Koohe sneaks into the room with Ginko; the halflings are attempting to see anything at all, or hear anything at all, but they don't. One stares right at Koohe, but that is just by chance; they can't see a thing.

OOC did we know they had prisoners? How do Kobolds generally feel about halflings? Are we going to rescue to play with them?
Koohe puts a quiet finger to her mouth in a Shh gesture (or whatever is equivalent for a Kobold) in case its only pretending not to see her. Persuasion or Deception (roll is the same) 15 if needed.
(You did not know that they had prisoners, but you do know that goblins often take prisoners to be exchanged for goblin prisoners, or failing that as food. As you are Underdark kobolds and halflings are generally purely surface-worlders you don't have any experience with halflings, so if anything they're alien to you. As for what you do with them, that's up to you; you could of course kill them, or let them go, or try to befriend them, or just leave them for the goblins to deal with.)
The halfling that seemed to be looking at Koohe, on further inspection, was just looking through her in the pitch darkness.

Before the others opened the slave pen door Moss will have left the compound to report on the progress to Lady Yusdrayl. Moss will take one of the inactive characters with them from the larder.
OOC I think we should - enemy of my enemy, more friends allies.
Seeing Traxx look about as well and seem to be considering lighting the room, she will nod an affirmative to him. It should give us a slight advantage to anything we may have missed with the sudden light change.
She prepares to persuade the halflings as this may startle them - Persuasion 23
(Deep gnomes and halflings are probably okay with each other, even if they don't encounter one another that often.)
Traxx, touching a cobblestone in the wall, lights up the room. The halflings are surprised, and look as if they are about to panic, but are calmed somewhat by Koohe's peaceful demeanor.

Traxx walks over to the halflings and tries to calm them down and reassure them that they are safe.
"Everything will be alright. We are going to free you. The goblins are gone but there are still some around, so don;t wander. After a few questions, one of us will lead you out of here.
First question: How did you get here?
Second question: Do you know how long you have been here?
Koohe pulls some food from her pack and splits it among them after they've answered some of the questions (about half her rations). Then after a few more, about half her water among them. She will look back towards Traxx to keep their attention on him though. He obviously is familiar with their race. (If he is speaking in Halfling, I wouldn't not understand, but in Common I will, so acting accordingly) Traxx would also be aware of 8 javelins and 2 spears I carry that I could easily spare should they need a weapon/walking stick for now.
The halflings are overjoyed! They eagerly answer your questions and more. "I'm Theobald Underfoot, my friends here are Timothy Proudmead and Gruffo Goodbody. The three of us were just having a pleasant evening smoking pipe tobacco after second supper on our farm on the outskirts of the town of Oakhurst when suddenly we were beset on all sides by those vicious green good-for-nothings! Seeing nowhere to hide or escape we tried to put up a fight but we didn't have no weapons and in the end we were hog-tied and taken away down into a crevice in the earth, the last light we saw before you came we was entering some kind of a battlement? After that it were dark and we didn't see which way we was going, it felt like we walked miles. Without the sun to count we don't right know how long we've been down here, maybe a week or more? We don't know anything in specific about this place, there were always rumors of a lost castle at the bottom of the ravine along the old road from Oakhurst, sometimes adventurous sorts would go looking for it but we don't know nothing about it other than this must be it."
The halflings eagerly accept Koohe's water and food, even though under normal circumstances they would have a hard time getting kobold food down.
After a pause, one of the other halflings asks "So... When are we getting out of these chains?"
Ginko is going to sit down and play with his empty watering can while waiting for the boring people to talk! He's going to shake it around and tip it over.

"Well then friends," she says in common, " They are rough, but I have some javelins (8) and spears(2) I've gathered from Goblins we've defeated within this place. You're welcome to any or all of them if they are useful. I do have some bandages and will do what I can for your wounds, but we should get you to a healer." She will tend to any wounds she sees with her very limited Medicine skill :

What's with that door at the other side of the room anyway? I'm a little spooked with this place. While everyone's exchanging greetings (and bandages) I'll get over to the door and see if I can hear anything on the other side or make anything out through the keyhole.
That would be an Investigation roll? 20 if so. Ouch. :)
Theobald is miraculously cured, while the others are still in bad shape, but able to walk. The two weakened halflings take spears to use as makeshift walking sticks, while Theobald takes the javelins.
You don't yet know a route through the dungeon to the surface so that's out.
Yellow-Spine looks through the keyhole to the south and sees a hallway with another door on the other side.

(Sorry to see you go. : ( Happy games elsewhere!)
Best wishes to you!
Moss left prior to Koohe opening the prison door, so Ginko wil give Moss his shears when he leaves.
(** Traxx has superior dark vision so he can see in the room clearly. What is the relationship between Deep gnomes and halflings?)
Traxx walks up to the southern door and peeks in. He can see the halflings chained up. He is unsure how to handle this situation at the moment.
"Traxx whispers... Do you want me to cast light into the room? They could give us valuable information about this complex."

Finally one of them speaks. "...who are you?"
Then another: "What happened to the goblins?"
The third: "Are we your prisoners now?"
The halflings seem battered and malnourished.
Traxx walks over to the halflings and tries to calm them down and reassure them that they are safe.

With a look at the others for any objection, Koohe will start working on the locks rolls :
Lock 1 16
lock 2 12
lock 3 13
Not sure why there is trouble with the last roll - trying again lock 3 12
and now it works ^^
Koohe easily undoes the locks keeping the halflings restrained; they stand with some difficulty, as if their muscles are out of practice.
