Gimdir's lowly intellect finally takes in the situation and he realizes there's not enough rope and no good way to secure it to the beam. Seeing those insurmountable obstacles, Gimdir will crack his knuckles, shake his limbs loose and attempts the climb.
Gimdir hauls himself up the stone walls of the mill tower. At the metal door at the top, there's a little 15f by 15f wooden platform, creating a small balcony. The platform is a great vantage point for the town and surrounding country, you can even see clear to the rocky hills and mountains north of Southford. The metal door is 10f wide and has no keyhole and the hinges are on the inside. The wide, deep, scraps on the platform tell you the door is frequently opened.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gimdir inspects the platform, looking for unusual tracks or other evidence of recent use. He will also check to see if the metal door is locked, but not open it yet.
Kreeng stands with his back to the close to the wall , in the room they first entered. Holding his position on the opposite wall of the entrance ,and watching the entrance. Unflinching Kreeng stands in his guard position until he is summoned or his rotation for rest comes up.
Gimdir, angry at being blocked at every turn, will rage and jump off the tower. After eating the damage (halved), he will head to a local inn and spend the night in the cheapest room he can purchase. Then he will return bright and early in the morning.

(Gimdir takes half of this 16 when recovering from this damage remember to take Healer's Kit Dependency and Slow Natural Healing into account)
Gimdir finds a cheap inn (-1sp) (-1 ration)
(Unless anyone has something else in mind I assume that Kreeng, Dredmor, and Zusag spread out bedrolls and sleep in the tower tonight and set standard watch rotation minus Gimdir)
Gimdir returns to the tower in the morning, the rest of the party is there packing up their bedrolls and Morthos is working in the alchemical workshop.
Alderman Roland walks up to the tower with another human. The Alderman says "This is Séo, she's here to help with the investigation. The Duke's stewards in Alandale have finally decided to help us, they've sent Séo and increased the reward by another 500 silver pieces. Any progress on the investigation? The next attack will be in 1-2 days"
Having run into the Alderman, Gimdir will get in his face and inform him, "Me gut be warning me about this Morthos fella. He be treating you for some ailment, but I say 'be wary' of him."
the Alderman looks shocked and lowers his voice "has the mad paranoia of the townspeople took ahold of you too? Control yourself master dwarf. I will speak no more on this matter"the Alderman turns and gives a brief nod to the party before turning and heading back into town.

With no other options, Gimdir will place his ear against the metal door and listen.

Kreeng, after eating dinner Malik retires to his bedroom upstairs and tells you to make yourself at home and he'll see you in the morning.
Gimdir hears nothing at the door.

((Had already used a ration. Deducted 1 sp. Forgot about the healing stuff... I would have tried to climb instead. But best to lock that in now.))

Séo looks up from her seat at the bench and smiles. "Gents," she says with a nod, then returns to sharpening her blade.

"I be not blaming him for the murders, but he be shady as... shade." Speaking to the others, Gimdir says, "Ok, lets go hunting."
You sense no deception from the Alderman.
Where and how would you like to hunt for the Peryton.

Looking over the new party member Seo, Kreeng joins the group discussion to see what’s next on the agenda.
