually finds the one that fits and unlocks the gate. The prisoners in the other pens start saying "what about us?"
Thromkor barely restrains himself as he nods to the dwarf. "Bruldenthar," the dragonborn says, his voice full of excitement, "my associate and I have been searching for you." Thromkor looks to make sure Tibold is paying attention. "It's very good to find you alive. We were worried we might not."

And that's all I have to say about that.
We should search them for any keys, they seemed to be guards and might have something useful.

"I could use a bit more magic today, but I would hope that we do not require a lot of it."
And that's all I have to say about that.
Just a set of Keys, maybe it will help us through any locked doors we may find.
