He must have dozed off a little. More tired than he thought maybe. The bugbear stretched with a contented growl.
"Neat...buuug?" Not sure what to make of the weird heart-fire beetle. So long as it was on their side he guessed. "Does it have a name?" He wonders if he's expected to pet it, but decides he doesn't want to.
If she's not standing first, Grigor offers K a hand up, then gets his packs and corpse situated, jumping up and down a couple times to make sure everything is quiet and secure.
Pushover frowns, musing 'No, it doesn't...' She picks it up by the sides and holds it at face level with both hands, looking deep into its vacant eyes. It certainly doesn't have Aebelskink's intelligence, so it would be no good just calling it byy that name, seeing as it's just one of his organs made animate. Though, that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a name. The beetle is incredible warm to touch, almost like a warming your hands by a fireplace. And the name has got to incorporate its heart-like nature in, that's for sure. She thinks for a minute, and then a dopey smile spreads across her face, as she dubs the beetle '...Hearther.' A good thing about being a wizard is the wit that comes with it.
The ex-pirate eyes the beetle. "I would have called it 'Pharos'. The word means light house. Are we going to let it take point, since it has a built in light source?"
Ja'Dul offers to make sure the dragon leaves the cave without stirring any trouble. He'll head back to the Acquisitions Inc. headquarters right after he's out. (Ja'Dul shall be taking his leave of the campaign.)
Heading down the way the dragon had said, it leads to a chamber. This crumbling chamber is dominated by an altar against the far wall, above which hangs some kind of construct gearwork mechanism ending in a massive maul. The wall to the left of the altar has fallen in to spread rubble across the floor. On the floor near the altar is a golden device resembling an orrery housing. The device is battered and falling apart, revealing exposed gears and spokes, and with its exterior pieces and plating scattered across the floor. Splayed on the ground next to the device is the corpse of a dwarf.
In the southwest corner of the room stands a muscular female human dressed in the livery of the Waterdeep City Watch. Her eyes are closed, and she breathes deeply as though resting.
Sigurd bellows out to the red head, "Ho there! Ye taken a Caulk? Show a leg smartly and show yer colors!" The pirate pauses for a second and continues on, "Forgive the jargon, missus, I forgot that I'm not shipboard. I ask ye if you're awake and who are you. We be with Acquisitions Incorporated."
Grigor sighs and walks over to stand in front of the woman and says her name. "Hey. We're from Aquasitions Icn.. We're here to get you out, back to the surface." Very cautiously he put a hand on her shoulder to give her a light shake.
Sigurd's eyes widens a bit, but he readies his net and says, "She didn't respond to my hail, I'd be careful putting hands on 'er. Maybe drugged and startling thems can lose ya some digits."
"Yup, and waking up to a hairy, 7' dude probably isn't going to go over well." But he has the advantage of long, apelike arms, to nudge her with his spleen and kidneys a safe distance away.
Gorkoh looks about the room, his gaze lingering on the dwarf's body, "Caerhan?" He approaches the body as Grigor sets a hand on the woman. She open her eyes and they beam with pure white light. She draws her sword and lets her mouth hang, words seem to emit from her despite not talking her self.
"Threats detected...Eliminate."
As she speaks, the construct above the altar begins to hiss, steam blowing from it as its gears begin to spin.
Pushoverexhales and draws up her wand, spellbook open and ready in one hand, and Hearther stood on the same forearm in a defensive position. She seems quite laden with magical assistance, considering her stature, but she manages to accommodate them all quite well as she prepares to take on the automaton.
Pushover Initiative: 19 Hearther Initiative: Nat 20 (He'll just help Pushover on his turn though)
"Curses, seems like the guards lady is possessed. Try to knock her out!"Sigurd throws the net at her (12 to hit, most likely a miss) and offhand attack with his handaxe (At: 23, non-lethal damage 9)
(OOC: special attacks, like the rogue's, can be non-lethal too)
K was still taking in the bizarre room when the chaos erupted. She also gets into a defensive position, the tome from her pact appearing in her hand. "Guardian initiating? What is it even guarding?"She does not like the demeanor of the unconscious woman at all.
[K's initiative is 19] [Sorry for the late reply ;-; ]

"Heather. Good to meet you." He holds out a meaty hand for the beetle to 'sniff' like he would a cat or dog. Can beetles smell? Probably...
K peers over at the Pushover's familiar, fascinated. "That's pretty neat."
She takes Grgor's hand, standing up as well, shouldering her bag. "I'm good to continue."
The ex-pirate eyes the beetle. "I would have called it 'Pharos'. The word means light house. Are we going to let it take point, since it has a built in light source?"

Grigs sags in relief. "Finally. Someone else should probably wake her. I'm likely to get stabbed."
We be with Acquisitions Incorporated."

...no response, the woman remains standing straight with her eyes closed.
