He/Him. I am the DM, you are the player. You make the mistakes and I decide the consequences. Now, with that being said - Are you SURE you want to cast Fireball?
So, the party has agreed on the bandits? Jed hasn't answered yet, so I'm hesitant to move the story along...

“Well I can always fix a fence but bandits hurt people let’s get them first! But can we get some ale for the road?” Jed looks at D’Kon with his jug in hand .
So you guys want to take the bandit quest, but get some ale first? Be sure to let Kjelle know what quest you're taking.

Jed happily walks to Kjelle's desk. If either Kjelle or Chelle are there he will pass on the quest selection, if no-one is present; he will knock at the desk and wait for someone to come out of the desk. If he has time to wait at all he will pull out a ration of jerky and start gnawing on it...
also, "Do you know where the discount ale is sold? We are gonna take some to drink on the way."
Neither Kjelle nor Chelle are there. Instead, an Owlin (Kjelle) with a pair of cool sunglasses on is there at the desk. If you want Jed to figure out if it's actually Kjelle or not, please roll intelligence. Aside from that, the Owlin goes "Hey. The name's K'jell. I'm in charge of the quest stuff. Y'got a quest for me? If y'wanna talk market stuff, you'll need to talk to Michelle."

wow, Intelligence check... 0. Jed is struck dumb by the sheer number of Owlin living in this extra dimensional desk...
"We are ah taking the bandit quest K'jell. So are you all related? Um okay well that's it I guess, thanks."
"K'jell" nods and shuffles through some papers. "Mhm, okay, looks the the quest as requested by Warren, the blacksmith. If y'want the details, go talk to him. Did ya still want that wine, or no?"

I know rolled a '1' with a -1 mod...
"Yes K'jell some wine would be nice. You're pretty cool, say hi to everyone for me."
Jed after finding out about the wine will return to the others with the message about Warren the blacksmith being the contact.
"M'kay, one moment." K'Jell then dips under the desk and another Owlin pops back up with a straw hat and a pair of nerdy glasses on. "Hiya! Heard you had some questions about buying stuff? I'm Michelle, nice to meet ya!"

Michelle gasps in wonder as you produce the azurite from your pouch. "Woah! Das a pretty gem! Anyways, you said you wanted alcohol, right? Well lemme see here..." She produces a very large ledger from underneath the desk and murmurs to herself as she flips through it "no... no... not this one... AH HAH!" She then looks up. "Looks like you'll either want to head to the tavern, or look for a street vendor selling it. At the tavern you can buy it in glasses for around 3-6 gp, but at the stalls you can buy 10 gallon casks for around 5 - 10 GP."

Yes. As you look around, the Jerbeen from earlier is discussing her group's next move with a tiefling and a gith. Another group has an Elf and a Kenku inspecting a map. Their halfling party membernis attempting to see, but is much too short to do so. Finally, there's another group with a devil, an Aarakocra, and a Changeling. They're just hanging about.

“I have no objection wether we fix things or take out a few bandits should we take a vote on what to pick?”

Brammuth: "I'm happy to test our teamwork first with the bandits, and the more criminals gone the better."
Either bandits or fence fixing and kitten rescuing.
Bandits is fine with me
