Meredith looked about for the frame that might hold the mirror broken around her, picked up a sharp to examine then moved to kneel at the base of the statue.
" Sorry for intruding, Queen Firehair. I have visited your and Sharess' temples in my homeland but not one this far north. Though somewhat neglected your beauty still resonates here.....we have come to help restore it to its former splendour having spoken to your waterborn daughter."
" But we are only three......and three scholars rather than heroes.....attractive, sometimes graceful and pleasant scholars.....but scholars nonetheless."
She held up the mirror shard and pricked the end of her tongue on it, swallowing the small amount of blood but letting a little colour her lips.
" Honestly.....any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated....we have three enormously powerful Fay Horrors to oppose here."
" Sorry......kind of out of practice with the whole praying thing."
Meredith looks for the frame that held the broken mirror. She soon realizes, due to the sheer amount of broken mirror fragments, that the object of her search will be bigger than the hand-held variety. And indeed, her eyes land upon four large mirror frames built into the walls of the shrine. The mirror fragments came from these four frames. As she looks, the bard notices more. The interior of the shrine has the appearance of having been abandoned after some sort of terrible confrontation years ago. Broken benches with shredded cushions are overgrown by thick fungi. Also on the floor at the edge of her vision at the base of the walls are several crumpled pieces of stone, or perhaps stone figurines 4 or 5 inches long.
The statue of Sune, grime-encrusted, bears an expression that might once have suggested smiling laughter, but streaks of dirt now make it appear as though the goddess is weeping.
Meredith’s prayer is answered only by silence.
But no… it is not silence. Not complete silence. For a voice – a whispered echo – sounds from… somewhere. It is hard to tell from where. From the statue? No… but… there. Behind the statue. A staircase which descends into darkness. And now, utter silence again. But no! The same small sound, a voice, indistinct, like a piece of obsidian on black velvet. Muttering from the darkness below. But only for a moment. And then, again! And then, nothing more, for a time.

From the interior the resin holds the doors and windows shut just as it does from outside. Meredith notes that the hole in the ceiling is big enough for someone to slip through, however.
