Ransyl begins to look around for their next move. He wonders if it is possible to follow the Kobold down the vent, to continue past the barricade, or is their perhaps another path?
perception: 9
Ransyl looks at the vent but he quickly realizes that a medium sized person would not fit in the vent.
"Looks like it's deeper in and past the barricade, then. Where's that torch?" the human fighter says. Kirinar will hold the torch in one hand and his shield in the other, taking the lead to help protect the others.
"Yes, fine!" Keyleth calls back to Faen in response to her question, while searching the kobold's body. As the others start to move to the barricade, she steps aside to let the two fighters take the lead, and says, "I'll take up the rear, and keep a bit of distance from you, staying in the shadows. That way, there may be a chance that if the rest of you run into an ambush, I can counterattack undetected." She follows the group through the now toppled barricade, keeping enough distance that she is out of the torchlight.
Kirinar will set off beyond the barricade, looking both ways, but in the absence of any interesting or distinguishing thing on either side, will choose to turn right...
Kirinar and Ransyl easily push past the barrier blocking the end of the hallway. Looking around you see that this airy chamber would once have been bright and dry but its many high windows have been covered with heavy drapes to keep the light out, and the pervasive damp of the swamp seeps up through the stones. The many sculpted pillars that would once have given worshipers secluded nooks for meditation now cast areas of deeper shadow in the gloom. Slivers of light filter through the gaps in crude wooden doors to the southeast and southwest, and from an open stairwell to the south.
There is a repeated theme of reptilian iconography worked into the carvings of the pillars, and signs that the kobolds have been actively working to clear out the ruins and make them more habitable.
You hear the chatter of kobolds coming from the east and there are at least a couple sitting at the east table. They appear to be engrossed in some sort of game and do not notice you. Anyone who speaks draconic can hear that they are talking about a game they are playing and arguing over the rules.
(OOC: Would the human be able to see (and fight) without the torch? If so Kirinar will drop it behind the barricade in the hopes they can gain surprise. If not, well, then I have another idea... =)
Keyleth will approach the doorway to the immediate west of the barricade. Standing against the wall with a dagger in one hand she will open the door quietly and wait a few moments to see if anyone comes out to investigate, ready to strike with her dagger. If not she will move in front of the doorway to look into the room.
If it is empty she will repeat the process with the eastern door.

Keyleth quietly moves to the east door. The kobold's are at the table only 15-20 feet away now. She can see that there are 4 of them, and one of them has something on a leash but she cannot see what it is. As she reaches the door she hears something in the room...

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
You find a dagger and a sling. In a small pouch on its belt you find a vial of acid.

“Right behind you Kirinar. Come on everyone.”

OOC: Can I make a religion or history check to see if I know anything about the iconography on the pillars? Just curious.
OOC - do we see anyone else in this hall?

Yes, you may make a religion check
No

Roll stealth for the east door.
