The Kenku stops running, quickly turns around, and launches into a spell. An immediate calming feeling rush over you all but quickly disappears. However, for the first time in your life [presumably], you watch hundreds, perhaps thousands of centipedes... fall asleep. A small mound of sleeping insects.
Li has the last turn of the round.
The centipede swarm is asleep, Sairn is lying on the ground, bleeding from the bites he received from the swarm.
[Since the centipedes are asleep from Tools Magic, Li's stab is able to kill the rest of them, combat is over!]
Sairn has one failed death save. If anyone has healing, they can use it, or you all can attempt to stabilize him. Roll a Medicine roll, Let's assume Li will help you, so the two of you can roll with advantage on the medicine check. DC 10!
[Does anyone have a positive mod on Medicine? Tool has a +0]
Tool takes a moment to catch their breath before rushing over to Sairn. "Ahh, I don't know any healing magic! or any healing at all! Can anyone help him?" Tool looks at the group, waiting to see if anyone helps the elf.

Calling on the Cat Lord, Stardust on Stone uses the Lay on Hands feature to give Sairn five hit points. He rests a hand on Sairn's forehead for a moment to do this, whispering a prayer under his breath as he does so. "Breath good air again," he says.
After he has helped Sairn up, he'll look up and down the coast. Is anything hostile? Perception: 12
If not, he looks toward the chest and the water. "Let's get the chest and get out of here," he says.

The monk elf wakes from a uneasy, chilling sleep. Glancing up at the worried Tabaxi.. A light chuckle emits "Thank you Stardust for your aid." Sairn rises to his feet gingerly and look around. "I should have been more aware of what we were walking into here. I apologize." The Monk bows his head and holds his fingers to his temples briefly, searching his mind for any knowledge.
"Whew." Tool lets out a sigh of relief then turn to the tabaxi. "Glad you're here with us." Tool then heads to the rope and begins pulling it. If it's too hard to pull alone, Tool will ask the other for help.
"The Cat Lord can be fickle," Stardust on Stone says, "But when they provide, it is a great thing." He'll take up the rope as well. A few scars run through his fur. His muscles are lean and not at all massive.
Here's a strength check, if you'd like one, AugustForever: 13
Stardust on Stone doesn't sense anything else hostile, and looking at the canopy above, doesn't detect any more sack traps.
The two sets of footprints continue northward, parallel to the river.
You all grab the rope and start pulling, at first, it doesn't budge, then all of a sudden, with a snap, it gives way, all of you doing your best to keep on your feet. You quickly pull the rope in and see that there is nothing at the end. You deduct that it was most likely tied to a rock or stump underwater. It's true purpose was to activate the trap, dropping the sacks of insects on you.

"Tsk. I should've known. Why would our thieves tie the chest to a rope and drop it underwater? It was obviously a trap." Tool lets out a sigh of frustration before looking around for footprints.
The river runs to your right as you follow it, the footprints are not hard to follow, more obvious along the banks of the river. To your left the woods seem to get denser, thicker, and the light seems to disappear as you look that way.
You continue onward, the brush gets thicker, but you can follow the footsteps, especially the one that appear 'heavier'. As you press through some bushes, it opens, before you, a cave opening. The opening is about 5 feet high, and dark inside. You hear the slight sound of water moving beyond, there are no light sources.
[Li will need to light a torch unless you have a different solution for him? Or we can leave Li at the entrance on guard and the three of you can continue. We can have Li catch up if he returns? Any preference?]
(Sairn has a torch. I think we should leave Li at the entrance)
The curious elf monk pushes forward with the Kenku and Tabaxi by his side, cautiously looking into the cave. "I can light a torch and we go in quietly... what do we think?" His elf eyes scanning the area, thinking of how this has gone sideways. Wondering if he'll ever get back to his own mission for the ADEA.

"I see pretty well in the dark," Stardust on Stone says, "but a torch is fine as well." He strings his bow and has an arrow ready. "Going quietly is a good idea."
Stealth: 18
He examines the footprints and the entrance to the cave before going in. Is there anything else to be learned from them? Survival: 9
"Forgo the torch. The light will give away our position." Tool then looks around for a suitable spot to rest. "If our thieves are in that cave, I think it's best if we take a short rest before we enter. Some of us are still wounded from the fight and I need to recover some of my spells."
"Or if you think speed is of the essence, then I'm fine with heading straight in. Just know that I can only cast one more useful spell before I run out of my magic."
You forgo a torch and enter the cave. You don’t have to travel far before you stop at the edge of an underground river, cutting through the natural stone corridor creating a 10-foot-wide chasm. The water is 12 feet below and moving fast, some tributary of the river you just left behind outside no doubt.
Across the chasm, the corridor ends at a collapsed wall. Beyond it, you can make out a room. The walls and floor of the room do not appear to be natural like the corridor, but consist of worked stone, possibly marble or a similar stone. Other than a bit of light still streaming in from the cave entrance behind you, all is dark. The sound of the fast-moving water makes it hard to hear anything else.
Directly across from you, resting against the wall is a long wooden plank, easily long enough to create a bridge across the chasm. Next to the board, there are two sets of muddy boots.
"If our thieves are in that cave, I think it's best if we take a short rest before we enter. "
Sorry I accidently skipped over this. If you want to short rest you can, you won't be interrupted if you do it outside the cave. If you like to rest, we will resume with my post above after your rest! If you want to press on, that's fine too.
After the rest, Stardust on Stone tries to look for ways of moving the plank across the ravine. It might be wider than he can jump. Could he tie rope to an arrow and shoot it into the plank? Then use the rope to pull it over? He'll explain this idea to the others. "What do you think? I don't know if that will work. Are there spells that could bring the plank over to our side?"
