((Yuno already got a ton of GP so I'm just going to pretend the 30GP is part of the rewards already stated previously.))
Yuno shrugs in her casual manner. She leans back on the bar stool in a relaxed manner and says, "Sure. I wasn't gonna do anything with it. Though I didn't know Ash Wolves were into cult shit. Did you know they were in to cult shit? Because I didn't. Anyway, I can tell you where the fort is if you want to go check it out yourself or something. I think I killed most of the dudes in there but there's a few still left."
Zim runs into Varnak at The Grove. "How are your experiments going?" Zim asks, genuinely curious and wanting to engage in an arcane discussion. "What do you know of magic?" Varnak snaps back. Zim taken off-guard replies from his heart. "I'm a farmer, driven from my lands by undead. I know about crops and soil. The magic of toiling in dry dirt to make food from the air, earth, and wind. Food that when I eat it becomes fire in my belly so that I can work harder and mold the land to my will. What more is magic than this?" Zim proudly walks away from the rude wizard without waiting for a response.

Fuifui, having heard of Evelyn’s display of magic weapons, made her way to the shop with interest. After browsing the selection, her eyes settled on a finely crafted dagger, shimmering faintly with arcane energy. Without hesitation, she purchased it, eager to test its capabilities. With her new weapon in hand, Fuifui set out once again into the Darkwood Forest. The familiar thrill of the hunt filled her as she moved silently through the trees, ready to see how the magic dagger would perform in battle.
The forest was eerily quiet, with only the soft rustling of leaves and the faint echo of distant creatures breaking the stillness. Fuifui, hidden within the dense underbrush, moved like a shadow, her stealth impeccable. Her keen eyes fixed on the massive form of a Manticore perched ahead and feasting on a recent kill, its spiked tail twitching as it surveyed the area occasionally, oblivious to her presence.
== Fuifui Surprise Round == Taking advantage of the beast’s distraction, Fuifui gripped her newly acquired magic dagger and sprang into action. In one fluid motion, she launched the dagger at the Manticore’s exposed flank. The blade found its mark, slicing deep into the creature’s tough hide, drawing a pained roar from it. Without wasting a moment, Fuifui followed up with a quick flurry of punches, her fists striking with the force of her honed Ki. The first punch landed clean, sending shockwaves through the beast, though her second strike glanced off its tough exterior.
== Round 1 == The Manticore, now fully aware of the danger, turned to face her. Fuifui, her confidence growing, attempted another strike with her dagger, but the beast shifted just in time, causing her to miss. Undeterred, she unleashed another round of swift kicks, one landing hard against the Manticore’s ribs. The beast staggered, but remained standing, fury burning in its eyes. The Manticore retaliated with a vicious snap of its jaws, that would have sunk its teeth deep into Fuifui’s shoulder had she not deflected it in the last moment. She winced at the effort, but deflected two following claw swipes easily, her speed and training keeping her out of harm's way. The beast snarled in frustration.
== Round 2 == Recovering from the bite that nearly unbalanced her, Fuifui focused and struck again, driving her dagger deep into the Manticore’s side. The creature roared in agony as the blade cut through muscle and bone. She swung a follow-up punch but missed, her focus momentarily slipping. The Manticore lunged at her again, but its strikes were clumsy, driven by pain and rage. Each attack missed, giving Fuifui a moment to catch her breath and plan her next move.
== Round 3 == Fuifui saw her opportunity and moved in, grappling the beast with lightning speed. Her hands locked around its limbs, holding it in place as it thrashed against her iron grip. The Manticore, now restrained and unable to land its usual devastating attacks, snapped its jaws and swiped furiously, but only one of its claw strikes got close at finding purchase—a strike that what would have raked across Fuifui’s side and certainly would have inflicted a critical injury, yet she deflected at barely and with great effort.
== Round 4 == Gritting her teeth, Fuifui drove her dagger once more into the beast’s body, the blade sinking deep. She followed up with a powerful punch, rattling the Manticore. Its body weakened, its strength waning. Noting that the battle didn't go in its favour, with a final surge of strength, the Manticore managed to break free from Fuifui’s grapple, spreading its wings and launching into the air, desperate to escape, but Fuifui was ready. As it took off, she lashed out with one final strike, calling on her Ki for a deadly blow. Her fist connected, sending a pulse of necrotic energy into the creature. The Manticore shrieked in pain, its body weakening even more but it did manage to take off and get to a safe distance 20 feet up into the air.
== Round 5 == Determined not to let it escape, Fuifui sprinted forward 30 feet directly under the monstrosity for the shortest possible distance, her eyes locked on the Manticore now hovering just above. With a final, calculated move, she hurled her magic dagger upward with all her strength. The blade spun through the air and struck true, burying itself deep into the Manticore’s chest.
The beast let out one last, anguished cry before plummeting from the sky, crashing down on top of Fuifui with a heavy thud. The impact winded her slightly, but she rolled out from under the fallen creature, victorious.
Her body bruised but her resolve unbroken, Fuifui stood over the lifeless Manticore, her breath steadying. She had won.

Fuifui considered turning back to town, her previous victory fresh in her mind. She had earned the right to rest, but something pulled her forward. Her body, resilient and still filled with strength thanks to her uncanny metabolism, felt ready for more. The forest was full of danger, and she knew there were still threats lurking nearby. After a brief moment of reflection, she decided to continue her hunt.
As she moved cautiously through the underbrush, a shadow shifted in the corner of her vision. The sleek, ominous form of a Displacer Beast emerged from the shadows, its tendrils twitching as it spotted her approach. Fuifui tensed, knowing that this creature would be a much tougher challenge.
The Displacer Beast turned toward her, and Fuifui charged without hesitation, closing the gap in an instant. Her dagger gleamed as it cut through the air, landing a solid blow despite the creature's illusory nature. Following up with a swift, well-placed punch, she struck the beast again, causing it to recoil.
The creature retaliated with a vicious swipe of its tentacles. Fuifui twisted just in time, deflecting much of the impact with her practiced technique, but the beast's claws grazed her, drawing blood. Ignoring the pain, she kept her focus sharp. She knew this was a battle of endurance.
Without pause, she lunged forward again, her dagger cutting deep into the Displacer Beast’s hide. A follow-up punch struck true, causing the creature to falter. It swung its tentacles wildly, but Fuifui was ready, deftly deflecting the blows and sidestepping the rest, maintaining her composure even as the beast fought back with ferocity.
Seeing an opportunity, Fuifui shifted tactics. She leapt forward, locking her arms around the beast in an attempt to grapple it into submission. Her strength proved greater than the creature’s, and she managed to hold it for a brief moment. But the Displacer Beast, thrashing with desperate energy, broke free of her grip and backed away, snarling.
Unfazed, Fuifui pressed her attack once more, her dagger finding its mark again and again. Her fists followed, hammering into the creature’s form. The Displacer Beast, now wounded, tried in vain to strike back, but its attacks lacked precision. Fuifui deflected each tentacle that lashed out, dodging effortlessly as the beast struggled to hit its elusive opponent.
Then, with a flurry of strikes, Fuifui unleashed a devastating combination. Her dagger drove deep into the creature's side, and in a flash, she followed up with a critical strike, her Ki flowing through her fist. The power of the blow sent a pulse of necrotic energy through the Displacer Beast, its body convulsing as the damage tore through it. The creature staggered, barely standing.
Desperate, the Displacer Beast attempted another strike, but its movements were sluggish. Fuifui easily avoided its final attacks, stepping around the flailing tentacles with the grace of a seasoned warrior. With a swift, final motion, she brought her dagger down one last time, piercing the creature's side and ending the fight.
The beast collapsed to the ground, its body still and lifeless. Fuifui, though bruised and bloodied, stood victorious. She took a deep breath, feeling the thrill of the battle slowly fade as the forest returned to its natural, eerie quiet.
She had pushed herself to the limit once again, and this time, she had emerged triumphant.

Gilgwyn Erdi was born to a human family of artisans in a quiet village, where she quickly took to both music and crafting. Her charisma and natural talent made her a beloved figure among her peers. She trained as a smith, woodcarver, and tinker, crafting tools and instruments, while also honing her divine magic under the guidance of a local priest. Her connection to both the forge and her faith became one, and she took up the mantle of a cleric, dedicated to the preservation of creation and the beauty of life.
A master of her craft, she wears heavy armor she forged herself, reinforced with intricate designs that tell the story of her travels. Her quarterstaff, also self-made, is adorned with carvings of Elven and Dwarvish runes, a testament to the languages she’s learned.
On her way to the mystical town of Evergreen Hollow, where she seeks to further her craft and learn the magic of balance and peace, she must first pass through the treacherous Silverwood Forest. Armed with her faith and her creations but little else, she faces the shadows and illusions of the corrupted forest, knowing that peace often requires the strength to face the darkness.
As Gilgwyn Erdi treaded cautiously through the Silverwood Forest, the air grew thick with unease. The shadows played tricks on her eyes, but she pushed forward, determined to reach Evergreen Hollow. With a whispered prayer, she invoked divine protection, casting Protection from Evil and Good, feeling a shield of holy energy envelop her. She knew the dangers that lurked here, but nothing could have prepared her for the sudden sight of three skeletons emerging from the shadows, their bones clattering as they spotted her. Though two of the skeletons were momentarily surprised, the third drew its sword and rushed her. She sprinted forward, closing the gap, her armored form clanking as she dashed straight toward the skeleton. Its sword swung at her, but the divine magic she had summoned caused its strike to falter and miss.
Without hesitation, Gilgwyn raised her quarterstaff and swung with a mighty two-handed strike. The impact shattered the skeleton's brittle bones, sending them scattering to the ground in a heap. She didn’t stop to admire her handiwork—there were two more to deal with. She charged forward toward the next. The remaining two skeletons attacked, but their strikes were wild and clumsy, their arrows and swords missing or bouncing off her armor as her holy shield protected her. Gilgwyn focused on the first, spinning her staff and delivering a crushing blow that cracked its ribs, sending it staggering back.
Before she could land another strike, the skeleton’s sword found a weak spot, piercing her side. She winced in pain but kept her concentration, determined not to lose her divine protection. With a final, forceful swing, her staff smashed through the skeleton’s skull, reducing it to dust. Breathing heavily, she glanced at the final skeleton, which was already closing in. Her hand glowed as she whispered a healing word, mending her wounds and renewing her strength. With renewed resolve, she faced the last undead, its sword clashing uselessly against her armor.
With one last mighty swing of her staff, Gilgwyn shattered the final skeleton, bones flying in every direction as the forest fell eerily silent. Panting, she took a moment to gather her breath and rummaged through the remains. Among the shattered bones, she found three rusty, but usable, short swords, their three bows and three skulls, which she had heard are in high demand at her destination. Not much, but it would suffice, especially because it would be easy for her to bring them back into pristine shape as soon as she could get the tools in town. With a weary smile, Gilgwyn straightened, took a deep breath, and continued her journey toward Evergreen Hollow, leaving the remains of her enemies behind, the shadows of the Silverwood still lurking at her back.

After her first battle in the Silverwood Forest, Gilgwyn made her way to Evergreen Hollow, her heavy armor clinking with each step as she carried the spoils from her fight. Once within the town's towering trees and enchanted walkways, she wasted no time. She sold the rusty swords and bows she had scavenged from the skeletons, pocketing a few gold pieces in return. With her hard-earned coin, she visited the local market, purchasing new supplies—sturdy artisan's tools, a shield, a flute, and enough rations to last her through another excursion into the forest.
With only a single gold coin left, Gilgwyn wandered into the tavern, a cozy establishment nestled within the hollow of a great oak. She handed her last coin to the innkeeper and secured a small room for the night, eager to rest after her exhausting day. But before retiring, she made her way to the local shrine. It was a simple but serene place, adorned with symbols of peace and balance. Kneeling before the altar, she offered a prayer of gratitude for the divine protection that had carried her through the dangers of the Silverwood.
With her heart and body both restored, she finally lay down to rest, letting the soft glow of the enchanted town lull her into sleep.
The following morning, refreshed and resolute, Gilgwyn ventured back into the Silverwood, determined to earn more coin. She knew the forest well enough by now and moved with practiced caution, her armor gleaming as the morning light filtered through the twisted trees. As before, the forest did not disappoint.
Three skeletons appeared once more, their hollow eyes glinting with malice. Gilgwyn was ready.
She dashed forward, her quarterstaff at the ready, and caught the first two skeletons by surprise. Their arrows whizzed past her, unable to find purchase against the divine aura she had summoned once more. With a mighty swing, she shattered the first skeleton into a pile of bones before advancing on the next.
The second skeleton fought fiercely, its sword clashing against her armor, but she countered with a devastating strike, breaking it apart in a flurry of shattered bone. Though injured by a well-placed arrow, she called upon her magic, healing her wounds with a whispered prayer as she moved to face the final skeleton.
The last undead, still firing arrows, was no match for her. Her quarterstaff struck true, crushing it in a single, powerful blow.
With the battle over, she scavenged the remains, collecting three swords, bows, and the skulls as proof of her victory. Laden with spoils once more, Gilgwyn made her way back to town, her heart lighter and her coin purse a little fuller. The forest might be filled with danger, but Gilgwyn knew that each victory brought her closer to her goal.

Back at the tavern, Yuno walks in to the bar. She tells Liam, "Gonna need a bath and some ice cream. Had a wild adventure taking on a bandit base... or was it a cult base... Eh they were both." She plops a bloody bag on the bar table in front of Liam. It has the heads of some cultists, their robes and the Shadow Demon's head. She then starts to regale him with tales of the adventure she had. She also mentioned the diary but in her own careless way, "Also found the journal of someone named Helga. Talked about weird spoopy demon shit." She waves the bloodied journal and says, "I brought it with me in case someone wanted to read it themselves."
Liam grabs ahold of Helga's journal with both hands, squeezing it as he fights away tears. "Aye, do ye mind not getting blood on the bar?" Liam looks in the bag and can identify the heads, "I know these blokes. Them be Ash Wolves. I'll pay bounties for these four bandits."
He removes the bloody bag from the room and tosses a small pouch with 30 gp.
"I'll take this journal too."
In the common room, paging through his own time of shadows to seek out any further spells hidden in the codex that was the elementals skin, Cor sees Yuno’s return and the bag of heads that is quickly taken of the bar.
He has stayed out of the way of that one, a dangerous energy and wanton love of violence stirring some deep instinct of danger in him.
When they leave, he comes to the bar. “Demons?” he asks. “Might be one to show Syrah — and if there’s ever some further investigation into the work of these cultists, it might be that I can be of some aid too, if a larger party of work should be undertaken then count me in.”

That said, he retires and in the morning seeks to head once more towards the burial ground. Discussions around Evergreen Hollow have revealed to him that there is another approach along a trail he has not yet seen, one that leads the lairs of dangerous wild creatures, but may lead him closer to the deeper and more mysterious heart of the burial ground.

The journey goes surprisingly well. Through no particular skill of his own Cor spends 12 hours wandering through thick woodland and though there are signs of webbing, and wolf tracks, and once he hears a chorus of wolf howls, he sees no hair of a creature.
Eventually he reaches a place where the forest opens up, or rather a clearing forms where the wall is woven from trees that must have been manced into their shape by the dead elves long buried here. It must mark the boundary to the burial ground proper he realises. Though, as he steps beyond and sees 4 zombies in rotten, old-fashioned elven clothes it becomes quite clear in any case.
With filmy eyes, he sees them long before they see him and with a click of his fingers, the Sphinx of Wonder appears.
Cor hesitates. In this sacred ground, with the bodies of fallen elves before him, he is struck once again by the horror of his circumstances. But then, is it not one more woeful mystery that buried elves, laid loyally to rest should now be forced to undead anguish, despite the rites and promises of the pantheon?
His musings let the Zombies begin to march towards Cor and his familiar.

Gilgwyn had heard the tales of a terrifying creature prowling the depths of the Darkwood Forest—a ferocious hybrid of owl and bear, an owlbear. The promise of a hefty bounty from Warden Thorne spurred her on, and she set out with purpose, preparing herself for what could be the most dangerous hunt of her life.
As she made her way deeper into the forest, Gilgwyn spotted the massive creature lurking among the trees. With feathers as black as night and a body rippling with muscle, the owlbear’s presence was unmistakable. Drawing upon her arcane knowledge, she cast Expeditious Retreat, feeling the surge of speed course through her. She needed every advantage to stay ahead of this beast.
The owlbear, however, was swift. With a thunderous roar, it charged toward her, its powerful legs carrying it across the forest floor with alarming speed. Gilgwyn, quick-thinking, scattered caltrops in her path, hoping to slow the creature down. As the beast thundered forward, it tripped on the sharp spikes, momentarily halted by the piercing pain.
Using the precious seconds she’d gained, Gilgwyn dashed through the woods, keeping her distance while preparing her longbow. She loosed an arrow, watching as it struck true, radiant energy flaring as it pierced the owlbear’s hide. But the creature was relentless—it shook off the pain and continued its pursuit.
Time and time again, Gilgwyn set caltrops, each time buying herself enough distance to take careful aim and fire another arrow, her radiant strikes slowly wearing the beast down. Despite its size and strength, the owlbear was no match for her tactical precision. Each time it drew close, it was slowed, its thick legs stumbling over her traps.
The battle was long, the beast’s cries echoing through the trees, but Gilgwyn remained undeterred. Her arrows flew true, each strike fueled by her determination to bring the creature down. After what seemed like an eternity of cat and mouse, the owlbear, bloodied and limping, let out one final, piercing shriek as her arrow sank deep into its chest, radiant energy exploding in a final burst of light.
With the owlbear defeated, Gilgwyn stood victorious, collecting its pelt as proof of her hard-earned triumph. Exhausted but proud, she returned to town, ready to claim her reward from the Warden. The legend of the owlbear would now include the name of the cleric who brought it down.
After a few restful days in Evergreen Hollow, Gilgwyn decided to venture into the Darkwood Forest once again, hoping for an easier hunt. Her approach was calm, more relaxed than usual, as she sought smaller prey to keep her skills sharp. She cast Armor of Agathys and Shield of Faith, feeling the protective magic cloak her as she strode confidently through the ancient trees, her shield raised, and her quarterstaff in hand.
But the Darkwood had other plans. Out of nowhere, a Peryton—a vicious predator with the head of a stag and the wings of a bird—swooped down from the canopy, catching her completely by surprise. Its talons lashed out, but the magic of her armor repelled the attack, sending a chilling wave of cold into the beast. The Peryton shrieked in pain and ascended back into the air.
Gilgwyn barely had time to collect herself before the creature dove again, talons extended. This time, its talons dug deep, piercing through her magical defenses. The cold of her armor lashed out again, leaving the Peryton reeling. She winced but managed to keep her concentration, muttering a quick incantation under her breath as she unleashed Mind Sliver. The magical assault cut through the creature’s thoughts, leaving it vulnerable.
Each time the Peryton attacked, it felt the sting of her defensive magic, the cold seeping into its wings and talons. But it kept coming, relentless in its assault, diving and retreating in an endless cycle. Gilgwyn held firm, even as the creature's sharp talons tore at her defenses. Again and again, she called upon her magic, casting Armor of Agathys to restore her icy shield.
As the Peryton descended for what seemed to be another brutal assault, Gilgwyn readied her quarterstaff. She could feel the exhaustion setting in, but her resolve was unshaken. With a precise strike enhanced by a burst of radiant energy from her True Strike spell, she swung her quarterstaff just as the Peryton closed in. The weapon connected with a sickening crack, the radiant energy coursing through the beast and knocking it out of the sky.
The Peryton collapsed at her feet, defeated. Breathing heavily, Gilgwyn wiped the sweat from her brow and collected the creature’s bounty, satisfied that even a casual hunt in the Darkwood could prove dangerous. With the carcass in tow, she made her way back to town, eager to claim her reward and perhaps enjoy another well-earned rest.

== Fuifui Surprise Round ==
Taking advantage of the beast’s distraction, Fuifui gripped her newly acquired magic dagger and sprang into action.
== Round 1 ==
The Manticore, now fully aware of the danger, turned to face her.
== Round 2 ==
Recovering from the bite that nearly unbalanced her, Fuifui focused and struck again, driving her dagger deep into the Manticore’s side.
== Round 3 ==
Fuifui saw her opportunity and moved in, grappling the beast with lightning speed.
== Round 4 ==
Gritting her teeth, Fuifui drove her dagger once more into the beast’s body, the blade sinking deep.
== Round 5 ==
Determined not to let it escape, Fuifui sprinted forward 30 feet directly under the monstrosity for the shortest possible distance, her eyes locked on the Manticore now hovering just above.

Encounter table 103: 67
