Yesphira clicks her fingers and a raven appears into existence on her shoulder. She nods her head towards the ruckus and the raven flies up to get a look. "I'll get my pet to have a look at what is going on. Shall we make our way up in the meantime so we don't miss all the fun?"
As the raven reaches a vantage point of the commotion, it and Yesphira get a vision of five books with grotesque teeth and claws attacking or struggling with a few humanoid figures. One is bitting a leg, one an arm, and three are apparently flying.
Gemini is glad to get out of the library nook crevice without so much as someone making a peep. They stumble upon their friend group with a small wave. "Hey what's up-"
They are immediately cut off by the shouts. 'The books?'They cover their mouth to suppress a snicker. "Whatcha seeing up there?" they ask over to Yesphira.

You get to the floor with the problem. One person falls over the banister while flailing at the attacking entities.
Coming into this skirmish what do you do?
Five books with grotesque teeth and claws attacking and struggling with a for humanoid figures.
One of the robed figures is huddled against the banister trying to protect themselves. Another is swing a book that sprouts tendrils wrapping around the figures arms.
Hashi is running up behind Yeshpira and Belgama. Hashi casts Sleep, affecting the monstrous books with up to 21 hits points, starting closer to the currently embattled patrons and moving farther back.
(I had rolled in here, but had to edit something and it changed, so I just put the original number down.)
Ten of the patrons on the embattled floor drop leaving your unconventional party and an old gnome near the book shelves to face the entities unhindered.
Adelbrecht if the books suddenly sprouting teeth and limbs and attacking your fellow patrons wasn't odd enough, few even stranger sights come barreling up the stairs to engage in this impromptu skirmish.
One clearly, at least to you, more than a common shifter in the guise of a sea elf and some other elvan entities.
The third one onto the floor immediately dropped the other 'victims', uh patrons with a spell.
At any rate, you are apparently free to engage now and has out introductions later.
(( Roll 1d6 for your number of puppets. You may swap two for one empowered. ))

The old gnome, fixing his... peculiar outfit, now notices a far more unusual band of merrymakers and other, from what he can assume, students. Of course, such an occasion of books sprouting teeth is most certainly a call to action.
"Oh! Oh! My word! The books have simply gone mad! You there! In the 'mail! Hold my books, will you?" He calls out, motioning a gloved hand towards the Shifter.
With a small bounce in his step, he gets right the hell away from the book case as he can... a few friends following behind. Crafted out of wood and holding small, miniaturized blades and bludgeoning tools. It's adorable, is it not? They must be specially made! Either way, he sends one Puppet over to Belgama holding a book entitled "The Beginner's Guide to Tin Soldiers"..
(( Adelbrecht uses his bonus action to command one of his puppets to move towards Belgamaand Yesphira to occupy the space beside while Adelbrecht focuses on keeping himself safe from the books. ))
(( Roll: 4Edited my post and the roll changed. Original roll was a 2.))
Gemini's grin goes up to their ears at the relaying of this message. 'Mimics,'they think. Oh they can not wait to sink their teeth into them. They follow up the stairs with Yesphira. Hashi, and Belgama and spend a bit of time just take it all in. Their eyes fall onto the one who went over the banister and wince. They imagine what it might be like to hit the ground and then think about eating up the body greedily. Though with the teleportation spells the kids are known for, they guess they won't be getting an extra dinner. It takes them a while before they make their first move.
"Absolutely insane." They flash a smile over at the gnome. Gemini hadn't even noticed them arrive when they were in too embroiled in their own thoughts. They eye the curious puppets with a strange look. Biting their own lip with pointed teeth, they bleed out onto their finger and start a spell.
"For books you really aren't too smart," they quip.

Gemini, Grim, Hashi, Yesphira, and Belgama are in the library.
On the third floor (two floors up from the main entrance) a bit of a ruckus starts.
You can see loose pages and pens 🖊 flying over the curved balcony wall.
You hear various voices.
"It's the books!"
"Run!"
"Get them!"
"What in the hells is going on!?"
"Oh, gods, help us!"
Yesphira clicks her fingers and a raven appears into existence on her shoulder. She nods her head towards the ruckus and the raven flies up to get a look. "I'll get my pet to have a look at what is going on. Shall we make our way up in the meantime so we don't miss all the fun?"
