Your guiding bolt envelops him in light, and he tries blocking, supporting his mace with his sheild. The divine light washes over him. When it fades, he is left with half of his body seared, and merely straightens his armor, though he is clearly at the brink of his life. It is Apa's turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The thug blocks your sword with his mace, deflecting it like how you deflected the other thug's maces. "Funny how you gave me a chance," The thug says, despite half of his cheek missing, "You never had one in the first place". He swings his mace twice, not like a drunken fool, but like a murderer, aimed to kill Apa. Attack: 20 Damage: 8. Attack: 6 Damage: 8.
Your lightning hits it's mark, and the man stretches out his arms, screaming as electricity runs throughout his body. His nervous system is illuminated as the room flashes. Lightning pours from his eyes and mouth, until he falls down to one knee. "Sorry, boss," he manages to utter, before collapsing to the ground. some sparks run through him one final time, and the battle is won.
The detective stands amidst the carnage, and looks almost regretfully at the corpses. He pulls up the collar of his coat, and asks "is everyone alright?"
Sirrus nods. "I was hoping it wouldn't go like this. But we can't change what has already happened. Do we bring the big guy out with us? I don't know what kind of resistance we'll get leaving. And there's sill this guy!" Sirrus gestures at the now bound thug that they left alive.
Apa returns with the bossman slumped over her shoulder. She drops him in the center of the room. "Here's the dead boss. Won't get any answers out of him" She says matter of factly with no joke intended. "Should we look through the desk and whatever else is here?" She begins to check out the dead boss' pockets and such
The boss's pockets has 3 papers. One paper has the detectives face, and some writing detailing his life. The other is a letter, from an anonymous writer. Then, there is another letter, written in goblin, and translated to common.
Sorry she will read the letter first and if someone wants to read the other she would hand it to them, if not she'd read the translated goblin one second
"Detective Iorvensiav is looking into your, buisness. He hasn't had any of the village guards do anything, so I suspect he is aware that there is a spy among us. I think the hit on the rat may have raises suspicion. I also found something, I think Iorvensiav is holding a meeting with 2-4 other people. I know his meeting location, as he brought the guards there before. My identity should remain hidden if you attack there. I dont know what forces you have, but I reccomend the heavy hitters." - the helmet.
The letter written in goblin is detailing an arms trade, and seems to be identical to the one at the start of the adventure. (Found on page 1)
Peyton looks at the last thugs and gestures at him, "May Hestia brighten your day!"
Guiding Bolt Attack: 24 Damage: 16
"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."
-Vedexent
"real life is a super high CR."
-OboeLauren
"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"

"LAST.....CHANCE" Apa says sternly to the thug. If he obeys and drops his weapon, she will not strike him dead
Otherwise
Attack: 10 Damage: 6

It is Sirrus's turn.
Sirrus intones a short rhyme, and pushes his hand out towards the remaining enemy, casting Sorcerous Burst.
23 to hit, 6 lightning damage.

Apa chuckles “What a fool. Now detective…..I’ll drag the dead boss back inside” Apa moves to do just that

Apa holds up the the three pieces of paper showing the others and then begins readings the 2.
Do you mean reading the second piece of paper? Or reading 2 of them?
Sorry she will read the letter first and if someone wants to read the other she would hand it to them, if not she'd read the translated goblin one second

Apa passes it to the others and the detective "Any ideas who the helmet is?"
"Perhaps it is an alias..." The detective says
"It seems maybe it was someone at the establishment we met at. They knew of the meeting place prior"
"It seems my suspicions were correct then. One of the guards is a spy for the mob." The detective replies.
“Hmm will you need us a little more then eh?”
