Ic: Thinking quickly and remembering Chipper's tactic from before, Kess uses her movement (and Cunning Action Dash if needed) to retrieve more coals from the brazier on a plate, open the door and pour them just inside it. She then withdraws to behind her armored companions.
It only seems slightly bothered, but not hurt. It tries to go through the door, but finds itself too large. In frustration, it tries to break the doorframe.
Claw attack: 8 Damage: 7
Beak attack: 20 Damage: 13

I exist sometimes, especially when I'm DMing Curse of Strahd.
Garrick is taken aback as the doorframe explodes around him and the huge owlbear roars intimidatingly. Garrick, hoping he isn't immediately disemboweled next turn, raises his hand crossbow while Striker hisses beside him.
Attack 1: dirty 26 to hit, 10 damage Bonus Action Attack: 10 to hit, 8 damage
OOC - Striker (by default) uses Dodge action and prepares to use Deflect Attack (disadvantage) on the owlbear's next attack; assuming Striker isn't the target.
Zan lowers his sword toward the beast, Kelemvor welcomes you beast, a bolt of light springs from the glowing blade toward the owlbear, guiding bolt 13 to hit and 17 pts of damage.
Chipper reaches into his component pouch for a piece of spiderweb and begins to chant, "Tangled threads, silent spread, snare the steps of those who tread." Webs spring into existence, anchoring themselves on the broken door frame and layering across the floor, surrounding the owlbear.
Action: Web Cast it so that the owlbear would have to walk through another 10ft of web to get through to us.. (IIRC we all have ranged options.)
Web is difficult terrain. (double movement cost) A creature that starts its turn or enters them during its turn makes a DC 14 DEX Save is restrained. note: restrained gives disadvantage on DEX saves in addition to causing the restrained creature's attack to be at disadvantage and attacks against it have advantage. Also: The webs are flammable. Any 5-foot cube of webs exposed to fire burns away in 1 round, dealing 2d4 fire damage to any creature that starts its turn in the fire. If the coals are in the area, we may quickly have a little bonfire around the owlbear.
((And the next attack on the owlbear, before the end of Zan's next turn will also have advantage as the creature is bathed in glowing light from guiding bolt))

Sorry, I missed this somehow. Hidden under the bed mattress is a stitched leather sack containing 220 sp, 160 ep, and three potions of healing.

Sure. The coals will force creatures to make a DEX save if they walk over it, or take some fire damage.

As mentioned before, Amelia takes a Ready Action to cast Faerie Fire on the Owlbear after Chipper’s Web spell.
Dex save 14—if the Owlbear fails, it will be outlined in golden light, and everyone will have advantage on attack rolls against it.
The owlbear rushes to the door, running over the coals.
Dex Save for coals: 12
Damage on fail: 1
