“That’s it then when the scouts return we head out. Everyone else let’s gather stones a shallow grave beats no grave, let’s get this done.” A silent tear falls as Fjeordi moves Captain Ristyl’s body with the others and starts piling stones…
Before we burry them can we resolve the “let’s see if we can salvage any of their gear” post from like ten post earlier….
Alice glances around at the ruin, hearing her Lieutenant's commands and acting accordingly. She, however, is very curious ...
"I'll be with you in a moment, friend." She assures, leisurely stepping over to one of the dead bodies and inspecting it as best she can. She aims to search for signs of technological or magical interference with the corpses. It's a fascinating epidemic that's going on ... perhaps she can find some use from what's here.
Senca has been quietly working on salvaging what can be used from the fallen. With each one she whispers a quiet prayer for the passing of their souls. "I've checked these but could use a hand moving them to a final resting place."
@whole party. With the help of everyone you manage to gather the following from the bodies:
Halfplate armour
2 chainmail
1 scalemail
8 spears
4 shortswords
2 longswords
1 greatsword
@Fjeordi. You also find on Captain Ristyl:
3 potions of healing (2d4+4)
a golden ring in the shape of two snakes.
1 sending stone
@Alice. while that party is gathering equipment you look for other signs of technology or magic. Other than the spell caster that died, all seems normal to your experienced eyes.
@Chipper. The kobold helps the bodies not be able to be used by the necromancer.
@Velys. You can explore the surrounding area, sticking to the left wall. (like a bozo) assuming that you're just getting a perimeter and not exploring, here is an updated map of what you can see.
Alice shrugs at her findings, standing up and collecting one of the short swords before returning to her bag. Once she arrives, she puts the weapon inside, making a mental note to experiment on it later.
Her findings, however, were not as astute as she'd thought ... but, that's not of utmost concern. Suddenly, a thought races to her head and she rushes to catch up with the fairy, taking a quick stop to grab her heavy sack of belongings. "Excuse me! Excuse me! Wait just a moment, sir! He's not ready yet! " She shouts behind, eventually taking her place behind him and tapping him on the shoulder. "The little one isn't complete."
”Magnus it’s yours, take one of these potions of healing (2d4+4) too. We're going to need you on your feet.” Fjeordi claps Magnus on the shoulder genuinely happy he survived.
"I'll take one of the shortswords as well, always good to have a back up." Senca says picking one up. "Are we falling back or pushing on? I can help with the scouting in either direction."
"I could use half-plate too. But only if it is half-pint size!" The little kobold scours the gear and settles on the fact he's as equipped as he needs be.
"I am content continuing onward, or falling back. Those responsible for our companion's deaths yet lurk these caverns. And it is right that they be undone. Vile things that they be. But it is true our numbers are dwindled and we face unknown odds. There is no dishonor in regrouping."The little guy seems to be working through his thoughts outloud as much as addressing the party.
Knowing that your base is to the south, you look towards the setting sun and find your way. In OOC let's get a marching order and Fjeordi can you make a survival check for me?

She bows in gratitude once she takes the figure, beginning to tweak its design somewhat. She's poking and prodding certain sections of the Doll, awaiting a reaction, before she gets just what she wants. A twitch of a limb and a small blue flash coming from its belly. Perfect. "We should."
She clears her throat, dropping the Doll down and letting it ... stand up on its own. It stands motionless, Alice moving up to the rest of the group as Velys insisted as the doll waddles behind with a most unnatural motion. It's sort of ... gross, the way it hobbles around like a haggard old goblin. What was once just a little wooden man is now strangely alive. Surrounding it, a small blue aura is in place, Alice reading through her notes. "I do believe the reverse amplification equation should functioning. Good." She hums to herself as she walks back towards her lieutenant as quickly as she can, the small machine nearly incapable of keeping up. "The caverns ahead look most treacherous, yes. I believe I might, perhaps, have a light on my person. Or one of our men."
Yes sorry getting ahead of myself…

Velys stops and turns back to Alice, offering out the toy.
"Oh. Here you go."
While she makes the necessary adjustments, he looks ahead the way he was going and back toward the group.
"There doesn't seem to be anything here but more caverns. We should regroup with the others and decide which direction to go."

I'm probably laughing.
Second Lieutenant, does the group try to pursue any sign of undead or report to base or any other ideas?

“Agreed, no light. Will that be a problem for anyone? Alice are you able to ‘scout’ ahead with that creation?”
Fjeordi looks at the doll’s motion somewhat surprised it can traverse the natural terrain.
(Fjeordi looks over the sending stone, does he know how to use it and must he attune first?)
Senca lifts a hand, "I can see well in the darkness, and I'm skilled at sneaking ahead as a scout."
“It’s a relief to hear thank you Senca! Is there a benefit if Senca takes the doll with while scouting ahead Alice?
Someone take this communication device request direction, and report our losses.
What are everyone’s thoughts here? Go back or press on?”
Fjeordi looks at the mass grave jaw clenched hearing ‘dishonor’ over and over…
Magnus will follow the Leftenant..... but his preference is to continue. Evil is afoot and needs to be chastised.
