"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Hearing Zarbyn yell out, Lira forgets all caution and rushes forward to try grabbing onto Vydar as well. Her adrenaline gives her a sudden surge of strength as she tries to haul him back onto the relative safety of the thin bridge.
Between the group and the secured rope, Vydar does not fall. Lira, closest to the nest peers in. What catches her eye are not the fresh kobold remains, but the remains of elves. A screech tears at the sky as three flying figures dive at Lev, still on the other side with Morric
Lev hadn't run forward, seeing everyone else rush to Vydar's aid, he would only get in the way. He had taken a couple steps to the bridge before making that call though, unsure how best to move forward with the current situation. He lets out another sigh of relief once Vydar is in the clear. At least Morric had used the rope to help out, but would it be a good idea to do that whilst they all were on the bridge?
Then, he hears a screech from above, eyes widening as he sees something careening towards him from the sky. Instinctively he points his glaive upward, holding the end of the staff as low as he could to provide as much reach as possible. He grits his teeth, better that these things come for him than those on the bridge. With the already treacherous footing, fighting these things would drastically increase their chances of falling.
That in mind he takes a few steps back, hoping that the creatures will stay preoccupied with him rather than turning their attention to the figures on the bridge.
Noticing the elf corpses in the nest with a shiver, Lira reluctantly climbs onto the nest to check the bodies for anything useful or identifying on them.
Lira instantly notices that the most recent corpses are Kobolds (only one or two days old). Each of them has their chest torn open and is missing their heart. One of the female Kobolds still wears an Amulet that looks like hers, although the ice blue interior is a dull grey/ black color.
"A sister." For some reason, Lira feels great pain and sadness to see another imprisoned female, under the control of the necklace.
Lira finds a rolled up scroll on the female Kobold as well, and one bag with a potion in it.
One of the elves has a symbol on their rotting clothing identifying them as elves of the famed Darkwood Forest. Also, as she rummages quickly, she finds something shiny. She grabs it quickly and continues moving forward, intent to explore it later.
A huge creature with eagle like body and a stag head drops silently out of the fog above, goring Lev with its sharp horns. (18 to hit, 7 piercing damage). It then swoops back into the fog (no opportunity attack). A smaller youngling trails right after, missing with its smaller horned head but tearing into Lev's chest with sharp talons (24 to hit, 5 piercing damage).
Then as Vydar regains his foothold, a third youngling swoops toward him but misses and disappears under the bridge into the fog (no opportunity attacks).
(Currently there are no targets, so you will need to hold actions until they re-emerge, and likely use missile weapons unless they are in hand to hand range.)
Again, the unseen and silent assailants swoop in. Again, the large one (Peryton) attacks Lev but Lev is able to fend it off with his Glaive. The second smaller one swoops in right after, its sharp single horns stabbing into Lev (6 piercing damage) as it swoops away (Both Lev and Morric could attack the smaller one).
The third small one again attacks Vydar, its sharp claws piercing skin as it begins to fly off (5 piercing damage). (Vydar can attack it before it is out of range, Lira with missile weapon could get a hit.
(to clarify: creatures had a surprise attack. They are swopping back for round 1. Each of you may declare an action. So far, only when they hit are they in hand to hand range, so you may be better off with ranged attacks except maybe Lev (who uses his glaive). The creatures are targeting Lev and Vydar so far.)
Morric with strong stance to keep the rope taught, tied around his waste will ready a javelin in one hand and use his flail in the other in order to better the odds for an extra shot when they swoop in
Javelin: 12 to hit and 4 dmg if by some miracle it does.
if opportunity attack becomes available, the Flail: 19 to hit and a measly 4 dmg
Lev staggers backward, trying and failing to fend off the flurry of attacks. He coughs blood, gritting his teeth as he does his best to ignore the pain spiraling from his wounds into his limbs.
“Come on!” He yells at the ugly creatures. At least now he knows he wasn’t seeing things when he spotted that shape in the clouds. It doesn’t bother him one bit that he’s got the attention of these creatures… though why are they also targeting Vydar?
When one of the bird things misses, he takes a stab at it before it flies away (maneuver: Riposte)
Attack: 23 Damage: 4 superiority die: 12
He grips his glaive firmly, though something in the back of his mind says they would be better off using ranged weapons… no the glaive is all he needs. It’s better this way. Besides, they are most visible when they are right on top of him.
He narrows his eyes, widening his stance and preparing for another onslaught.
Lev is able to hit the creature with his glaive as it swoops away. Amdaengs blade hits the smaller creature attacking Vydar, grazing its wing.
Lira misses the evasive creature as it swoops into the fog below the bridge, and is able to get to solid ground which should increase her steadiness with the bow.
Morric throws a javelin at the creature but the angle is off and the fast bird like creature swoops in and out.
Zarbyn will Ready a spell, the trigger being the first Peryton he sees dive out of the misty fog, and the the spell being an Eldritch Blast cantrip.
18 to hit for 10 force damage.
"Mind your footing on the bridge!"

Vydar’s heart seems to stop for a moment as his legs are swept out from under him. The next thing he knows, Morric, Zarbyn and Lira are hauling him back onto the unstable bridge.
Barely having the time to catch his breath, he can’t even nod his thanks before a creature swoops towards Lev through the fog. It’s a good thing he’d been kneeling as another beast swoops over his head. Getting back to his feet, he recognizes these as the shadow he’d seen before getting on the bridge.
He doesn’t have time to dodge the creature’s next attack, or draw his sword. Gritting his teeth, he refuses to let the thing tear into him and get away unscathed.
Pointing at the creature he sends a trail of fire after it.
Firebolt to hit: 24
Damage: 3
With these things seeming to target him and Lev specifically, as well as what he’d seen in the nest, he comes to a conclusion.
“So you like the taste of Elves do you!” He yells, “Well come and get some more!” He prepares to cast another spell.
Vydar is able to make it to the other side as he is pestered by the smaller but still fierce bird like creature. He hits it squarely with his spell as it dives into the deep ravine below. Zarbyn glances back at Lev, only to see the largest of the group attack Lev a second time. This time he is ready, hitting it squarely with his magical blast.
Lira moves across the bridge and finds some cover.
Amdaeng notes a dead full-sized Peryton on the ground nearby by does not have time to search.
(NOTE: Depending on where you are on the map, you have about 50 feet visibility, thus those on one side of the bridge cannot see those on the other).
---------->Iólinder (round 1)
Rd 2: Pending Iólinder's action:
As expected the large eagle like creature comes in again at Lev, this time from behind him, hitting him squarely with sharp horns. (21 to hit, 5 piercing damage).
The smaller one comes in right after the first but misses Lev as he maneuvers out of the way
(Morric and Lev can act against these two)
On the other side of the bridge, they hear a piercing cry of a bird as from Vydars right, he is accosted again. However, between the three on land and Vydars firebolt, it misses its mark.
(Zarbyn can hit either the small creature attacking Vydar, or the other two attacking Lev. Amdaeng, Vydar, and Lira can attack the small damaged one.)
All can declare actions, Iólinder can declare two actions, one for last round, one for this round).
Seeing that there are two attacking Lev, one bigger than the other, Zarbyn will try to even the odds and fire a beam of crackling energy at the smaller one when it dives at Lev.
7 misses (nat 1)
"Lev needs help! He's being swarmed!"
