Standing on the balcony you can see the other buildings you saw as you first approached the ruins. You are on the west side on the south end in the building to the south of the bridge labeled 9. The other bridge, labeled 5, led to the side you met the other kobolds and left.
OoC: We're in the big building on the lower left, having just come out the south door onto the little balcony (in light gray). The elderly kobolds were in the southeastern building that we had entered from the north door. I think we need to get to the center buildings, which I assume we will get to by going back inside then out the east door. Not quite sure how to get over that spotty area marked 13; is that a collapsed bridge, DM?
Keyleth checks the door and finds nothing amiss. Opening it she finds another small balcony. The remains of another bridge lays in the water. It looks like it crossed to the building opposite the one you are in. It also leads to an inner shrine. All that remains of this stone bridge are a few mossy stones poking above the surface of the water.
"Did anyone see any planks? Maybe we can make a path above the water by laying them on the remains of the bridge...otherwise we're going swimming in crocodile infested waters... Or maybe a boat or raft?"
(Short of massacring the kobold families and taking their makeshift huts and stuff, if there isn't anything else we can use to make a temporary bridge we're going to have to swim to the center structure...that is clearly where we need to go next...)
"What about those tables in the first room we entered? Maybe we can use them as rafts to get across this water? Let's go check them out...if that won't work then I'll swim over first with a rope tied around my waist while you archers cover me." Kirinar will lead the group back along the western bridge (9) to the northern building (4).
Kirinar looks out over the fallen bridge and can see that the stones here are relatively closely spaced, with only 5 ft. between them, meaning they should be able to jump from stone to stone to get to the inner shrine.

"Looks like this doesn't go anywhere. Back in and to the east door then?"

OOC - I’m kind of confused about where we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re talking about going.

OOC: Keyelth has it right. As for what is out the east door, I guess you'll need to go and see for yourself.
OOC - think that’s what confused me, to the east door maybe something similar yet different than the big room we decided not to enter.

”I say we see what is behind the east door. Checking for traps first, of course. Keyleth?”
OoC: My US American friends, don't forget to vote today!
Keyleth nods, and gives the door a good once over.

OoC: How far up are we and how far up is the entrance to the shrine?

You can see that this area is lower than the others and it's only about 5 feet down to the remnants of the bridge from the buildings and the shrine.

”Does anyone have a grappling hook?”

OoC: Looking at the rocks, does it look like it would be possible to hop from rock to rock and make it to the other side?
OoC: Also wondering about the rock-hopping approach

OOC - I’m having a hard time visualizing our route.

OOC: A friendly hint that you can roll skills any time you choose and I will put them to use as I see fit. You may, or may not, learn something.
