Etriel Darastrix has no idea what magic is at work, but tries to ask the Plesiosaur anyway: "I understand, Lord of the Waters. But tell me, please: what then compels you to continue attacking the boats? If you reveal it to us, perhaps we will be able to free you from this constraint - then you will be once again free to act as you see fit!"
Danon keeps puzzling over this strange beast, he sees the way the Etriel is reacting to it... "hmmm, seems maybe magical to me! I don't know though..."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Neldak realises that Etriel was right with her musing. This is a creature who has been the target of a druids awaken°
"The one who gave my my intelligence has told me I must attack the boats from Bremen. And I mustn't let her down or I will go back to being a stupid beast again"
"Then, Lord of the Waters, please, allow us speak to the one who gave you your intelligence" Etriel Darastrix suggests. "Perhaps by meeting her we can clarify where this purpose of hers comes from. Perhaps it is well founded. Or perhaps instead we will be able to make her see things in a different light. What harm can come from a civil conversation?"
"And of course, to avoid you running any risks," the foreign traveler assures "we will not say that we met you - we will claim that we learned about her through magic. That way, whatever the outcome of the interview will be, you will suffer no consequences at all and will continue to enjoy this intelligence that you are making such good use of - for example, conversing amiably with us!"
[[ OOC: Casting Guidance just in case a check is required. If it is not, all the better! ]]
"The human who gave me this gift is named Ravisin and claimed to serve the Frostmaiden. Ravisin said I must do my part to help the Frostmaiden, who wants the people of Bremen to suffer. I don't know where she came from or where she is now though.”
"Ravisin..." Etriel Darastrix grows thoughtful "I see now... What I know of her does not bode well, Lord of the Waters. I fear that she is a cold, calculating, and ruthless person, who, once you have exhausted your usefulness to her, will do exactly what you fear: she will regress you to your previous state, because she will no longer have any use for you - and for the beautiful mind you are developing".
"You have been given a unique and wonderful gift, Lord of the Waters" the foreign traveler's words become soft, filled with sincere compassion - she is truly enchanted by the fortune that has befallen the colossal animal and truly intends to do her best to preserve it. "A gift that must not be wasted. Migrate to other waters, Lord of the Waters, and live the life you most enjoy - a life in which you can fill yourself with the fish you truly enjoy and in which you can explore this world with the curiosity that your mental faculties now allow you".
"Ravisin met you by chance" Eladrin Huntress explains. "She will not be able to find you again, if you swim in search of a new home - one that is yours and yours alone. A home where you can be free forever, with no one to threaten you and tell you what to do. If she does not know where to look for you, Ravisin will neither find you nor take back what she will undoubtedly take back sooner or later. Go and live a life that is finally yours alone, Lord of the Waters. Become Lord of the Waters and of Your Own Destiny. You deserve this. We will seek Ravisin in the meantime and clear up this matter of the Frost Maiden and Bremen with her. Trust me, Lord of the Waters - me, who speaks to you as a friend, not someone who is, all in all, blackmailing you - and who has given no proof of being a person worthy of trust."
Danon sits there listening to the conversation, fascinated by what he is hearing. “Where is this Ravisin? We must find them and help this creature… and the people of Bremen. But where to look?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"But if she can't find me, what happens when the spell runs out. I'll be back to how I was before anyway!"
Neldak (and only Neldak unless something is shared) is aware that this spell is permanent. Ravisin has clearly lied to this creature to make it reliant on her.
"Run out?" Neldak looks up from the notebook "If you are under the spell that I know of, this Ravisin would have to see you again to remove it. It will last until removed. It sounds like this Ravisin is using you if she told you otherwise like my friend here suggested."
In fact, from what you know of awaken, nothing short of the most powerful magic (wish) can technically remove it. (and I would say having mentioned it, Etriel can also be aware of this now even without Neldak being explicit). Even dispel magic doesn't stop awaken due to not having a duration so nothing to dispel.
I will need someone (with advantage as you are helping each other) to make a persuasion check to the plesiosaurs to convince it that what you are saying about the permenant nature of the spell is true (and I will need to check the module for the DC). As for Ravisin, the beast knows not where she has gone
No problem... If the druid is nearby, we'll find her. If she's not around... something tells me we'll meet her in the future!
Etriel Darastrix had cast Guidance on herself just in anticipation of the roll... and she shares the highest modifier on Persuasion with Idalie... at this point, I roll.
"I do not wish to leave my home. But if it is permanent like you said, I see no reason to continue acting against my own wishes. I've not seen Ravisin since that one time but if she does return, the lake is big enough that I can avoid her and make her think I've left. Thank you for this knowledge"
Etriel Darastrix bows to the colossus and wishes him, smiling: "So be it and may you long appreciate the consciousness that has been given to you, Lord of the Waters and of Your Own Destiny. You are welcome. It was a pleasure and an honor to meet you".
The foreign traveler spreads out a sheet of paper that is still unused and takes advantage of it to draw the wonderful creature, while she still has a vivid and perfect memory of it. She privately thanks Sehanine Moonbow, the goddess who always helps her discover the wonder of traveling, for having made her encounter this umpteenth wonder.

Etriel can have advantage (for reasons that may become clear)
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Since Etriel has Advantage, here is a 2nd roll... we keep the higher of the two: Arcana check: 5
Lol! Not much better. Etriel does as I narrated, I guess.
Neldak has been quietly sketching/writing a detailed description of the creature as the others have been talking with it.

The eladrin huntress prays inwardly to Sehanine Moonbow, the Luminous Cloud, that the innocent beast will be persuaded, making a fight useless, at least for now...
