Grigor offers his strength and his eyes to help Sigurd in his task, powerful, hairy arms shoving against the slabs, testing to see if they open. "You think there might be something in these?" ((Athletics 18Investigation 19 just because I don't think anyone rolled with adv after he offered))
Ja'Dul notes an awkward walk coming from the smaller of the tracks, making it easier to follow. It seemed to take a shorter steps and somewhat hesitant as it sticks to the walls.
(If the party follows the tracks.)
Following the tracks, the party can hear someone walking the tunnels nearby. Peering down the tunnel where you hear the footsteps, you see a somewhat short human female.
Sensing gazes on her, the female immediately whirls around to face the party, alert, the medium-length cloak she's wearing swaying with her movements. The human who looks like she's in her early-20s instinctively adopts a stance that'll allow her to move quickly on her feet, and you see that her left hand has reached into an inner pocket of her cloak to grasp at something. Her movements also deliberately reveal a dagger strapped to one side of her hip, an obvious warning.
When she takes an actual look at who has approached her from behind, her dark eyes flash with surprise, not expecting any other beings besides the occasional monsters lurking around this area. She does not lower her guard, though. She hesitates for a moment, picking through what to say in her mind, before she settles on a safe question, "Are you guys lost too?"
[I hope that was an okay introduction, wasn't sure if it was too little or too much haha]
A burly, lanky, hairy beast man with a naturally stooped gait under his traveling gear, stands a little straighter and grins his wide, toothy smile, waving with a long arm. "I'm never lost. Always exactly where I'm supposed to be. Uh, don't suppose you're one of the missing guards? Boots and something? I'm Grigor or Grigs. We're with Acquisitions, sent to find.. you?" he asks hopefully.
Sigurd stares blankly at K, slightly slack jawed, wide eyed, breathing heavily and leaning forward as if ready to charge if he doesn't hear the right answer to his emphatic question, "WHO ARE YOU? WHY ARE YOU HERE?"
The bugbear gradually unfolds further, his bulky, 6’1” frame stretching to a broad-shouldered 7’5” and his grin froze in place as he not so subtly stepped between the woman and enraged barbarian - though he keeps his back to Sigurd, tone light, and doesn’t get in the other man's face.
“She’s talking, so probably not a walking corpse. He's a little amped," added for the newcomer's benefit.
"Ah, that...makes sense." The human female is startled by the barbarian's emphatic questions and physical state, but with the bugbear's (stars, he's tall) amiable explanation and the joke the Thri-kreen cracked telepathically (his appearance is more of a surprise than the message she heard in her head), she relaxes a bit, her alert stance shifting to a looser one. She gives a wry smile at the bug man and nods at him, before redirecting her attention to the questions they asked and the new information she gained from them. "I don't know the guards you're speaking of, but I'm definitely not one of them, so not one of the people you're trying to find. My name is K, and, uh, as you can probably tell by now, I'm kinda lost."K gives the group a sheepish smile and a small shrug. "I was exploring the tunnels down here and I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to my surroundings. But enough about that. You mentioned Acquisitions... Is that your employer? They asked you to find these guards?" She tilts her head slightly, inquisitive, locks of her loose black hair tumbling down her shoulders.
Standing at the back of the group, as the cast of colourful characters introduces themselves to K, the tiefling girl Pushover watches with an absent mined gaze at the conversation. She fastens her fingers around the spine of her grotesque spellbook, Aebelskink, as her horrendous social skills starting to creep up on her, until the book gives her a firm psychic instruction to introduce herself midway through a conversation as she's been standing silent for too long. Almost automatically she speaks over whoever's currently talking, interjecting to loudly announcing to nobody in particularly 'Hello my name is Pushover and I am a wizard! My spellbook's name is Aebelskink and he was an archdevil until he got turned into a book and now only I can hear him talk! I am an adventurer so I can learn to have some independence but I'm not doing too well so far!' She then just locks eyes with the newcomer, unsure of how to continue the conversation further and deeply embarrassed with her first impressions.
With most people seeming happy to talk, the bugbear softens, sinking back down to a less assuming pasture and adjusts his packs. To Pushover he says, "I haven't been here that long, but I think you're holding your own just fine."
K takes Pushover's sudden introduction in stride, only blinking once at the tiefling girl's unusual name (is it a given name or a self-chosen one?). She is much more interested in the fact that Pushover is a magic wielder and a spellbook user, as well as the nature of that spellbook. K agrees with Grigor's remark on the last part of Pushover's introduction, adding on with a comment of her own, "The fact that you are using that originally-an-archdevil spellbook proves that you have been holding your own and that you have potential for bigger stuff." She grins. "I'm a warlock, by the way. Also use a book, but it's a bit different from yours."
K pauses and suddenly remembers that they are still in a maze of tunnels deep underground and should probably not stand around for too long. "Why don't we walk and talk? I didn't catch some of your names, and you guys are here to find some people, yeah? I can offer my assistance, and more hands on deck means that those missing guards can be found faster with fewer incidents."She doesn't mention how she's glad to find this little group and no longer has to wander blindly down here by herself. She grouched earlier about how vague her patron's guidance was when she became lost in these tunnels, but now wonders if her patron intended for her to come across these adventurers.
Sigurd's face brightens at the "more hands on deck" comment and he responds, "Well, it sounds like you got yer mast property secured to your deck. Let us set our tack towards the unknown parts of these passage ways."
"Lots of traps here. Keep your eyes peeled. I'll watch our tails. Er, behind us. Not ogling backsides back here." With Ja'dul taking point, Grigor falls back to rear guard and attempts to move quietly while keeping pace with the group. Being at the back, he also takes out a spear to have something to chuck at an enemy if getting close is tricky. "Anyway, welcome... aboard?" since they seem to be using ship lingo.
As he's trying to move quietly, something on one of his packs seems to have come lose and jangles periodically. Something he'll need to address when they stop next.

The party goes back onto the trail of the two guards, only to find that part of the tunnel collapsed where the trail continues past it. It's a small cave in and can be cleared to continue onward.

Grigor flexes his muscles. "I don't mind heavy lifting." He stands ready to work. "Unless someone sees a better way."

(They're not coffins but a literal stone slab being used as tables.)

*Hey, what's this then? Oh, this place is full of unfortunate souls isn't it?* you hear a chuckle in your mind.
You get the idea it's coming from the bug man looking at you with a tilted head.
