Etriel Darastrix leads the bears towards the sled, keeping them away of targets they might attack.
"If we load the sled - or at least the cargo - on the wagon, the return trip should be quicker, with these strong creatures pulling..." the foreign traveler explains.
Although the bears are not violent towards you, they do not want to be led by you. You get the feeling that if you start trying to force them towards more servitude, they will start to treat you with the same hostility they were showing towards the goblins
Although the bears are not violent towards you, they do not want to be led by you. You get the feeling that if you start trying to force them towards more servitude, they will start to treat you with the same hostility they were showing towards the goblins
Etriel Darastrix then gives up on the idea of using the Bears to pull the wagon and accompanies them a bit in the direction of the goblins - at least enough to be sure that, once freed, they will chase the goblins instead of the party - then lets them go.
"Now the goblins should have some problems to take care of, before they can bother us again..." the foreign traveler points out "We have the sled with the cargo. Let's start the return journey."
The goblins were fleeing. Now they are trying harder to flee but the bears are faster than the goblins and you think that in a couple of minutes, those goblins will be dealt with. And hopefully the bears will be satisfied with freedom to leave you all alone.
You are able to pull them yourself, but it's hard work. Easier for you as a party than the goblins which is positive. I will need a constitution saving throw from anyone helping pull (and it needs at least 3 of you, in any combination. 900lbs total and you each have a dragging capacity between 300 and 450)
Bless would not work here as this save is representative of the whole travel back and not something covered by one minute.
That being said you still all pass and therefore none of you suffer from exhaustion. The ingots have made it back to town and you are all ready for a long rest, with it now being past midnight. The dwarves are asleep but you are able to find somewhere safe (enough) to leave the cart overnight.
Etriel Darastrix is pleased with another success of her "group of traveling companions" and falls serenely into the elven trance that, for her race, is equivalent to sleep.
The foreign traveler dreams of docile and trained polar bears that pull wagons without difficulty along the snows, making transportation (and even possible pleasure trips) easier... and even if the next day the dream probably isn't already a reality, she already imagines that perhaps, with the right pinch of magic, in the future all this will be possible.
The eladrin huntress, however, can't wait to return the sled to the dwarves and resume the journey towards the mysterious wreck that was the original destination!
Danon gives a great sigh of relief upon their return, he goes into a routine of stretches to avoid cramping and he starts to massage his muscles. He does some jumps and short sprints to keep limber, ready for the next set of events. He looks to Etriel, saying "M'lady. How would you like to play this? Wait until morning and then show our bounteous fortune? Or wake them up now and risk dwarven grumpiness? What feats shall we accomplish next?" He smiles a crooked smile at her and gives a bow, then turns and smiles, laughs to the rest of his companions.
Etriel Darastrix smiles back at Danon with amusement: "Oh, sweet guest of my soul, your courtesy is worthy of the court of the Hill of Living Stars in the presence of my father, the esteemed Lord Soveliss Laïlonell!"
The memory of the mild environment of those hills of the Feywild, in their perennial spring where the nights are made more magical by the numerous fireflies, similar to stars, but, in fact, more alive, closer and approachable, lingers for a few moments in the mind of the foreign traveler. It is not a moment of nostalgia... but of comparison. The prime material plane, with its harshness, but also its variety, is so different... And yet, it is a diversity that, if embraced rather than despised, can enrich...
Returning to the question that was asked of her, Eladrin Huntress evaluates: "I don't think it makes any difference to our clients, whether they receive the cargo now or tomorrow morning... Let's rest and proceed tomorrow with our delivery".
In the morning, you return the 300 ingots to the dwarves who are extremely grateful. You are each handed a bloodstone worth 50gp as promised, and they suggest you follow them to the ingot's destination, Blackiron Blades (a shop and forge in the town). The owners (Garn and Elza, Dwarven siblings) are also very grateful and give you a lifetime 10% discount at their shop. Garn sells all manor of weapons, and occasionally armour. Elza sells adventuring supplies—including rations, cold weather gear, ice picks, and possibly where you brought your snowshoes.
Neldak will catch up and help extinguish the wagon.

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Danon looks to see what the goblins are doing, if they are continuing to run away or if they are forming up for a counterattack.

"If those goblins can push it, so can we. It's too bad those polar bears couldn't help but they aren't really beasts of burden."

[[ OOC: The best constitution saving throws are Cirim, Etriel and Neldak... we should probably roll first. Do we know what the DC is, by the way? ]]
Etriel Darastrix does his best to push the sled consistently, breathing in time with his efforts to feel less fatigued and tire more slowly...
Etriel Darastrix's constitution saving throw: 15
(dc varies, it gets lower the more people pull as it gets easier, but then more of you risk failing. DC15 for 3, dc13 for 4 and DC10 for 5)

[Would Bless work here?
Whenever a target makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target adds 1d4 to the attack roll or save.
If so I'll cast bless on Etriel, Neldak and myself
]
Con: 16 + 2 (bless) = 18
Con: 21 (dirty 20 +1 from bless)
Great! It seems we all did the save!
Cirim will continue to concentrate on Bless for the next minute in case we need more saves!
