(OOC: Waiting on if other PCs act, but so far, nothing happens.) Amdaeng can hear distant voices on the other side of the door. They are speaking in Goblin.
As the topic of whether Halbert should join them in their meeting with the Serpent Queen, Jherak speaks up. “I have to agree with my friends. You’re welcome to accompany us, Halbert, but a new face in the meeting could meet us with setbacks. You understand, I’m sure.”
He holds up his coffee mug for a refill. As Ning and Amdaeng wander off, he uses it as the opportunity for a perception check on the prisoner and guards, noting the same warrior ate alone last night.
Perception-19
Jherak doesn’t need another ranged weapon. I encourage someone else to take it.
They are in an area called Execution Hill. Perhaps, he thinks, this man is to be executed. The guards have blue bands around their arms. Maybe guards of the district, escorting him. This could be his last meal.
Seeing Amdaeng go after Ning and then not return immediately has Zarbyn curious to know what could of captured their attention.
"What's Amdaeng found now?" Zarbyn will gesture for the group to follow.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
As the party enters the kitchen in search of Amdaeng, two things are immediately clear. The sisters and the rest of the kitchen staff have gone pale, shrinking back in fear—not of you, but of Ning. The black bear stands near a closed door, rising onto her hind legs to sniff at it before dropping back down, restless and tense. It’s impossible to tell whether she’s guarding the door or trying to force her way through it. One thing, however, seems certain:
One of the sisters turns to you, her voice tight with fear. “That door is used by a group of cultists—mostly goblins. They threatened to kill our Papa if we tried to bar their way. Their meeting place lies beyond it.” She swallows, glancing back at the door. “I think your friend followed one of them through.”
Lira studies the door for a long moment, then turns to Zarbyn. “Do you remember the pyramid,” she says quietly, “when you all rescued me—and the chest with the false bottom?”
She slips a hand into her pack and withdraws a few carefully wrapped items. “We found two things.” She pulls out a folded scrap of parchment first. Then she hesitates, fingers searching, before drawing out a key of yellowed bone. Its head is carved into a coiled serpent, fangs bared.
“The note marks a hidden entrance in Port Blacksand,” she murmurs. “A place the cultists use—a safehouse.” Her eyes flick back to the door. "I think this it?"
HALBERT
Halbert was attacked by a group of women, mostly Kobolds, "The Coven of Eternal Winter, the leader of which is a powerful woman named Shareella, the snow witch/ aka Ice Queen.
He is not sure what the group has stumbled onto, a cult of some sort.
OOC: This is the cult of the dragon king, a group that worships the Snake Demon Myurr. Your character does not know this yet, but Halbert has clearly stepped into a group of interesting people. A Cult, the wizard Niccodemus, the person they have mentioned, "Serpent Queen" they don't want him to visit with. What is this group involved with? Is the attacks in the north by the Coven part of some larger scheme? (YES)

Amdaeng doesn't hear any more sounds. Carefully studying the door and lock, her instincts tell her (Every time she has encountered goblins, there have been multiple traps (doors, chests, rooms).
Jherak consoles the women. “We will investigate what lies past this door. You needn’t worry about the bear, it means you no harm. Is there anything you can tell us about the goblins that may be of some use to us?”
"We've heard they worship a demon and sacrifice children. There are so many evil people in town of all sorts. But these goblins are extorting us. We don't allow them their little meeting area, they will kill Papa. They've been using it for about 3 months now."
The other one says, "There have been more of them in the last few weeks. They always seem very agitated, but with the weather growing colder, even more so."

Amdaeng just wait for the others to join her, she doesn't want to risk getting killed by a trap....
Zarbyn will slowly approach the door and say, "Easy Ning, is Amdaeng in there?" and gesture to open the door.

Vydar's eyes narrow and his jaw when the elf sisters tell their story. Of course Amdaeng went in there on her own. He nods to Lira's words, everything she'd said made sense, then he glances at Halbert who seems to be trying to get information about the father. He shakes his head, they don't have time for asking that sort of thing. If they are holding the father captive it will be pretty obvious who he is.
As soon as Ning moves out of the way, Vydar pushes the door open revealing the steps and the apparent dead end. Noting the stares seem to continue into the water, he glances back at the others, "There must be a flooded passage under the water that these goblins are using to get to wherever they are meeting." He walks down the steps and stares at the water for a moment. If Amdaeng was able to get through there he's sure whatever passage is down there is large enough for the rest of them as well. "Let's hurry up, Amdaeng might not fully realize what she's walked into."
Vydar takes a deep breath and attempts to swim through to the other side.
As Vydar leaves the kitchen, he points out the familiar symbol of the Cult of the dragon king.
Strange, he had just dreamed of the cult.
Vydar takes a breath, swims perhaps 10 feet and sees light ahead. Amdaeng sees Vydar head pop up on her side of the passage as he climbs up a few steps.

Knowing her luck with locks in the past she moves back into the water submergering until just her eyes and nose are above the surface and waits.....

sacrifice children?! we cannot let them! and what about your...Papa...is he a elf himself? what's his name? how does he look like?
