Khessa places the medallion on the other grave and watches the Ghost's reaction: "Is this okay now? Or should I dig up and bury him with whoever is buried here?"
Khessa holds the medallion tightly wrapped in Frulam Mondath's Wearer of Purple Outfit as she walks toward the two graves. The night is still, and the moon casts a silvery glow over the graves. She feels a strange calm come over her as she carefully places the medallion on one of the graves. Suddenly, the locket begins to glow with a soft, warm light. Khessa steps back and watches with wide eyes. A ghostly figure slowly rises from the grave, enveloped in an ethereal light. It is the ghost of a woman, her face soft and peaceful. Her eyes radiate a deep love as she looks at the other Ghost, who had already risen from the other grave.
The two spirits float towards each other, their hands reaching out for each other. When they touch, a wave of light and warmth spreads through the air. The spirits embrace, and a sense of deep peace and fulfillment fills the environment. Khessa feels a tear roll down her cheek as she watches the two lovers finally reunited. The spirits look at each other with a love that has survived death. Slowly they begin to dissolve into the light, their forms blurring as they depart together into the afterlife.
The air is filled with a soft melody, as if nature itself were singing their farewell. The light fades, and the night returns to its silent, serene state. The party knows that the two lovers have finally found their peace, and that their souls are now together in a better place. With a sense of satisfaction and peace, Khessa turns back. She knows that she has experienced something special, and that the spirits are finally free.
I sense that you have been given a great role in things to come, but you are not the heroes I have been looking for.
With the sound of a closing book (carrying a chilling feeling of finality) the enity blinks out of existence.
Eric:
You hear the entity's voice in your head: Don't compare me to that vermin, master Dwarf.
Khessa, still moved by the tender scene of the reunion of the two lovers, approaches Eric, hugs him and bends down to kiss him.
"I'm so happy for them..." she says to the blonde arcane warrior, later "Who knows how long they've been waiting to be reunited! Anyway" and she already brandishes the Maul again "in that shrine there is one evil altar too many... I certainly don't intend to leave it there, so that some evil cultist finds it ready for use!"
The tall adventuress, if nothing prevents her, takes the time to demolish the evil altar. After that... she tries to resume the rest that the Ghost had interrupted.
"my judgement has been clouded, I see deceits of the evil gods everywhere" he thinks shaking his head; but he is visibly relieved by ghosts reunion. He knees over the medallion and casts identify ritualover it before the group tries to rest.

The medallion is actually nothing special and has no real value, except the emotional value of a gift from a loved one. This particular medallion was stolen from a dead Human woman after her husband failed to protect her from someone they trusted.
Anyway your long rest is undisturbed. Khessa need to make a WIS save (with advantage).
Zale stays back during this encounter, allowing her more magically inclined party members to handle whatever is going on here. She doesn't seem fazed by what transpired here, though her friends would know at this point that she's pretty good at hiding her emotions.... unless it's anger that is.
All in all, watching this interaction seems to have made her at least momentarily forget about the annoying kobold in her presence....
Hmmm... Tiamat is getting pretty pushy... OK, let's see how it goes: 21
Yeah! No Tiamat for you this night!
Back on track: following the trail nothing seems to happen for most of the day. Around noon you notice some herd mammals in the distance, but they aren't on your route.
About an hour, may half an hour, before dusk you come upon the ruins of a town. It looks like the town once nestled into a canyon between two bluffs, but only a few ruined stone structures and the slab foundations of administrative and temple buildings now remain. Cave entrances dot the bluffs, marking former residences and simple tombs. The only thing that looks somewhat intact is a crypt looking down over the ruins of the town. The entrance to the crypt stands in what was once a large paved plaza. The remains of a fountain are now little more than a stone circle set around a crumbling hole in the ground leading to a well deep below. Two stone statues stand in the courtyard, rising twenty feet high. Behind them, a forty-foot high edifice is carved into the cliff side, dominated by relief columns carved with strange, otherworldly scenes.
Khessa considers: "Could our hero have camped here? We can't leave these mysterious ruins behind without checking..."
As she approaches, the blonde arcane warrior first randomly checks some of the cave entrances, trying to figure out if the city was abandoned and then slowly decayed or if some catastrophic event occurred that left evidence of sudden destruction and victims. She will then, in order, move on to examine the well, the statues and finally the 'somewhat intact' crypt.
The tall adventuress, as she sees details, tries to recall any memories - perhaps she has heard of this city or its history... She also tries to discuss it with her sentient Greatsword: "You are much more knowledgeable than I am, of history, Hazirawn... I study history when I have the chance... you have lived it! Does it occur to you what kind of city this might have been?"
Khessa recalls some snippets, but Hazirawn is able to tell you more. Together you conclude that this must be the Tomb of Diderius. Originally part of the manse the wizard Diderius built around a mystical divination pool, the complex was converted to a crypt only after his death. The crypt looks down over the ruins of the town that grew up around the magic pool to cater to those who came seeking Diderius’s wisdom.
None of the ruins hold anything of value or interest, but the caves offer safe places for the party to rest. As you approach the statues, you hear the sudden sound of grinding stone. The colossal figures turn their massive heads, their shattered features staring down at you. Two voices issue forth in unison, booming out as though erupting from the deep earth.
Halt. You come before Diderius, ether walker and conduit of clairvoyance. Behold ye now his wondrous triumphs. Diderius extends wisdom, and Diderius offers knowledge. Which do you seek?
Also, from here you notice a campfire burning 100 ft to your right. However, at the moment there doesn't seem to be anyone present.
Khessa congratulates Hazirawn, patting it on the... blade, since it has no shoulders: "Great teamwork! Yes, combining our knowledge, the conclusion is indeed..." and she explains to the rest of the party in great detail what these ruins were once and are now and who Diderius was - and in the meantime she also notes in her spellbook the part of the details that she was not aware of from the beginning, but that was clarified by the sentient (and cultured) greatsword.
Surprised by the fact that the statues come to life and talk to her, the blonde arcane warrior again notes the prodigy in her spellbook, while she considers what to answer: "Knowledge is important, but without wisdom, it risks being misused... Couldn't we look for both? But if a choice must be made between the two, then I fear that I would choose knowledge - because we still have too little of it for the purpose we have set ourselves".
The tall adventuress can't help but notice the deserted campfire and warns her fellow party members: "Perhaps, our 'hero' also came here in search of knowledge or wisdom... and maybe he's still here. We'd better keep our eyes open."
Jean starts a bit at the voice, but will move to follow Khessa after taking a last look at the campground to see if she can notice anything else about who might have stayed there. Perception: 19.

Varram and co could have made camp here. Three bedrolls show where the rearguard is camped. Seven shallow graves have been dug near the campsite—casualties from the cultists’ explorations perhaps?
"Let's go inside and meet Diderius!" Khessa exorts the party, leadimg the way "With respect, of course..." she adds.
The blonde arcane warrior hopes that once inside it will be obvious wich way to follow to meet the (undead?) sage.
You come upon an antechamber. No light here, but what little you can see with the light from outside it looks like a tomb with gilded carvings and silver censers. You can just make out a door door at the far end of the chamber.
Eric follow Khessa, staying at her side. "I don't want to quench your enthusiasm my dear, but be careful" He also inspect the walls around in case something else could come to his midn about Diderus and about who has builded the crypt.
his history check would be 20 (dirty), 23 if Stonecunning feature is applicable.
"Oh, as if you don't know me, Eric..." she winks, trying to ease the tension with a joke, but still grateful for the comforting presence of her beloved at her side "I'm always so careful... it's my main good quality!"

The room is filled with Illusion magic. Now you know where to look you notice that looters have defaced and ruined the relief-carved walls, and the censers are long gone (those are mere shadows). Set between the carvings are a dozen alcoves recognizable as funerary niches, though these contain only splinters of bone. At the far end of the chamber, a stone door hangs ajar. Marks on the door and frame indicate that it was recently forced.
Diderius was a powerful wizard that discovered an ancient and powerful divination pool. While the exact specifications are unknown to you, Diderius held some connection to the empire of ancient Netheril and possibly the survivor-state of Anauria. This as evidenced by the artistic works within this tomb.
