As Kulloda addresses the guards, Arthur glances at Percival and then back to the half-orc, but looks down a bit not really meeting the big guys eyes. "Um, bandit head sack? I uh, don't think we have one of those."
You all head back towards the Inn where your wagon and horses are being kept. The Inn itself seems to have picked up a bit since you left earlier in the morning. Music is heard coming out the door as a couple of elves head inside. The stables themselves are located in the back of the Inn.
Togar turns to Anachain and Kulloda and says nothing, but cocks his eye and tilts his head toward the inn. “Should we make preparations to leave? I’m ready to move on from this town, not exactly my cup of tea here..” Togar straightens his vest, listening for any voices or snippets of conversation that he can hear as they approach.
"I can't imagine any town is your cup of tea," Anachain notes. "I mean... you seem very precise, very exacting. From appearances I would imagine you don't exactly love the potpourri of any town or city with it's hodge-podge of everything all thrown together..."
As it is (I believe) just after breakfast time, perhaps approaching brunch time, Anachain figures they should maybe waste a little bit of time before taking off but doesn't think it needs be too much. Bandits aren't generally early risers, she presumes... "We could spruce up the cart a bit but what more would you like to do?"
The stable hand nods and replies, "We'll have it ready to go when you are ready to depart. Thank you for the heads up."
As you stand by the Inn determining the next course of action, the sun feels good on your backs as it rises high up in the sky. It has turned out to be quite the glorious day and it actually highlights the well kept town of Rivermark and all it's beautiful touches. Mayor Windrider sure seemed more concerned than the people of the town do, apparently she has a pretty good pulse on the trade of the town and is trying to get ahead of the situation before it really becomes an issue.
"Go kill now?" Kulloda asks the others, then looks at the tavern while Anachain talks about the wagon. "Where we find spruce to put on wagon? You do that. I go get more food."
Kulloda heads into the inn, wondering what adding spruce branches to the wagon will do. They don't want to hide the wagon from the bandits.

“You know you’re right about that. Not a big fan of potpourri in general, the stuff smells too much. And these little wide places in the road, not enough here. But yes, let’s do make it an attractive cart for the plundering. However you wish to spruce it up and some treasure filled crates in back, that should do nicely. Ready whenever you are..oh, guess we need a bite before we go..”. Togar reconjures the big faux gold chain around his neck if they are more than an hour. He keeps his bling factor optimized before the trip begins.
Kulloda walks into the Inn and everything appears back in order after the mishap at breakfast. He sees Cassie back behind the bar and she smiles at him as he enters. After he lets her know that they are on official business with the Mayor, she gives him a couple sacks of food 'On the house' as she has been seeing the lack of clientele as well and hopes their efforts improve the situation.
Anachain and Togar are able to acquire a few empty barrels from the market to give the impression the wagon is holding actual goods and not just people, adventurers at that and upon returning to the stable, the hand is good to his word and has the horses all hooked up and ready to go. He watches with a quizzical eye as the empty barrels are placed in the wagon with care but doesn't ask any questions. After securing the food package, Kulloda climbs in and nestles his large body between the barrels and Togar covers him with a blanket. As this is being done, Kulloda keeps looking for the evergreen branches on the wagon but curiously finds none.
Once settled in, you all start heading down the South road, which is ironically towards Taligbar, but you're preoccupied with the bandits at the moment. You get a couple miles away from town, keeping at eye out for anyone that might try and ambush you. The way is peaceful, long grass swaying in the wind, many birds singing their midday songs as a small group of deer graze in the distance towards the river.
As you crest the next hill, you spot them. There are three of the ruffians, surrounding a wood elf that has his back against a tree. You can't hear them from where you are, but you're far enough away that they have yet to notice you.
The elf's long dark hair waves loosely around him as he sets his wooden staff aside and unslings a soft rough-woven bag from his shoulder. He reaches inside and offers something to one of the bandits, who shakes his head and jabs a finger toward the elf's scimitar slung at his side. The elf pauses as he looks slowly from one bandit to the other, who tense up as if expecting it to finally come to fighting, and yet he makes no threatening move, except to slowly sway his head and arms hypnotically from side to side. There is a shimmer of magic in the air...

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Both the middle bandit, obviously the leader, and the one to his right can feel the hypnosis try to take hold. First the leader than the other shake their heads, the grip on their scimitars tightening as they glare at the elf they have pinned against the tree.
Deciding talking with the elf isn't getting them anywhere, they plan on taking what they want.
Myrth notices first. It was on one of their dashes ahead of the little cart, flying invisibly as usual and scouting out the area. The little imp immediately relays the information back to Anachain through their mental connection and she slows the horses to give her little group an extra moment or two to prepare before they come upon the scene.
"Bandits ahead," she says to the others in a hushed whisper just as Kulloda is inquiring. "Looks like three of them... with a victim they're in the middle of... well, victimizing... We should be upon them in a moment or three." ((Assuming carriage has 40' movement speed, 2.5 rounds...))
With the others warned, Anachain studies the upcoming scene. It seems pretty obvious enough... Though appearances can be deceiving. Still, one can always ask forgiveness later if need be. And with that thought she narrows her eyes, makes a small but precise movement of her hand, then thrusts it out suddenly and unleashes an Eldritch Blast at what appears to be the ringleader of the trio of bandits... At least from what she can see from here.
Eldritch Blast Attack: 13to hit for 3 force damage...
Even as she unleashes it, Anachain is not thrilled with her spell. Damn cart hit a bump at a critical part of her casting, or something...
"I think they know we're here," she mutters to the others.
It's in the eyes; always the eyes. The dilation of the pupils, the narrowing squint. The elf reads the signs in these humans the same as in other animals. With a growl he crouches, clutching for his staff, and making a brushing motion through his hair with his other hand. The long hair spreads out around him, seeming to fill more space than possible, and within a moment there are four identical elves, all standing with backs against the same tree and clutching identical wooden staffs.
Togar hears the warning, watching the elf appear to multiply himself and he sees the flash of steel ahead. He launches himself into the air, flying forward 25 - 30 feet, and he casts mage armor on himself, getting ready to rain fire down on the bandits from above. He gets ready to make a sound like a screech, hoping to frighten the bandits and make them quake in their boots, fearful to hear the harbinger of their feathery doom, but something catches in his throat and all he makes is an *ack* sound as some Owlin phlegm comes up in his throat.
Bursting from under the blanket at the racket going on around him, Kulloda leaps onto the drivers chair, almost upon Mother Anachain's lap and grabbing the reins kicks them into high gear. Anachain, getting ready to fire off at the bandits after being alerted to them my Myrth, easily hangs on at the sudden jerk of movement.
Togar leaves nothing to chance as he takes to the air and surrounds himself with protective magic. Deciding to engage since a discussion wasn't about to happen, Mother Anachain sends a blast of energy towards the one in the middle, but Kulloda's rash driving sends the shot wide and it lands within the branches of the tree, raining leaves down upon the others.
As Deniz does his trick running his hand through his hair, the two on each side of him - their eyes widen in shock and look to their leader and back to the elf, apparently worried what this creature was capable of. But the leader is unflappable, he snears and remarks, "A trickster eh? Then you must have more on you than you say. Maybe you've tripled your fortune doing that as well, my purse'll thank ya."
The captain lashes out with his scimitar, his first attack actually heading towards the real Deniz, but it just misses, cutting off a lock of hair. His second attack misses a mirror image, but his third slices through one and it disappears in a puff of smoke.
Turning to see who made the leaves rain, the two other bandits pull out their crossbows and send bolts towards Kulloda. The first one misses, but the second one's bolt finds it's target, delivering 10 piercing damage.
"You stupid oaf!" Anachain calls after Kulloda! She swears, first he tears away control of the cart from her, then he just totally abandons it while the thing is still racing onward! Annachain scrambles to grab the reins and pull them tight to rein in the horses even while she once more repeats the small but precise movements of her hand to gather up the eldritch energy needed to thrust it out towards the apparent leader of these bandits!
Eldritch Blast Attack vs Bandit Leader: 17 to hit for 5force damage...
The three remaining elves, crouched and growling still as they leap away from the bandits' blows, all swing their wooden staves toward the bandit leader. The staves whoosh through the air with an uncommonly weighty sound like a tree falling in a forest.

Anachain looks to Kulloda and wonders if he is joking or not... And decides it is maybe a question best dealt with later.

At mention that the bandits know they're there now, Kulloda throws the blanket off and takes in the scene.
"Which one bandits? Elves or dirt men?" Kulloda asks.
Then, depending on which ever is faster, sprints towards the action, or gets the horse and wagon going at full speed towards the other group.

”Not matter now, men die,” Kulloda says, deciding the elves are less a threat at this point.
He rips the bolt out, sending his already simmering anger over the edge into full rage.
Kulloda leaps off the cart and races towards the bandits, yelling the entire way.
Once he gets there he slashes at A with his great sword, Godsbane.
