Etriel Darastrix greets the grateful dwarves, both those she already knows and the merchants she has just met, with courtesy, and wishes them safe travels from now on.
After that, the foreign traveler is ready to resume her journey towards the mysterious ship that is her original destination... Who knows what the next stop will be? And if once again it will be a stop where someone will need the help of travelers accustomed to danger? Her green eyes travel one by one over the faces of her traveling companions, with whom she is deepening a bond with a rapidity... unusual for elven standards. With Danon, especially, the last on whom the eladrin huntress's eyes rest - and the one on whom they linger the longest... the sweet guest of her soul...
Neldak will briefly glance over the weapons and armor, but then focus on the other supplies. He'll buy 10 days worth of rations and see what the others might purchase. After shopping he'll say to the others. "Shall we head out towards Targos? That's the next town on our way towards that ship."
Leaders. Speaker Naerth Maxildanarr (Human) won the speakership because of his popularity with the fishers. Skath (tiefling) who is very loyal to Naerth leads the town’s militia.
Militia. Targos can muster up to 200 soldiers and 16 veterans.
Heraldry. A single-sailed, black ship (facing to the right) on a light blue field, representing the town’s pride in its fishing fleet.
Sacrifice to Auril. Humanoid.

After the run in with the speaker here during the Good Mead elections, you find that your status does not seem to hold as much weight as it does in other towns. And you feel a bit like you are given the cold shoulder. Are you staying for a rest or is this a flying visit? You have spent about 2 hours travelling and you set off reasonably early morning.
Etriel Darastrix remembers all too well that the Targos speaker had opposed them with every means - legal and otherwise - to try to influence the elections of Good Mead. She therefore fears that it is useless to stay on a visit...
On the other hand, every time the party has taken the time to stay for a while in a settlement, they have always found the possibility of interesting trips... The Foreign Traveler therefore advises the others: "I personally I'm afraid that it will not be useful at all to stop here, so I would be tempted to continue on without further delay... but if you think it is worth it, we can stop - and find out if anyone in this place also needs our qualified help".
Well, given the absence of other proposals, I would say that we embrace Cirim's conduct... if we notice someone who needs help while passing by, we see what we can do... but if there are no people in obvious difficulty, we do not stop and continue our journey.
At the Blackiron Blades, before they depart, Danon purchases 20 iron spikes and some crampons, putting them in his pack. He fingers their crossbows, a short sword and looks at their daggers, but decides to get nothing of that sort. He also fits out any rations that he has consumed, getting ready for the next stage of his journey. He never ventures far from Etriel's side, having essentially taken up the task of being her bodyguard, not that she needed one. He is excited to get on the way to their next destination. "To Targos then! Perhaps I can show you some stretches along the way, ways that I've learned in keeping my body safe from harm, increasing my speed and reach.."
As they stop in Targos, Danon listens and chips in, "Perhaps we could have a quick bite in the local tavern, listen for any rumors and get the feel for what has changed here. If we hear nothing, we move on. If there is a possibility to .. *ahem* .. change, leadership, then I wouldn't be opposed to helping that to happen."
Founded by dwarf prospectors, the sleepy town of Bremen sits on the west bank of Maer Dualdon, at the mouth of the Shaengarne River. Bremen’s harbor has frozen, requiring local fishers to haul their boats across the ice to put them in the lake. Visitors who lack a boat can reach Bremen only by crossing the river, which is mostly frozen over. Targos, Termalaine, and Lonelywood are all visible from the docks on clear days.
If Auril’s everlasting winter has one benefit, it’s that the hardy folk of Bremen are spared the seasonal floods that normally threaten the town in early summer. That’s not to say that the long nights, frigid air, and howling blizzards provide any comfort. They don’t.
Twice in the past two months, residents of Bremen have had to mount search parties for their town speaker and oldest living resident, Dorbulgruf Shalescar, and twice they’ve found him wandering the frozen shores of the Shaengarne in heavy furs, with no memory of how he got there. Dorbulgruf, old even by dwarf standards, isn’t long for this world. Many locals fear the same is true of the town itself, if Auril’s brutal winter does not abate.

Leader. Speaker Dorbulgruf Shalescar (shield dwarf) speaks for the townsfolk. Age has addled his mind, and his vacant-eyed stare is often mistaken for unflappable calmness.
Militia. Bremen can muster up to 25 soldiers and 2 veterans.
Heraldry. A gold circle on a white field, with a horizontal blue band extending to the left under the circle, and a flaring blue triangle opening away from the circle on the right. The gold circle represents treasure found in the wake of local floods, the blue band is the Shaengarne River, the blue triangle is Maer Dualdon, and the white field represents snow.
It takes 2 hours to reach Bremen from Targos, the journey uneventful on the mostly intact trail. Parts of it have been obliterated by heavy snowfall though.
You start to head through the city, looking for somewhere to stop off to plan the next steps, which takes you past the docks. The lake around the creaky docks is frozen, forcing fishers to pull their rowboats up onto the ice. Standing between a pair of boats is a stout humanoid in cold weather clothing. A gray hood hides most of the humanoid’s face, but you can make out a wide nose and a long, frosty beard. The stout figure stamps their feet, spots you, and waves you over. “Good, you’re here. Get to it, ingrates! Those fish ain’t gonna catch themselves!”
Etriel Daratsrix approaches the stout figure slowly. When the distance is sufficient to allow for normal conversation, she smiles calmly and holds out her hand: "Etriel Darastrix, sir. Pleased to meet you. I'm quite sure we've never met before and I have no idea what kind of fish you're talking about - but from your demeanor I gather you're awaiting suppliers who are slow to arrive. Would you like to make your request known to me and my esteemed and capable traveling companions? Perhaps we can help you."
He frowns at the mention of not meeting before. "I will give you 5 cp per caught trout, so your time is better spent anglin’ than yappin’.” He also grumbles in Dwarvish (if you can understand dwarvish, he's complaining about Etriel being rude and stupid)
Up close now, you see the two boats are called Burly Ram and Pronged Goat. The latter one sports some curious damage, almost like a bite mark, but both look seaworthy.
"Not really interested in fishing in the freezing cold myself" the orc says, "but if any of you are, you can find me later. I'll be sitting by a fire, sipping Bremen's best ale."
"A little fishing won't hurt." Neldak moves to toward the Burly Ram. He then says in a low voice as he passes the dwarf in dwarvish, "We did just arrive and have no contract with you. My friend was being quite generous by offering to help you when your other help seems to have abandoned you. Maybe they knew dwarvish too."
Etriel Darastrix doesn't know dwarvish, so she doesn't take offense, but the fishing offer doesn't seem too tempting to her anyway... To make it as lucrative as a regular adventuring assignment, a spell would be needed that would allow her to catch a large number of trout in a short time - but she doesn't know such a spell.
'At most, I could try to talk to the fish...' the eladrin huntress muses 'and perhaps by doing so, induce them to fall into a trap, to take a path that leads them to our fishing nets. But even then, at 5cp per trout, we would need 20 trout to get 1gp in reward... So, with a quick calculation, hundreds or thousands of trout, to earn tens or hundreds of gp.. Perhaps that's not the best way to spend our time.'
Anyway, the foreign traveler is also waiting to see how her traveling companions react to the offer... Cyrim seems to have concluded, like her, that it is not an interesting option, but Neldak seems more open to the possibility. She is vaguely curious to find out what the others think...
