Gimdir and Kreeng break down the door, absolutely splintering it. Inside Rurik is no where to be seen. There's a desk, chair, shelf, and a weapon rack filled with clubs and spears. A set of stairs lead down. Down the stairs you find the prison cell. Inside the cell you find Morthos casting Acid Splash over and over again on the iron bars of his cell.
Morthos looks up "No one here besides me, no point in looking for keys, that dwarf has them and he's not here" he continues casting acid splash 2, one bar has already melted through, one more bar and he'll be able to get out (prison bar AC 17 HP 30)
"When we get out of this, we'd like you to stay with our group until the murderer is caught." Dredmor Says hurriedly. "Aim for the lock rather than the bars."

Gimdir winds up to slam his battle axe into the metal bars of the cell, then pauses. Looking at his axe, specifically the edge, he sets it down and runs upstairs. He returns with a club from the weapon rack, and proceeds to bash the bars with it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morthos nods and turns his attention to the lock, spraying it with more acid, 3. Smoke starts spilling into the room from upstairs, and then you hear steam and hissing from upstairs, and water starts dripping down the stairs. After freeing Morthos you head back up top and you see a crowd of 39 peasants have gathered around, looking on and murmuring. Father Cuthbert is next to the prison door, he casts Create or Destroy Water on a pile of burning embers and turns to you, looking confused. The peasants all cease murmuring and look at you expectantly.
Loud and boisterous, Gimdir shouts to the crowd, "Where be that drunkard who set the building aflame? The one left knocked out eating mud right there?" Gimdir points to where the drunkard was.
((I am going to be out of town and will not post again until Sunday night.))
The townspeople look around sheepishly, none of them respond. Cuthbert raises his voice "HAVE YE NOTHING BETTER TO DO YE GORMLESS BUMS? GIT WITH YE!"Cuthbert slams his staff on the ground threateningly. The crowd quickly disperses. Cuthbert turns to you, "Well constables, what will you do now?"
Dredmor turns and addresses Cuthbert "We'll be taking Morthos into protective custody until his name is cleared. I have my suspicions on what the killer might be... But I need to hear the testimony of the witness."
OOC: I hope this is okay. What time is it in-game? Like, can we still talk to the witness or is it almost curfew.
You figure there's just enough daylight left to talk to the witness. Asking around you are directed to Martha's house. When you get there Morthos pulls back "I shouldn't go in, it will be easier that way. I'll wait out here" after knocking Martha opens the door, she has a mousy demeanor and wears a simple dress common among servants for the middle class. You explain your purpose and she recounts the attack "It was midday, the sun was high in the sky, most everyone was taking a break from the heat. I was travelling with my missus back from seeing a merchant about some nice finishing's for a babies room. We stopped by the awning over a warehouse cause missus was getting a mite tired. There weren't a soul around, all the workmen had gone off to tavern during the heat of the day. I went around the corner just to fetch a little water for missus to drink, as I was walking back I heard an awful scream, I ran as fast as I could, when I got back my eyes had become accustomed to the dark and the I could see very little was so bright, but I could make out the body lying there all covered in blood, the ripped up awning lying next to her, and I saw the shadow of a man running, before I could gli9mps it clearly the shadow slipped behind a wall and I lost it"

((You can choose to Help someone, which grants advantage.))
Kreeng notices his companions trying to break down the door. He attempts to help Gimder.
(do I roll or does Gimder retold.Do I take fire damage?)
((Can I retcon and roll again for advantage? Or just try again and get damaged again?))
You can keep trying until you succeed, on each attempt you take the fire damage again. Gimdir can definitely roll again for advantage.
((If I understand correctly, I can roll once more to break down the door in post #79 because of advantage, so I took the fire damage already.))
Strength check: 25
((Damn, I hit it so hard the fire should go out. :P))
OOG: (yeah you understood correctly, that's what I call a strength check holy crap)

Kreeng follows the group down. As he notices the tiefling he stops ,not close enough to get splashed,”Is there anyone else here?Where is guard?”
Kreeng scans the room.
