"You are indeed welcome to join us Morric as there will certainly be more goblins to thump before this is over."
Zarbyn helps guide the group to a secure campsite for a rest by relating what Twiggy has seen from high above.
"We should visit Silverton to seek the aid of the Healer, and while we're there try and find out just how to destroy these cursed artifacts. I don't like the idea of gathering too many in one location and making it easier for others to get their hands on them. Plus, we know exactly where the caches are while the others have to criss-cross the mountains searching for the correct locations. If they're following us to find the locations then our necessary diversion to Silverton will throw them off and delay them even further."
"What do the rest of you think?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"That makes sense to me. If we find no clues on how to destroy the artifacts there, we can head to Port Blacksand to consult the wizard there and use the wooden key we found in Cache 2."
Based on the map, you are 1/2 day travel to cache 4 and the valley between cache 4 and Silverton seems one of two logical ways to get there. The other would be to backtrack to the (blue) road from Silverton to Port Rentarn but as you have seen, this is more widely traveled by the cult and coven.
(OOC: Easiest is to hit 4 due to proximity, then decide Silverton or 5, then Silverton).
Amdaeng and Iólinder seem a bit worse for wear after their rest. Their wounds and bruises did not heal with rest, and required magical healing. By tomorrow, -3 max hp unless you use the balm given to you by Aisulu.
Looking over the large bow of Tseren that was given to the group, it is a Warbow: A long bow that is almost twice as thick as a normal bow. It uses very large arrows, Range: 200/600. Damage 1D10, Strength: 16 to draw the bow. If strength is 14, 15, -1 to hit and reduced range: 150/400)
Morric will take the warbow since no one else seems interested, he will fiddle with it a bit to get used to its pull. The orchard fight showed him he needs a better way to attack at range
"Cache 4 is close and pretty much on our way if we are going to try for Silverton. I say we go to cache 4 and afterward head to Silverton."
Zarbyn takes out the compass and gets a reading before putting it away again.
"Does anyone remember what Professor Storm's notes said about cache 4?"

The Fourth Cache. This cache was secured in an abandoned dwarven outpost used for treating ore that was being prepared for use in weapon and armor smithing. During their mining, veins of gold and silver may have been found here. My sources implied that the place had been overrun by something terrible and immortal, causing the dwarves to leave it centuries ago.
The Fifth Cache. At the top of the tallest summit of the Icefinger mountains, Stormy Peak is over 14,000 feet above the sea! One contact told me that there was an abandoned shrine once revered by giants. It is said you can see all of Allansia from this height, and that Dragons used to perch here. I’m certain a cache is hidden there. This will be quite a climb. I think the crampons, harnesses, and rope should help. Will need pitons and my hammer as well so we don’t fall to our death.
After summiting Stormy Peak, I think the quickest and safest way would be to go to Silverton and secure a boat downriver. Then a ship to Port Blacksand and finally the Red Road to Stonebridge.
After your rest and those needing to applying the balm to the wounds caused by the diseased rat creatures, the group continues across the ridge line. Several miles to your east, you see the palace built into the mountain you had explored a day earlier. You continue for several more hours and then begin to decent back down toward the valley floor. A massive snow covered mountain rises to the sky in front of you. The closer you get to it, the more you realize this may be the tallest mountain you have ever seen. The peak is covered in clouds.
(5pm). It is colder here as well, and you find that you need to put on your cloaks to stay warm from gusts of wind and blowing snow rising from the ground. As you go on, a sort of fog or mist obscures your view more than 50 feet.
You arrive at the approximate point on the map and look about for the outpost. Then, Lira picks out a sort of bridge ahead. It crosses a chasm and you cannot pick out the other side or how deep the descent is. (perception, survival, or intelligence)
Between the wind and the unknown depth, Lira is uneasy about crossing this bridge. However, the ropes seem fairly solid, the floor, made of old wood planks seems questionable. Dwarven decorative symbol is found on a small emblem stamped into the first plank.
Morric takes a good look at the bridge and tests out the first few planks. In addition, looking at the dwarvish symbol, Morric recognizes. Its the guild of dwarvish armorers called the Molten Shield Consortium.
The first plank seems to hold, and at least on both ends of the bridge, it should be stable. You suspect that as you move closer to the center, it will be less stable, with a greater chance of slipping. With the random gusts of wind, there is a chance someone could fall off the bridge.
“ Ahhh, the molten shield dwarfs. My father’s friend had a friend who’s cousin was part of the consortium. Good folks and outstanding craftsmen from what I heard. These planks seem ok, leastwise at the ends….we should be very careful. Maybe have the light folks go first… I am ab it ‘big boned’ and wouldn’t wanna make it harder fir everyone else to cross”
(give me a marching order....1 at a time, or 2. Can also position on Owlbear rodeo on the map. Also, how far apart is each person? Finally, do you take any safeguards in case of a mishap?)
The questionable rope bridge goes across a chasm of unknown depth at the moment. You can see about 50 feet ahead, and can't see the other side. There are gusts of wind blowing (which makes crossing more difficult, and the planks are covered in some snow and ice).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Amdaeng regarded the bridge dubiously, as she made sure Ning was securely fastened inside her jerkin, " Does anyone have the ability to magically repair stuff? Cos we might need that...."
" I can go first if you want."
" Someone want me to take a rope across.......do we have enough?"
Amdaeng, with years of practice in her training climbing and balancing on ropes is very confident in her own abilities, as long as the bridge does not collapse. Iolinder suggests tying a rope around her and then the group holding on while she tests the bridge.
Like a cat, Amdaeng holds the rope as she gently tests each board moving forward. The gust of wind rocks the bridge but she is ready for it and adjusts her balance accordingly.
After moving forward 25 feet, she sees something on the bridge in the fog ahead. It is large and seems to take up the width of the bridge.
Calling out to Amdaeng in order to be heard over the howling wind, "Is it safe? Can you see the other side?"
Zarbyn thinks it's probably best to only have one cross at a time.
Addressing those nearby, "Maybe we should only send one across at a time?"

Lev had intended to speak with Iolinder that night, but seems how the cleric and the monk as well were suffering from their wounds, he once again decided to wait. It wasn't like answers would change anything anyways, so might as well put it off whether he wanted to or not. He'll wait until a better opportunity arises, if one ever does.
When they approach the bridge he looks at it skeptically. It would be a death sentence if the thing snapped while they were in the middle of it. However, they may not have much choice unless they'd rather risk a large delay. He raises a hand as Amdaeng bolts off onto the rickety structure, but is too slow to object to her testing it. He sets his jaw, and then nods when Zarbyn recommends they should go one at a time.
"Perhaps we can space out who crosses, rather than wait for someone to reach the end," he adds after a moment. "Distribute the weight, but also keep close enough to potentially be a help as well."They could go as far as to tie themselves together in case someone fell through, but that might be more dangerous to the group as a whole so he doesn't voice that option.

Owlbear rodeo ROOM
Lira Survival: 20
Between the wind and the unknown depth, Lira is uneasy about crossing this bridge. However, the ropes seem fairly solid, the floor, made of old wood planks seems questionable. Dwarven decorative symbol is found on a small emblem stamped into the first plank.
"Well, the ropes seem like they'll hold. The boards not so much," Lira concludes, clearly not thrilled at the prospect of using the bridge.
Morric perception: 15
Morric try and see what he can see, then put a little weight on the closest plank to see if it holds his weight.
Morric takes a good look at the bridge and tests out the first few planks. In addition, looking at the dwarvish symbol, Morric recognizes. Its the guild of dwarvish armorers called the Molten Shield Consortium.
