(Accidental, but more because I should have called him the Hermit in the original post; because I don't think Vel should have known that info.
Vel sold supplies to the hermit every few months; and would only know him from those visits. Though they would talk often, it was more related to magical studies and research; which was limited to the magic items you found.)
If nothing happens, Nathan looks for Normand once they get to the church. He also asks about the condition of the mayor, whether they know anything about how he is.
Shalech explains to the others, "I'm off to the church. Surrisk is certainly undead, and Kirystan must be now as well. We'll see if the priests there have anything that could help keep us safe or help us defeat undead."
"Yes, I would like to ask Normand to bless my Decanter of Endless Water, it could be useful against the undead, and he might have some more advice on how to fight against such creatures."
The group makes their way to the church, Normand and Lura are both there; as well as a few patrons that were too scared after the events of last night; most of which are from Old Northbank.
A mature woman is helping Lura, and looks surprisingly similar to her.
Shalech approaches Father Normand and explains; Dar is tasking the group to seek out further information about the individuals plaguing the town. It is very likely we will run into Surrisk or Kirystan or both, who we are pretty sure are undead.
"Before we head out, is there anything the church can provide us to keep us safe or help us fight undead?"
As Shalech finishes, Nathan also turns to Father Normand: "Father, actually I already have an idea. I have found this Decanter of Endless Water, which is capable of producing water, and if I am correct, these foul creatures can be damaged by holy water. Do you think you could bless this object, making it capable of producing holy water? I am not sure whether it would work, but it is certainly worth a try. Do you want me to show how it works?"
The mature woman looks startled. "What? Kyristan and Surrisk are undead?! I can't believe they actually went through with it." The woman wears dark colors and is dressed in a long loose dress. Her hair has just begun to gray.
Normand was explaining how he'd be able to bless the decanter; before becoming distracted by the mature woman's words.
"Years ago I was Kyristan's apprentice." She explains. "After Kyristan was exiled I was despaired when I heard of his actions, and decided it would be best to leave Northbank. When I received a letter, a few months ago, inviting me to join them in undeath immortality; I came back home to try to stop it if possible. Looks like I was too late."
"Do you still have his letter? Maybe we can find out more about what they are up to. And you may be too late to stop them from turning undead themselves, but you are not too late to stop them from doing harm to other people. This is what we are planning to do."
"It's my plan too. If you are going after them, I'm coming with you. You too honey?" She turns towards Lura; who looks to Urselles briefly before smiling and nodding.
"Good, come with me to my tower. I've got things to aid your quest; and answers to at least some of your questions. Sadly I didn't keep the note." She says before starting towards the exit.
"I'm going to go scout the woods towards the tower." Kizori announces. "If I find anything I'll come back and let you guys know." And before anyone can say anything he rushes off towards the woods.
She appears to be mostly telling the truth, though something is hidden. You feel that some information is being hidden, or left out; especially in regards to what she knew of Kyristan and Surrisk's undead nature.

Shalech thanks Vel, saying, "If there's anything about him you think would be useful, get a message to us. We are off to the church next."
And off to the church we go.
Shalech meets back up with the rest of the group as he exits the shop; Urselles included.

Nathan also tries to determine whether the woman is telling the truth:

Kizori follows the broken forest trail left by the dragon. You are surprised when you see a large Yak down the same path, walking your way.
