Thanks for the information. Looks like you could use a martial character of some sort and possibly arcane or divine depending on the answer to my next question. Is the cleric/wizard more cleric or more wizard?
I have a few thoughts in mind depending on the answer. Could go Half-Elf Hexblade Warlock, Reborn Grave Cleric, or Half-Elf Bard (TBD subclass)
Go with what you like best is my advise. The plan for my build is to go about 1/3 cleric and 2/3 wizard. I don’t have it yet set in stone, though. I see her mostly artillery and support.
Name: Sabetha Rai (<-- link to dndbeyond character sheet... using 2014 5e rules, assuming that's correct) Race: High Half-Elf (again, assuming 2014 5e rules) Class: Monk (Way of Mercy) - with such high stats on the first roll, figured I'd choose the weakest mechanical class in the 2014 5e rules. Free Feat: Resilient - Constitution Background: Custom - Fugitive Faction Agent Backstory: See (first) spoiler below.
Born out of wedlock to a charming half-elven bard and a tavern maid (also a half-elf), Sabetha was raised by her grandfather in the High Forest. A retired Harper agent, devotee of Selune and Monk trained in the Way of Mercy. As the time came for her to set off on her own - for adventure - she felt herself more than ready. Exhilarated. Little did she know.
When Sabetha was sent to Waterdeep to join the Harpers, her first assignment was as a spotter for a covert infiltration. Targeting the villa of a rich and powerful family, the Cassalanters. A villa the Harpers were investigating, with rumors of human sacrifice and the presence of devils within. She had scaled the walls and hidden at her assigned spot in the outskirts of the villa grounds, taking down an imp disguised as a raven with her bow and waiting. Watching. But the operation had been compromised, Sabetha's friends and associates caught, tortured and turned. She was on the run from rich and ruthless people and things more fearsome than people. She had to put as much distance between herself and Waterdeep as she could - from the revenge of the Cassalanters and their hellish consorts. Somewhere no one would look for her.
And so Sabetha had fled from Waterdeep to Neverwinter to Luskan and then eastward, inland. Fearing pursuit always as she sought the far corners of the world to lose herself in. Past the Cragsmoot Mountains and into the Ravenswood. No fiends out here, surely? Just an unnatural stillness that feels wrong in the light of her faith in Selune. She enters Jaekin with an apprehension borne of months running for her life, yet the itch remains. To stay true to what being a Harper means, even though she no longer has a right to call herself one.
I like the looks of that 3rd set. Now to decide between the Hexblade or the Grave cleric.
In the original recruitment it says if your chosen background does not provide a feat, you may take one. I assume that is restricted to skilled or tough, or is that not the case?

No, we were allowed to choose any feat.
Also it turns out that our Life domain cleric is still with us, if that affects your decision.
Also, just as a review in case anyone didn't read the other posts:
Discord is a requirement as we discuss OOC and run combat in Discord
Out of combat ability checks and such can be posted in forums or rolled in Discord and explained in the RP forum.
We are pretty lenient on the every 24 hour post until we are in combat.
Here is the link to the RP Thread if anyone would like to skim (or fully read) what has occurred thus far: The Murder Court
Bouncing back and forth between here and Discord makes this a no go for me, sorry to waste your time with the earlier questions. Happy gaming to those playing.

I will say that it isn't decided yet and you may yet have a chance to join. That said, for good chances to join the campaign (here and in other recruitment posts) you should read the first post for instruction on how to apply and craft your post accordingly, usually by creating character and write down a backstory. Better yet, for even better chances, you follow the link to the original recruitment thread and read the information on the setting and specific rules about character creation, and incorporate that information into your story.
As an example, this post is a good way to ask for joining the campaign.
We have one spot still available, so seeing what character you plan to play along with a backstory (bonus points if you tie it into why they are in Jaekin!) will be a big factor in our decision on the last addition.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Okay, I'm intrigued. I like the concept and the folks you have here. Going to roll 3 sets of ability scores and see what happens. I may repurpose a character that I started that I would like to play further with... here goes.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Born in a dwarven stronghold, Grymar was always an outsider among his kin, orphaned at a young age and left to fend for himself on the streets. While most dwarves spent their days crafting weapons and armor, Grymar found himself drawn to the natural world. He spent his days exploring the nearby forests and mountains, learning all he could about the plants and animals that lived there. Despite his love of nature, Grymar never forgot his dwarven heritage. He became an expert in tracking and hunting, using his skills to provide food for himself and his close friends (few though they were).
Grymar’s life took a dramatic turn when he discovered a unique bond with a swarm of bees that had taken up residence in a nearby forest. He found that he could almost communicate with the bees and use their abilities to aid him in his hunting and tracking. Grymar became fascinated with these creatures and began to study them in depth, learning all he could about their behaviors and habits. He had similar interests with swarms of birds and he practiced the sounds of toads to ease his boredom at night.
Despite his success and skills, Grymar still struggled to find acceptance among his fellow dwarves. They saw his love of nature as a weakness and often mocked him for his unconventional methods, and his poor hygiene. Grymar didn't let their words get to him, however, and continued to fight for what he believed in. When times were difficult, he learned to navigate the dangerous alleyways and pickpocket from unwary merchants if necessary in order to survive.
Grymar has traveled to Ravenswood and explored the forest and part of the base of the Cragsmoot mountains, but he wanders into Jaekin to learn the lay of the land and obtain supplies, he sits in a tavern and hears rumors of this "Murder Court". Hearing the plight of Jaekin he seeks to learn a little more, looking for anyone who is available to help the mayor and the miners who live there...
