Drazzim, after rolling his shoulders and letting them crack a bit as he feels out the wounds, watches the others head over to one side. "Aye, wait for your handy dwarf!"He calls after them, beginning to hurry after them. "These legs can't keep up with your long shanks."
Darrius will follow behind because he needs that torch light to continue being able to see "Hold up, let me just - there we go, coming!"Pulling his final arrow out of one of the Kuo-Toa, then catching up with the rest on the other side of the furs.
Graxx will pick up his greataxe and follow the others behind the furs. Upon seeing the Rose and Utar standing around the injured Kuo-Toa Graxx will say, "Ah! These must be the ones who stuck me earlier! Why haven't you killed them yet?!"
The two Kuo-Toa, upon seeing that their companions were not able to take down any of the invaders, rethink their willingness to hold on to their burlap sack. One of them reaches behind the other's back, picks up the sack, and throws it at Utar's feet with a few words in a language none of the party members understand. Within the sack, at first glance, Utar finds numerous small, dead fish, some partially eaten. There are also a good number of crab carcasses and shells, some still pinching at the air. Most critters are submerged in this gooey water that reflects the light of the torches around Utar. Upon digging inside more closely, the half-orc finds a good amount of coins at the bottom of the sack, as well as two vials. The coins are mostly silver, and bear the markings of the Lord Regency of Phlan, revealing they have found their way into this cave somewhat recently. One of the vials is cracked and empty, but the other contains the glow of a red liquid that is familiar to Utar. In total, the cleric recovers 34sp, 5gp, and one potion of healing (rarity: common).
After handing over their belongings, the Kuo-Toa signals with its hands for the party to go away, and sits back down next to its companion.
Drazzim will be at the back, trying to get a look past the others. "What's going on in there?" He asks with a grunt, his short stature not allowing him to see past the taller humanoids he is accompanying.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Graxx moves up and observes the two injured Kuo-Toa and sternly says. "I came for vengeance for the donkey and vengeance I will have it." Graxx looks to the rest of the group, "We cannot just let this evil walk away because they are cowards and no longer want to fight!" Graxx motions to his wound and then to Rose. "They tried to kill me and the gnome!" Graxx then raises his greataxe"You can keep the gold, I will settle for their lives."
Graxx will attack the Kuo-Toa that looks the healthiest if no one stops him(OOC: DM you can decide what is adequate time).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Also if Graxx's attack kills the first Kuo-Toa he will use his Great Weapon Master Attack to deal a second melee blow with his greataxe as a bonus action to the remaining Kuo-Toa.
Graxx's short fuse burns up once more and the barbarian quickly puts both Kuo-Toa out of their misery with well-placed slashes across their respective chests. They have no time to react (cumulative damage on Kuo-Toa#5: 18 -> DEAD; cumulative damage on Kuo-Toa#6: 23 -> DEAD).
(OOC: 10 damage is exactly what you needed to kill any of the two foes).
The room grows quiet after the double mercy kill. As the fishmen slump to the side, you notice they were hiding yet another item behind them --a set of hand drums-- clearly used as the tribe's alarm system.
(OOC#2: So, keep going or short rest? Here's the map again to help decide).
(OOC: Based on the poll being tied I will initiate the short rest of one hour. For those who do not need a rest maybe it would be suitable for the one hour to scout ahead, loot bodies, or other activities?)
Graxx leans over and picks up the hard drum and says, "I wonder if we can use these to form an ambush later on." He then sets his greataxe down and sits with his back against the wall at D14. "After taking those hits I need to catch my breath."
Utar stares in utter disbelief. He lifts his head and looks at Graxx. "Torm's sake! The boggle eyed bastards had surrendered! We could have bound them, asked them about the cutter in the cloak outside..." He shakes his head, and mutters to himself more than anyone else "If brains were turds..."
Utar turns and walks towards the centre of the cave, dragging the sack behind him. Stopping and lifting the potion of healing from it he lets the sack fall. "There's some coin in there, I haven't the stomach to take it."
Utar looks out over the water. His mind elsewhere.
Perception - 11
OOC Utar doesn't need any healing, so no spending hit dice for me, but it's good to know Graxx and Drazzim are topped off.

Drazzim will be keeping a look out for the group during the short rest. No hit dice spend, the healing got him to a good spot, though he'll use his second wind before the rest.
As Graxx and Cato take a moment to tend to their wounds and Drazzim catches his breath, Rose, Darrius, and Utar keep an eye out. Graxx now has a set of drums.
These are, by all means, normal mud crabs, except that their ventral ganglion seem to be sensitive to external input. This hits Cato as being a bit odd, as their dorsal ganglion is the organ usually responsible for external sensory input. Perhaps something to do with the drums? Whatever it is, it clearly involves magic, and the creature behind it, Cato deduces, must be quite wise.
It is hard to see anything in this cave, let alone in the murky water. You can swear that every now and then you see ripples in the water but you cannot be sure. It must be your imagination...
There is something in the water, but you can't be sure what. Perhaps fish? There were some small water life that was serving as food to these Kuo-Toa in that sack after all...
Throughout the hour taken to rest and look around, everyone notices the muffled screams of humans coming from the other side of the pool of water. Now that their source is closer, you can also hear the sound to rattling cages and blunt hits being dealt. On the floor, in the middle of the room, rests the burlap sack with some coin inside, according to Utar (OOC: will anyone claim those coins? See post #166 for details).
(If nobody else picked it up, Drazzim will out of curiosity more than anything else)
Upon hearing the scream. "Well, that's our cue." He says, getting his glaive prepared and rushes towards the cries. He'll check to see if there appears to be a drier path. If not then it's time for a swim.

Utar will enter the room and seeing Rose with her rapier drawn will walk over to her. "What have you found lass?"
Seeing the Kua-Toa, Utar will narrow his eyes and emit a low growl and brandish his warhammer at them.

Cato will enter the next room to see what all the hubbub is.

Cato will take a seat and treat his crab pinches.
