"Easier said than done given the one entryway we got to work with here. But, it's not as if we'll have much of a choice."Lucas whispered to the group. "The webbings to thick, otherwise I'd try conjuring up an extra hand. And if there's any webbing on the ground, I doubt stealthy approach will go unnoticed... if we weren't already noticed." He grimaced. "Which leaves us I feel only two options, entering pretending to be cultist charged by Loth to deliver the rod elsewhere -- which is a terrible idea if either of those creatures are the highest authority in this place. Or, you pray to whatever gods are listening and dispatch them as quickly and as efficiently as possible."He suggest as much. But even as he's discussing plans, his mind -- ever accustomed to multitasking -- races to find any relevant information on the hybrid dragon.
Passoveloce says, "Webs can be dispatched with fire, which might be a good idea then we could quickly disperse around the walls, though the terrain is still probably difficult and could slow us down a bit. I am also a little concerned about what else might be lurking in the shadows and what other traps might be protecting the part of the Rod. If the guards could be distracted and there are no other traps on the part, I could jump in, grab it and jump out."

Lucas shakes his head, then sighs. "I don't like being a negative nancy, but we try burning the webs and not only whoever does it is bound to draw /immediate/ attention to themselves, but that's another hazard to navigate around, as its not all gonna go up and disintegrate within seconds. And weird as that spider thing is, I doubt it can't get out of there on its own in pursuit of any of us. And then we'll have it and every other cultist **** to deal with that's either attracted to the noise or we'd have to run past to get the heck out of here." The mage quietly conveyed, before crossing one arm over his chest and use it to prop up the other as he rubbed his chin.
"....That said, aside from slightly atypical web based obstacles, I doubt there's any additional guards. Even modified by other minds, it's not a baseline Wot-c move for something set up scenarios in which the mcguffin is even more heavily defended than by a freaking dragon... though that's assuming this whole adventure isn't third party backed."Lucas shuddered and shook his head as if the mere notion felt wrong. "Which I'm gonna hope its not! So, with all that in mind, a giant **** off dragon plus jeremy crawford 'medium' sized spider is all there to be as far as guards, I'm sure. So, unless the rest of you chuckle heads got other ideas, that just leaves us getting in there and fighting the ****er with the door closed behind us, or... some of us distract it pretending to be cultist trying to parlay with it while Passoveloce tries to sneak up and free the rod."
Studying the room, Torunn turns back to the group. "Apologies for my day dreaming of late but I may have a solution." He raises his hand and touches an arcane symbol near the heart of his suit and as the symbols lights up before a small hatch opens. Holding out his hand, a small construct jumps out of the hatch onto his hand. (Artificer Infusions - Homunculus Servant)
"This little guy should be able to sneak up and grab the piece, and I am able to cast my spells through him if required, where I have a few tricks."
"Hmph... hmm... Well... Eh. If nuthin' else, and if'n ya don't mind the risk to it, then by all means~" Is Lucas' rather lackadaisical response. "I mean, Worst case scenario, it'll bare the brunt of whatever comes, and at best case scenario, it actually succeeds. Either way, the risks would be at an all time minimum, and we won't be in any worse a position than what we would've been trying the other things all things considered." With a flamboyant flick of the wrist, the sorcerer than raised a finger in a halting gesture. "That said, I'll be waiting on yonder if that's the case, as I don't fancy catching stray dragon breath in the absolute worse scenario."He cheekily went on whispering, before making his way closer to the center of the lizard stables if it looked everyone else was ready to follow through on the plan.

Passoveloce suggests "OK Toruun, why don't those of us that may be needed in the fight (if we get into one) go into the room and spread out around the wall, you send in your little friend and the rest of us be prepared to distract/destroy the spider and its friend as necessary."Upon agreement, Passoveloce opens the door a crack and peeks through to make sure the situation has not changed inside. If he can see the creatures more or less where they were, he will motion the others to enter, before following himself and closing the door behind him.

”A good plan if the webs do not extend to the walls. If we would have to walk through webs to get into position, I suggest we instead remain outside the room,” responds Corwyn.

The web does extend to the walls on both sides for a total length of about 50 feet north south and stretches across the chamber for a width of 40 feet. The party can go no further than 5 feet into the room before encountering webs - i.e there is a 5 foot wide and 10 foot long section - just inside the doors that is free of the web. If this is not clear pls go look at the players map on DDB - I trust you all
Passoveloce responds to Corwyn "You are right, we cannot move around the walls without getting entangled. Let's think again."
"The sneak approach is unlikely to work, freeing the rod part will take time and will alert the creatures, and if we get caught in the webs we will be at a disadvantage. So the best thing would be to get the creatures to come to us. I think we should have someone with a sharp sword and good armour go in and start to cut the webs free from the walls. this will alert the creatures and attract them to that person, hopefully enabling the rest of us to attack (melee/range/magic) without getting entangled. Once the guards are occupied and the web is being attacked, it should disguise any activity in the middle of the web to retrieve the rod part."
he continues "I am concerned about how we can attack without bunching and leaving us open to AoE, Does anyone have any suggestions?"
Passoveloce then proceeds to prepare his bow for attacks on the spider and friend.

Lucas almost incredulous for a second there, but sighed in relief hearing some reconsiderations. "I mean, if the goal is to get their attention anyways, and said tough guy has the means, might as well hit'em squarely with a bolt or somethin'. That'll rile them right quick."The sorcerer said with a bit of mirth to his voice. "As for dealing with any, as you say A.O.E scenarios, give me a minute and I could take a page out of, uhh, Lemon's book and create an area of safety. If placed well enough, it aughta keep the creatures from squeezing into this room, if'n the goal is to lure them in here."He oftters, but then snapped his fingers and waggled a finger.

But decide quick 'fore any cult bugger comes about to check up on either the dragon or these here lizards mounts."
