Will I find grizzled miners boasting of their latest strike? Perhaps a wise old prospector with tales of forgotten veins of ore? Or maybe even whispers of ancient ruins hidden in the surrounding hills?
The air already feels different out here – cleaner, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth. It's a welcome change from the crowded alleys and smoky air of the city. Each step on this trail feels like shedding a bit of the past and stepping towards something new.
Who knows what awaits in Phandalin? Opportunity? Trouble? Maybe just the quiet I was seeking. Whatever it is, I'm ready to find out. The thought of the unknown adventure ahead has a certain thrill to it. Let's see what Phandalin has in store.

Sounds good to me. Maybe you can help me out. I am new to this but really want to get into it. I have been a DM (forever DM some would say) many times but only in person and a few times on Roll20. Any advice would be great.
New to PbP? I haven't done anything on DND beyond before specifically but my suggestion is to establish an amount of time you are willing to wait before you move of from someone. That way you don't stop a scene for months or a combat for weeks because someone isn't posting.
Other than that, DM like normal. Maybe set an amount of text you want for replies if you don't want one liners, and ask for players to say when they want to move on. That last bit is my biggest gripe because there are a lot of times I'll be waiting for players to finish roleplaying a scene only to learn they were stalling/waiting on me as a dm.

Sildar Hallwinter seeks you out, He informs you that, "I have gotten word that the Redbrands have resurfaced. They've seized Phandalin once more." He tells how, after the bloody end of their leader, Glasstaff, the criminal organization had seemingly been dismantled. "But now... now they're back, a shadow falling over the town again. I need you," Sildar needs you, his gaze earnest, "go to Phandalin. Discover what's happening, who is leading them this time, and what their intentions are. The good people of Phandalin are in danger."
