It's a massive outdoor tavern, other than the rooms of course, built on a boardwalk over a massive pit. The pit is filled with water, where you can faintly see a giant eel below. The outdoor bar is filled with people drinking merrily. It's a lot quieter inside the rooms, which are in a central 4 story building built in the center and supported by chains attached to the cavern ceiling. The outside is where you eat and drink, and the inside is for getting a room.

History to know more lore: You remember someone telling you long ago that there is this thing called food. If you remember correctly, you were told that food is something you eat.

Insight: One elderly man says he knew a Jeran "back in the good old days".

The menu has every drink you'll ever ask for (mostly alcoholic drinks like wine, beer, etc.) as well as normal meals. The bar is known for its meat, although food is getting somewhat expensive due to the scarcity of raised animals. There's one meat option called Griffin Leg.

So old timer where might I find this Jerran.  Offer Whisper her choice of beverage, listen to the elder patron.

Seeing that he was left behind by the others who were at the cave, he decides to stay at the farm. 

"Probably for the best, I would have slowed their travel down. I will check on the people and provide them an update on the cave monsters." He feels that maybe there were more questions to ask the elf. He doesn't understand why the base is important, why the dao should be killed or the king for that matter.....

The "old timer" says the following words you sense to be true: "Jeran was a curious ol' bloke. Always on about magic, playing with that wand o' his. I says 'Jeran, some eat dinner with us' and he says he found something else to study. A wizard, that man."

Morgot uses a tinderbox to light a lamp and hold it up. He tries to scan the waste for places where monsters commonly lurk.

(Morgot is actively looking for monsters to train against. I'm not sure what check to make for this, but the waste seemed the most likely to have monsters.)

Presuming that he must not be needed any longer, Clapper will go back to the tavern and look for the barmaid that had sent hims to the king. If he finds her:
"Welp, I payed a visit to the king like you asked. Worked out pretty well! But anyway, I cam to ask you a question. See, I'm pretty darn new to this area, and am looking for something to do.  Sure, I love playing music in taverns and the likes, but I came looking for adventures.
Say, I heard someone yesterday say something about some wizards tower? What's up with that? Maybe I can pay that feller a visit!"

A farmer walks up to you and sets down his pitchfork. "Tough day farming, huh?" The farmer is a wood elf, perhaps middle aged. He wipes the sweat off his brow and says "You look like somethin' happened."

Up ahead you find a lone Rust Monster grazing. It's eating metal, which corrodes upon touching it. It's a little uphill from you about 200 yards ahead. It's standing near the entrance to its den, a small cave on the side of a cliff. On closer inspection, it seems to be attacking the metal rather than eating it, trying to corrode it to the point of shattering.

"That could be dangerous if it got close to town, and might be a worthwhile fight," Morgot says to himself. He starts to appproach the beast, giving no thought to stealth.

She looks at you with a puzzled expression. "You mean... Ebony Tower? Haven't you heard of the rumors?" She starts mopping up a spilled drink on the floor and adds "It has a vampire, a powerful one. I wouldn't go there if I were you. But maybe your braver than I am. The vampire's name is Ichulla. No one knows why he's here, some say he's not from this world. Some say he knew the uh... the dao, but others say he opposes him. He never leaves his tower, even though its dark enough everywhere in the world for him to roam." She finishes mopping up the mess and adds "He can transform into an owl though, and he sometimes flies over town."

"A wizard, huh? We might be able to do both errands in one visit." Whisper remarks to Beans silently as she enjoys her drink, turning to the old man afterwards. "Any idea where old Jeran lives? We found something that belongs to him and want to return it."

Clapper grins in a rather chaotic way.
"Well, I probably am, but I guess I should stay away from there."
Clapper will head back to the library.
(pausing just in case you have anything to say.)

Thrudor nods to the farmer "Indeed....it has been tough. Today was difficult. The monsters will not be in the fields anymore. I spoke to their leader and as long as information about the Glass Dao's magic abilities if given to him, the spiders will stay out of the fields. We should be safe to continue to farm. I never did get to the bottom of the rotting, cold, poisonous harvests."

The old man takes a slow drink of milk and continues. "A wizard, yes. Good man, that Jeran. Back in my day he was quite the horse rider. He was king of the track, I'd say. He made his own little runway outside of town where he'd ride the horse. Good horse too, darker than any mustang you'll ever see. Of course the horse is long dead now, was an adult when Jeran was a boy. Good times. I remember one time he rode into like a bullet when we were boys and he got pulled over by the adults. His father says to him, 'son, you can ride anywhere outside of town you want, but not inside.' Well, he he wants to have fun. So one day he decides to run across the kings land, he ran through the garden back when there was one, no horse with him though. He didn't get caught, and he found a silver coin in the dirt there. He called it his lucky coin. Actually, he lost the coin a few years letter when he thought he'd win a bed with it. He-" The man stops, realizing that he has went to far down memory lane to be useful. "What were we talking about? Oh yes, a wizard. Jeran started pursuing magic when he was in his 30s. He's old like me now. Most people don't know this, but the town ran out of cattle completely one time, extinct from the kings parties. He found a way to use magic that can polymorph monsters into livestock. He's doing that now privately. But 2 years ago, he dissapeared. Still alive, I get letters now and then, be he just... vanished."
