Through cooperation, the group makes slow progress. Starting late in the morning, and with a brief pause for a late lunch [a short rest, if you need to take one], you find yourselves finally nearing the cave you had rested in the night before muscles aching, freezing cold, and frankly, tired. However when you get within eyesight of the cave, you realise that a dark shape, similar in size to Nuras, now lays near the entrance. Suddenly, the snow storm begins to pick up, more intense than before.
Danvi, Marakhad, and Talon (who informs Raviel) notice moments later that Signe seems to have disappeared from the group, though looking around, no one can seem to find him.

Signe's disappearance didn't trouble Danvi too much- he merely assumed that the drow had spotted something interesting and had gone to check it out. Danvi squinted at the shape in the cave's entrance. "Nuras, do you know what that is? And does anyone else think that the snow is getting a little too intense?"
Jethro, with his enhanced darkvision from his Devil's Sight will attempt to check the entrance to the cave (or the shadowy silhouette if it isn't actually Nuras)
Nuras squints, trying to make out any detail in the mass of darkness. "Nothing good, I'm afraid, Danvi. Everyone, I'd be advancing ready for combat."
Jethro finds that this far from the cave, his devil's sight won't help him, and even if it did, the snow is the main source of vision impairment, rather than light level.

Talon comes to rest upon Raviel's shoulder as Raviel turns to Marakhad, "that magic you do that helps us with tasks, can you provide this to Talon as I send him to look at what creature is ahead?"
With a nod Marakhad strokes Talon as she mutters a simple prayer, casting Guidance upon the hawk.
Raviel sends Talon ahead to look at what is before them, perhaps to see if they can find Signe, and come back to 'report', if such a word can be used for telepathic communication, what he saw.
Talon does he is asked and flies to encircle over the creature before them straining to see through the wind, looking out for Signe too just in case, and coming back to Raviel's shoulder, relaying mentally what he saw.
Talon Wisdom (Perception) check to see the creature flying within 30 feet of it. Has Guidance for bonus 1d4 and has advantage due to Keen Sight trait. : 19

Upon getting close to the mass of darkness, it is easy enough for Talon to observe that the creature is a dragon, or at least, dragon-like. It's scales are an incredibly dark shade of purple, and it keeps its face hidden from the hawk.
As Talon looks for Signe, he finds it impossible with the heavy snow.

When Talon returns, relaying the concept mentally, Raviel advises the group: "There's a dragon... Or something similar... Up ahead. It's purple. Is there such a thing as a purple dragon?"

(Can Jethro make a knowledge check to know of any purple dragon-like creatures or lords?)
Arcana/Religion: 18/20 (-2 if History/Nature)
Danvi will help Jethro, having potentially overheard something about this when he was studying with the members of his order.
