Yes... You hit the nail on the head... Two kids entering junior year in HS... The tsunami of prepping for after hs hit full force... But these are good problems... Just a tad busy. Will be back soon.
The silence deepens—then, without warning, the lanterns sputter and die, plunging the cul-de-sac into gloom. Only the faint glow spilling over the jagged scrap mounds from the distant spaceport provides dim light.
From somewhere unseen, Korga’s cruel chuckle slithers through the dark, filling the void.
Then—eyes. Not two, but three pale orbs, gleaming like fractured moons, flare in the shadows some forty feet away. A Voidmaw crouches in the entrance, its triple gaze fixed on the party.
Vic looses her bolt from her hidden cover of illusory junk—too quick, too eager. The shaft splinters against rusted plating, far wide of her mark.
Tahlia reacts instantly, her fingers dancing across lute strings. Her voice coils with arcane edge as she laces a curse into the beast’s mind. The Voidmaw staggers, its glowing eyes dimming as bane’s weight presses down. But with a violent shake of its head, it tears free, snarling, only barely breaking the spell’s grip.
Archael holds the rear, Mage Armor shimmering faintly across his frame like moonlit glass. His white hair gleams faint in the ambient glow as he waits, tense and calculating.
Between them all, Djoser stands firm. His prayer continues, steady as a heartbeat, golden threads of Waukeen’s blessing weaving across his companions—binding their resolve, strengthening hand and heart for the fight about to break.
The silence stretches once more, the beast crouching low, its glowing eyes narrowing.
((I rolled the d4 for Vic in the log - it was a 4! Therefore her attack hit with a total of 15. Damage: with advantage 4 +4 = 8 plus sneak attack: (11) = 19 piercing damage))
Archael's magic missiles land true to their arcane nature, seriously injuring the Voidmaw in addition to Vic's initial attack. The Voidmaw staggers, three eyes blazing with fury, hide torn and bleeding, breath ragged and desperate.
The Voidmaw fixes all three eyes on Vic, its body trembling with rage and wounded fury.
With a guttural snarl, it launches forward—10 feet, 20 feet, 40 feet—a blur of starlight and muscle streaking across the rubble. Its jaws snap shut on her with terrifying force (22 to hit), teeth ripping flesh as pain sears through her side (6 damage).
Even as the impact lands, the beast vanishes in a shimmer of voidlight. In the blink of an eye, it reappears 25 feet up the junk embankment, to Vic’s flank, a fading trail of cosmic sparks marking its path.
Vic feels the tug of unseen force, the void trying to drag her down—but with a sharp twist and iron will (DC 13 Strength save, roll 19), she turns with the bite and steadies herself, refusing to be pulled or felled by the alien predator.
(@hope all is ok, busy end of summer)

Archael is up first in initiative
Innitiative: Archael -> Voidmaw 1 (in entrance) -> Tahlia -> Djoser -> Vic
((The encounter has begun, although the other voidmaw has not yet appeared))

((Vic - you could add a d4 from Bless to your initial attack - if it hits I will retcon the hit))

Archael quickly weaves a spell that sends three motes of force from his hand, slamming into the Voidmaw. He then moves for more cover.
Cast Magic Missile, force: 10
