Seeing or sensing some measure of confusion or disappointment in Corwyn, Lucas pipes up by saying, "You sure 'bout all that bud? Not to say I'm doubting you, but I halfway figured any scratches along the wall was Torunn's doing? What with his armor scrapping against the walls a bit here and there." He thumbs the dwarf's general direction. "Actually, speaking -- Hey Torunn! Not to come oof as speciest or anything, but do you got that sorta connection with a rock and stone most of yer kin supposedly got? Or have you kind become the proverbial nose blind to that sorta thing since you got into inventing things, like, well, that suit of yours for instance."
Torunn turns to look at Lucas and ponders his question, after a moment responds, "Whilst I myself have never lived underground so often forget about these abilities, let me see." He turns to the wall and puts a mechanical hand upon it.
Bonus action: Stone cunning, tremorsense up to 60ft.
Toruun reaches out and touches the rock. Then the mechanical hand opens and he touches it with his flesh “hmmm” he says before going across the tunnel to the other wall - in which the portal is located - where he touches that. He then comes back to the first wall - i.e. opposite the portal - and touches the wall again. He then turns to the party and says “… there is definitely something or somethings moving behind this wall!”
Passoveloce says, "Let's continue down the corridor in the opposite direction to that which we started and look for doors in that opposite wall as we continue. I will continue to inspect these markings as we progress to see if I can make sense of them." So saying he continues in the direction he has indicated.

Passoveloce leads the party off down the tunnel in the other direction. It doesn’t take long before the entire party spot similar symbols to when they were traversing the tunnel in the other direction. However, after travelling for about half mile they still don’t see any entrances and the symbols are getting further apart.
Lingering a bit longer, Corwyn tries to make out the pattern of the scratches, focusing on either side of the wall opposite the portal. If there is a missing symbol in the repeating pattern on the wall opposite the portal, he traces it on the bare wall where it would fit.

While Corwyn does not recognise or can interpret the symbols he does recognise a pattern. The same symbol, or in some cases group of symbols, are in the same place on the wall in relation to the distance that the party travelled from where they emerged from the portal. Also that the further the party got from where they emerged from the portal the further apart the symbols get!
"So we're just gonna ferget 'bout the whole lurkers in the..."Lucas trailed off there sighing and shaking his head. "Eh, you know what? Nevermind. Let's just hope whatever it is, is just some kind of ancient mechanism, and not a pod of umberhulks waiting to burst through at any moment." Despite voice such concern Lucas smirked as if more amused by the notion than worried while following along once more.
The smirk dies quickly after a few minutes of walking, and by the time the group reaches the half-mile mark again, he's grumbling something about regretting not bringing along a book. "You know what fellas? I'm try somethin'. Might not work, but doesn't hurt to try at this point." Lucas stops by one of the closest symbols, and after fishing around in his pack, pulled out and played on zampona panflute a few notes before tapping the runes, releasing a pulse of magic with each tap.
With that done, he'd look over the symbol once more half hoping it to mean a word or some kind. But if that fails he'd just look to the others and shrug.

"Ah, sonnova-Guys! Ugh, this is so dumb, but listen here! W-we gotta go back. The freaking stimbols-fu-stym, gah! The freaking symbols mark the way to the entrance!"A flustered Lucas explained to the others. "Like I know some of ya kinda already checked, and not saying anyone did a half ass job at it. But considering who we're dealing with, they probably got it warded somehow."He sighs, then began speed walking his way towards the portal; only to stop after a few steps to look back and make sure the others were following suit. "C'mon. We've already wasted enough time. Once we're close I'll see if I can detect anything funky going on and we'll go from there."
Lucas leads the party back to where the portal is and casts his spell. He is then able to see on the wall directly opposite the portal a 10’ wide iron door. On the left hand side of the door he can see six symbols arranged vertically.
Corwyn looks on in amazement as the "wall" he was trying to trace symbols on was actually an iron door! "How did I not feel the difference in texture?" he asks himself aloud.

Lucas curses under his breath and rubs his forehead; but eventually, he'd convey his findings the others as he made his way closer to the door to examine the symbols along its side, tracing fingers along them so he could read them if needed. "That's just the thing with that freaking school of magic. Some of the more potent ones can trick the mind so badly that you can't trust your senses even when the very air you breathe is a toxic mess slowly destroying you bit by bit. But while I have half a mind to get up on a soap box comparing it to the 'evils' of other schools, this is neither the time or place. So, let's see about getting this bad boy open." He said, before glancing back at the others. "'Fore we do though, we prolly aughta have a care going forward. Magical wards can last fer a long while, but that don't mean noones home. So, if ya'll got any fancy tricks to help us go undetected-..." He looks to Torrun. "Which, uh... might be easier said than done..." Lucas shakes his head curtly, then looked over to the others. "But, if ya do, 'ave'm ready."
As the door reveals itself, Torunn whistles quietly to himself in amazement. "Looks like you may come in handy and offer more than just sarcastic comments." Torunn says to Lucas before continuing, "But don't worry about me, I am very aware of the lack of stealth and subtlety to this suit, so I made sure to prepare Invisibility in the event I will require it. On that note, I don have means to open the door but they are not so subtle unless there is no other option."
Torunn scans the group and thinks for a moment before reluctantly holding out his right arm, the suit opens up revealing his scarred and calloused hand. On his left finger is a silver ring with the seal of Gond pressed into it. "Whoever has the least healing potential in this group, take the silver ring on my right hand. It has 10 uses of Cure Wounds that you can use as if you were to cast it but you require no spellcasting knowledge before the magic fades and it requires a recharge."
Once a party member takes the ring, Torunn will indicate he is ready to move on.
OOC: The ring is infused with Lvl 2 Cure wounds cast at my spellcasting ability.
”I have no healing magic,” says Corwyn, “though in combat I am usually otherwise occupied. Still, being able to heal others with magic would be useful.”

OOC: you use an action to cast the spell as if you knew the spell but it uses my modifier. I'll post the ability below.
Spell Storing item:
While holding the object, a creature can take an action to produce the spell’s effect from it, using your spellcasting ability modifier of +5. If the spell requires concentration, the creature must concentrate. The spell stays in the object until it’s been used 10 times, or until you use this feature again to store a spell in an object.
Passoveloce scratches his head as he looks at the symbols. Thinking to himself "Perhaps there is more to this odd Lucas bloke than meets the eye (and ear)." He inspects the symbols, comparing the order in which they appear vertical to the order in which they were etched into the wall of the tunnel.
