Yeah.

Rested, you exit your rooms to see a completely empty tavern. Even the streets are empty, and no guards can be seen. You find a table and sit down (or not, you decide) and after a few minutes, the human from earlier walks out of the kitchen, walks over with trays of meat and bread and places them on your table, looking very depressed.    

“Pardon me, but it seems this place was busier earlier. I’ve been having sort of a strange day though. What’s going on?”

This place only gets customers is because people like hearing stories from adventurers, but the last adventuring party I'd seen in a week, other than you, left this morning. Also, Jedburg seems to just have stopped after we got the news. She pauses respectfully. Also, I've not seen many  adventurers pass through Jedburg in the last few weeks, which is odd, we used to always have a few adventuring parties here at a time, resting, restocking, telling stories, then continuing their travels.

“I can understand the lack of business.  But pardon me if this is too forward, you seem particularly forlorn.  I don’t mean to pry, but is something wrong?”

No, uh, no everything is fine.

No, you can tell she is very sad about something.

“Whatever it is, we can help you.” Alwyn looks around at the group for reassurance that indeed we can help. whatever burden you bear, please let us ease the stress.”

“My friend is right, you know. We can help.” Sogasri gestures to the black dog emblem of Urogalan on his ring. “Something is wrong here. Does this have to do with King Darius? We’d heard... unsettling rumors but no one will tell us the details.”

(I assume that’s a help action for Alwyn on a persuasion check?)

How dare you assume somethings wrong with me! She walks away, insulted.

Lirvar will quickly leave the table to speak with her, "I am sorry. I assure you, my companion meant no offense, we were concerned, both for you as a person and for the city as a whole, that perhaps something is troubling you. Perhaps either, as my friend suggested, to do with the death of the king, may he find peace eternal, or perhaps associated with the strange lack of visitors? Though we are strangers here, we would like to be able to assist in this time of troubles, allow you time to grieve without worry."

13 -persuasion

She stops and turns towards you, a tear in her eye, and says:, I understand, but just leave me alone alright? Then goes into the kitchen.

“We should go find where everyone went. Let’s head out. If we get separated, meet here later and I’ll try a Sending to Three.”

Alwyn hangs his head and agrees with the plan.  “What did I do wrong?”

“Nothing. Something is wrong with the world, and makes things seem wrong all over. Take it simply as further incentive to change this.” Sogasri rests a comforting hand on Alwyn’s shoulder.

"Perhaps we should split into two groups, I could go with a partner and head to the market area, I need to purchase a few replacements, while the others could head back to the capital to check there?"
