After agreeing that Thromkor will carry the Amulet of Health for the timebeng the party led by Gotrek heads off back down stairs. Just as they get to the top of the stairs where the light from the torch runs out, Thromkor asks to the party to halt. He pulls out a river pebble that he had picked up previously in the canyon and casts Light on it. This provides bright light in a 20 foot radius and dim light for a further 20 feet. The party makes its way through the Crypt with no trouble but as they step through the doorway from the Crypt into the mines something on Cole’s backpack bangs softly against the wall. As Gotrek steps out of the cross-way toward the door into the Guardroom which they can see is closed and Cole and Tibold are in the cross-way, two javelins coming flying out of the darkness. Both are aimed at Tibold, however warned by some sixth sense he sways out of the way of the one coming from his left (east) but in doing so moves into the path of the one coming from the right (west) and takes 4 points of piercing damage as it pierces the meaty part of his right thigh before falling free. Immediately the Javelins leave their hands, two four foot tall humanoids wearing scale mail pop into view; one is 15 feet away to the east and the other is 15 feet away to the west. Then the door in front of Gotrek slams open and stepping into the doorway is another humanoid also wearing scale male but about the size of an Ogre and wielding a warpick. Gotrek recognises it as an enlarged Duergar.
Seeing the grew dwarves step out of the darkness, Gotrek enters a rage. "It doesn't surprise me that you grey bastards would be a part of the black earthers! And still up to your usual tricks it seems."
He then takes a mighty swing at the enlarged Duergar with his great-axe. (Rolls in discord).
"Should have known this wouldn't be easy," Thromkor grumbles. He raises a clawed hand at the enlarged duergar and speaks a few words in Draconic. Numbing frost forms on its hide.
Frostbite: needs 14 CON save or it suffers 2 cold damage and has disadvantage on its next weapon attack roll
He then lowers the head of his ebony staff and rubs his free hand along on top of the orb. Uttering a few words in Draconic, he looks at the enlarged duergar and a four foot diameter replica of the orb appears behind it, floating in the air and shimmering slightly. Thromkor points at the duergar and the orb flies at it in an attempt to hit it.
"Why is it always me who gets jumped?" he asks through gritted teeth. Without waiting for a response, he plays a key on his spectral keyboard, muttering a spell as he stares balefully at the west-most humanoid.
Cole closes on the Duergar to his west (D#2) “allow me to teach you some manners when greeting guests!” he quips as he attacks it with a flurry if blows. The Duergar watches Cole with a look of disdain on its face as all Cole manages to do is bruise his palms on its armoured chest. When Cole draws breath he says “have you finished? Good it’s my turn” as he swings his War Pick. Unfortunately, if anything he is even more ineffectual than Cole who easily dodges the swinging pick. Seeing the Grey Dwarves step out of the darkness, Gotrek enters a rage."It doesn't surprise me that you grey bastards would be a part of the Black Earthers! And still up to your usual tricks it seems."As he says this, the enlarged Duergar (D#3) steps towards Gotrek and swings his giant War Pick but he fails to take into account its increased mass and easily misses Gotrek who just stands and watches. Despite his rage Gotrek’s return swing with his Great Axe is far more controlled and slices into the Duegar’s knee, doing 9 points of slashing damage and almost severing the Duegar’s leg. "Should have known this wouldn't be easy,"Thromkor grumbles. He then lowers the head of his ebony staff and rubs his free hand along on top of the orb. Uttering a few words in Draconic, he looks at the enlarged Duergar (D#3) and a four foot diameter replica of the orb appears behind it, floating in the air and shimmering slightly. Thromkor points at the duergar and the orb flies at it in an attempt to hit it. In what can only be described as a beautiful spare, the orb flies into the back of the enlarged Duergar’s head doing 11 points of force damage and crushing its skull. Thromkor raises a clawed hand at the Duegar to the west (D#2) speaks a few words in Draconic. Numbing frost forms on its hide and it takes 2 points of cold damage. Tibold gasps in pain from the Javelin strike. "Why is it always me who gets jumped?" he asks through gritted teeth. Without waiting for a response, he plays a key on his spectral keyboard, muttering a spell as he stares balefully at the west-most humanoid. The Duergar is suddenly frozen in place and unable to move. Seeing that the creature is held, Tibold calls out to Cole. "Now, if you Cole-d take care of him?" Tibold winces at the pun, in fact it is questionable if you could even call it a pun and he goes on to say “wait, no...Ugh, just punch him or something, please." Seeing that everybody is concentrating on the westernmost Duergar, the one from the east (D#1) takes the opportunity to run up and swing his War Pick at Tibold saying as he does “now you’ll really have something to winge about pointy ears.” Unfortunately his bark is far worse than his bite and his blow doesn’t even come close; in fact he is lucky to hang onto his weapon. Suddenly where Gotrek though he was facing an empty doorway, it is filled with another enlarged Duergar (D#5) swinging his War Pick lustily and that’s all that can be said about that as it clean misses him.
Cole takes the opportunity of the fact that D#2 is held and covered in ice to inflict a flurry of blows on him doing a total of 20 points of bludgeoning damage. Despite the fact that hitting the prone Duergar is easier than taking toffee of a baby, it is only because of Tibold yelling out “c’mon Cole you can do it”that Cole actually hits with the first blow. Despite his efforts Cole is still unable to reduce the Duergar to unconsciousness As another enlarged Duergar (D#4) steps in front of Gotrek, he calls out "If you also want to be cut down, I am happy to oblige." He then proceeds to do just that, first by making a reckless swing with his Great Axe doing 18 points of slashing damage across the Duergar’s chest and abdomen that rips through its scale armour and exposes serveral ribs. He then follows up with a knee to the gut and the points on his armour penetrate through the wound to perforate the Duergar’s descending aorta showering Gotrek in blood as the Duergar crashes to the floor. Thromkor concentrates on the Duergar threatening Tibold and the giant bowling ball flies towards it doing 7 points of force damage. As if on repeat, the dragonborn raises a clawed hand at D#2 and speaks a few words in Draconic. Numbing frost forms on its hide once again and it takes 2 more points of cold damage. Tibold smirks at the Duergar (D#1) who missed him. "Not much to ‘winge’ about there. But maybe I will anyways..."So saying, Tibold takes a deep breath and breathes out, a terrible shriek emanating from the back of his throat. "Hmm! Excuse me," he remarks with a mirthless grin. The piercing sound is too much for the Duergar and in addition to taking 13 points of psychic damage it turns and flees. Then much to Gotrek’s joy another enlarged Duergar (D#5) steps through the door, its armour is of slightly better quality than the first two and it says “Right, little man, lets be having you” as it swings its giant War-pick. Clangeddin Silverbaerd certainly has his hand over Gotrek in this battle because this bow also misses.
As a third duergar steps up, Gotrek looks confused, "I thought you grey dwarves were mesnt to be smart. Can't you see what happen to your to companions?"
Then seeing no point in changing a successful tactic, Gotrek makes a wild swing with his great axe and follows with a knee to the gut. (Reckless, rolls in discord)
"This place is full of surprises," Thromkor says, pointing at D#5 so the floating spiritual orb flies at it in an attempt to hit it. "Unintelligent duergar are just the next thing." He then lifts his ebony staff into the air with both hands and speaks a few words in Draconic. The staff's orb flashes and a frigid beam of blue-white light streaks toward D#1.

"This place is full of surprises, and unintelligent Duergar are just the next thing."Thromkor says, pointing at D#5. In a stylish deflection of the side wall, the giant bowling ball cannons into the side of the enlarged Duergar inflicting 9 points of force damage. Thromkor then lifts his ebony staff into the air with both hands and speaks a few words in Draconic. The staff's orb flashes and a frigid beam of blue-white light streaks toward D#1 doing 3 points of cold damage dropping it to the ground. Tibold turns to the nearest Duergar. "Not much point in insulting your intelligence further, so how about your weapons skills? Seems like you couldn't hit the sides of a tunnel with a pickaxe!" Tibol yells out to the enlarged Duergar (D#5) doing 1 point of psychic damage. “We’ll see about that”the Enlarged Duergar says in a very measured tone as he swings his War Pick at Gotrek, and inflicting seven points of damage. Because of his enraged state, Gotrek shrugs off most of the damage and only takes 3 points of piercing damage. “Looks like you spoke to soon pointy ears” the Duergar yells up the corridor at Tibold. He then turns to Gotrek and says “well my honour and that of Deep Duerra is satisfied, what say we stop here?” as he puts the giant sized War Pick down where it immediately shrinks back to its normal size.
