Frustrated after missing with his first attack, Gotrek shoulder charges the monk in front of him before rolling up with a big swing of his Axe. (Reckless, rolls in Discord)
Tibold begins to speak, but remembers his spell. Instead, he raises his hands high above his head. Light descends from them upon Thromkor, Gotrek, Tibold, and Cole, who are suddenly filled with a sense of inspiration which translates into 5 temporary Hitpoints each and the opportunity to disengage if they so wish. However, neither Cole nor Gotrek choose to take up this opportunity for like the stock horses in ‘The Man from Snowy River’, the two of them snuffed the battle with delight. They were both hard and tough and wiry — just the sort that won't say die —and there was courage in their quick impatient tread; And they bore the badge of gameness in their bright and fiery eyes, And the proud and lofty carriage of their heads (with apologies to A.B. ‘Banjo’ Patterson).
Seeing Cole pressing Monk #2 back against the wall and taking the honours in the first round, Monk #6 having woken and leapt to his feet in Round 1 comes to his colleague’s aid. His flying feet and hands do a total of 9 points of bludgeoning damage. Monk #5 also joins but is unable to land any blows on Cole, whilst Monk #2 manages to land one blow doing 8 points of bludgeoning damage.
Gotrek is beginning to feel like he may have poked a stick into an ant’s nest because Monks #1 & 3 manage to successfully land all four strikes on Gotrek doing over twenty points of bludgeoning damage; however because of his rage Gotrek is able to absorb most of the damage and only takes 12 points of bludgeoning damage. If he was not in a silence zone, he would probably yell out something like “is that all’ve you got!”
Thromkor raises a clawed hand at Monk #1 and again speaks a few words in Draconic. Numbing frost forms on it, which it is unable to shake off this time and it takes 5 points of cold damage.
Frustrated after missing with his first attack, Gotrek shoulder charges Monk #1 before following up with a big swing of his Great Axe. His shoulder charge inflicts 11 points of piercing damage and knocks the Monk off his feet and as he falls to the ground, still conscious, Gotrek’s axe decapitates him.
Determined to prove that he is the better martial artist, Cole focus on Monk #2. Unfortunately due to the fact that he is still recovering from the winding blow he took in the first round, Cole misses with his first strike. His second strike a flying kick is more successful doing 6 points of bludgeoning damage.
At about this time Monk #4 lumbers to his feet. If the other five monks were slim in build, this guy is built like a Sumo Wrestler. He does manage to hit Gotrek with a glancing blow, some of which Gotrek absorbs as he only takes 2 points of bludgeoning damage.
Thromkor has been getting more and more agitated. He stomps into the room, pushing past the bard (to NE of A1). "I'm not going to just st —" but his words die away as he enters Tibold's silence spell, as does the rhythmic whack of his staff on the floor. He quickly looks around, then begins waving his free hand in an intricate maneuver while the other lifts his ebony staff. The orb on top glows and two shards of ice quickly form in front of the dragonborn. With a final flick of his wrist, one shard is propelled toward the monk in the far corner (NE of C2) and another toward one harrowing Gotrek (SE of A2).
1 sorcery point for twinned spell
Ice Knife attack vs. NE of C2: 24; damage: 1 piercing damage
NE C2, SE C1, NW C2 and Cole need to roll DEX 14 or sustain 5 cold damage
Ice Knife attack vs. SE of A2: 19; damage: 6 piercing damage
SE A2, NE A2 and Gotrek need to roll DEX 14 or sustain 12 cold damage
Being sprayed ice, Gotrek yells out angrily, "Hey! I am standing over here!", before turning to Monk 3, swinging his Axe and following up with an elbow to the head. (Reckless, rolls in discord)
Cole continues his assault on Monk2 with a palm strike and the settles into a defensive stance against he 3 enemies (ki point to take dodge as a bonus action)
Tibold winces at Cole's plight, then taps a key on his spectral instrument. This sounds, and suddenly the spell of Silence is broken. Without missing a beat, he then rushes over to Cole and tapping him on the shoulder at the same time as muttering a healing phrase before hurrying away from the brawl. It is hard to tell whether Cole was distracted by Tibold’s presence or not, but Monk #6 manages to land two blows for 10 points of bludgeoning damage, which more than offset the 6 points of healing Cole gained from Tibold’s Cure Wounds. Monks #2 and #5 then seek to take advantage of Cole’s distraction to see if they too can land blows; however, Cole ducks, weaves and parries and not a single blow lands.
Monk #3 enraged by the callous way with which Gotrek dispatched his colleague (Monk #1) last round, launches a flurry of blows all of which hit for a total of ten points of damage. However, Gotrek is so focused on bringing his enemies down that he doesn’t even notice most of the damage and only takes 5 points of actual bludgeoning damage.
Thromkor has been getting more and more agitated. He stomps into the room, pushing past the bard (to NE of A1). "I'm not going to just st —"but his words die away as he enters and realises that Tibold's silence spell is no longer in operation. He quickly looks around, then begins waving his free hand in an intricate maneuver while the other lifts his ebony staff. The orb on top glows and two shards of ice quickly form in front of the dragonborn. With a final flick of his wrist, one shard is propelled toward the Monk #6 and the other towards Monk #4 (aka the Sumo Wrestler). As the ice shards hit their designated targets they do 1 and 5 points of piercing damage respectively. They explode and shower everybody in the vicinity with ice. Cole manages to successfully dodge out of the way, but the same is not true, despite that fact that he saw the shard coming out of the corner of his eye for Gotrek who then takes 12 points of cold damage.
Being sprayed ice, Gotrek yells out angrily, "Hey! I am standing over here!", before turning to Monk #3, swinging his Axe and following up with an elbow to the head. While the axe blow misses, the elbow strike does not and Gotrek inflicts 10 points of piercing damage.
Cole then continues his assault on Monk #2 with a palm strike which he inflicts 6 points of bludgeoning damage. This, plus the damage the Monk has taken from ice shard proves too much and the Monk collapses to the ground. Cole then prepares himself for he expect to be a flurry of blows form his two remaining enemies (Monk #6 & Monk #5).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thromkor holds up his staff and speaks a few words in Draconic. His hand glows briefly and then the orb at the top of his staff flashes and a mote of energy sores at Gotrek, healing his wounds.
Feeling revitalized after getting some of his bruises healed, Gotrek turns to Monk #3 swinging with his Axe and following with a knee to the groin. (Reckless, rolls in discord)
Tibold tut-tuts and shakes his head at Monk #4. "Whoever your leader is, they didn't do the best job of training you monks. Or maybe this is just a...clerical error?" Tibold asks with a smirk. Monk #4 treats the pub with the contempt – i.e. no response at all – it deserves.
Meanwhile despite the fact that he ducks and weaves Monk #6’s attacks, Cole is unsuccessful and both of the monk’s blows land inflicting 7 and 6 points of bludgeoning damage. This is too much for Cole and he collapses to the ground with a groan (Death save required in your turn Cole).
Monk #5 takes the opportunity of Cole collapsing to close on Tibold, whereupon he launches a series of kicks and palm strikes. Tibold unprepared for combat is unable to get out of the way and wears a slap across the ears for 4 points of bludgeoning damage and kick to the stomach which winds him for 6 points of bludgeoning damage. The monk grins and says “that’s taken the wind out of you sails and should give us a break from your bad puns for at least a while.”
Thromkor holds up his staff and speaks a few words in Draconic. His hand glows briefly and then the orb at the top of his staff flashes and a mote of healing energy (Cure Wounds) soars towards Gotrek, healing B points of damage.
Feeling revitalized after getting some of his bruises healed, Gotrek turns to Monk #3 first swinging recklessly with his Great Axe and then following this up with his trademark knee to the groin. The combination of these mighty blows inflicting 11 points of slashing damage and 10 points of piercing damage respectively, is sufficient to drop Monk #3 to the ground.
Seeing his compatriot drop to the floor, Monk #4 attacks Gotrek. Compared to the damage that Gotrek inflicted on Monk #3 these are mere pinpricks doing a total of only 3 points of bludgeoning damage to Gotrek.
