Meredith grinned summoning the Quill and then waiting a short while til the ' kobold' was in the correct position then used her lovers whispered secret to dissolve into mist and reappear behind the scaly burglar.
Held Action if he turns- Quill- Attack: 7 Damage: 3 + When you make a ranged attack with the dart, you can speak its first command word as part of the attack to cause the dart to release a splatter of ink. If the attack hits, the target is blind until the end of its next turn. A creature can use its action to clear away the ink on itself or another creature within its reach, allowing it to see again.
The kobold is involved in its task and rolls a 4 for Perception. It does not notice the milky tendrils of fey mist that poof out with Meredith when she Misty Steps, even when those mists slip all around it. Not until it’s too late. Meredith can roll another die because her quill attack is made with advantage due to surprise.

The little reptilian, milky white scales under a dun patchwork outfit lets out a tiny peep but manages to maintain its dignity after taking 2HP damage and being blinded by Meredith’s magical ink. Its features bend into a deep frown, facial muscles tightening briskly in the very dim moonlight tilting in from a skylight at the hallway’s end. Keeping its tools in hand, it lowers them to the floor and straightens its spine, not bothering to turn around or look in Meredith’s direction.
“I am doing my job, as agreed,” it hisses in the common tongue, its tone intelligent though boiling with repressed anger. “Why must you find new ways to torture me. Ah. Because it is in your nature and you’re ‘just being you,’ I imagine?”
Meredith may be surprised to find that the reptilian does not succumb to the effects of her spell. The bard feels certain that a small family of farmers would have all been instantly rendered unconscious — so, surely a creature so small and seemingly helpless should have been no problem.
Instead, when it hears her voice, its blind face turns toward her, head cocked curiously though still sightless, and as Meredith intones the spell’s triggering phrase, fear pushes it to its feet, and it wipes furiously at its eyes to clear the ink while backpedaling. 12 (Dex save).
“No!,” it groans, “What have I done? What new mockery is this? I will do as you say, there is no need for curses, no need!!”
Meredith’s magical ink clears and its purple eyes focus on her, confused. In a less frantic tone, though still tense, it asks, “Who… who are you?”
As Erudisia feels her magic slip loose and fail to find purchase, she folds her movements into a second arcanum, and her words roll freely as she casts Hold Person, Wis Save 15.

“How will you get it?”
" I can send it to sleep.....or I could step through nothing and appear behind it."
“Send it to sleep,” whispers Erudisia, “then we can inspect it, and if wise we can pull it her to find out what it is doing when we wake it up.”
Meredith frowned......" Nope....thats wrong...new spell...still working it out....but I can teleport behind it and try and blind it with the Quill."
Erudisia recoils. “Don’t put out its eyes with your sharp quill. That is too barbaric!”
Meredith grinned summoning the Quill and then waiting a short while til the ' kobold' was in the correct position then used her lovers whispered secret to dissolve into mist and reappear behind the scaly burglar.
