You are all adventurers in the kingdom of Briate. The realm is under siege by hoards of undead and the church cannot keep them all back. Moste of Briate has fallen to the undead hordes commanded by an evil necromancer known as The Lord of Undeath. Because of their dwindiling recources the church has taken to hireing adventurers, such as yourselves, to help fight against the undead. You roam the lands trying to aid the last bastions of humanity resist the siege. Your end goal, bring down The Lord of Undeath. You all begin in the capital, Nearfeather, at the center of the church's power, in the great cathedral of Iilivan. You have come to be hired by the church and are paired up with each other when accepted into their (the church's) ranks.
Looking for about three players to join this campaign. Usage of homebrew is subject to Dungeon Master approval. I average two to three posts a day (variable on weekends). Please DM me if you are interested or have questions.
Starting level is thrird, 2024 rules, and you get your stats by rolling, rerolling anything under eight.
Sounds cool. Mind me joining? I've never been on a play-by-post, but this campaign sounds kinda epic

The beginning of the campaign. This first part is for all of you (insert your name wherever you see 'you').
It is a gloomy day in the capital city of Nearfeather. You have gathered with the sea of bodies near the great cathedral of Iilivan to hopefully be hired by the church as adventurers. When the time comes you enter the monolithic building and speak with a bishop. The bishop deems you worthy of service and directs you to a side room where you will be paired up with other adventurers. You follow her directions down a dark, though finely adorned, corridor. As you enter the room you were directed to you see two other souls entering at different doors at the same time. You all sit and look at each other, unsure what to make of one another.

Seren (pronounced Sair-en; ser rhymes with hair, and en like ten without the T)
Seren enters the room with hope in his heart. With all the dangers facing the city, he was no longer be content working in the libraries, reading books, researching, and making notes that could be found useful. It was time he took his faith and lessons and applied them to more directly improve the lives of those around him.
As the others entered the room also, his heart gives a beat, are these friends or competition to become an adventurer?
Ruven steps into the room slowly. His face remains emotionless as his eyes analyze everything in the room. The others see a tall elf with black hair and brown eyes. Over his heavy armor is a dark cloak purposely covering a sword that seems abnormally dark with gold trim. On his back is a shield that looks as if it has seen endless conflict.
For a minute the others are unable to tell what is going through Ruven’s mind. At that moment it seems as if Ruven realized his expression and without warning his face softens.
“Well met friends. The name is Ruven and this is blaze.” (Ruven points to his sword.) “I carry a shield but don't expect me to be running around trying to protect you. I have never been very good at protecting others.”
He simply wishes to rejoin his parents in the next life, but would rather take some of the undead who slew them along with him. Revik casts a glance across the room. As the other adventurers enter, he scans each, analyzing them. He is ready for the adventure that awaits him and these new allies.

“Hello Ruven. I am Seren. Luckily for you this shield (he points to his own) is used to protect and this here is my mace, which I call… my mace. I’m not great with it, but can use it if needed. Honestly I’m more here to keep everyone alive while we go fight the undead horde.”
Ruven laughs for a second before giving a slight bow.
“I feel much safer having your mace with us. May we have the opportunity to kill many undead together.”
Ruven seems a little confused by the way this meeting was set up. From looking around earlier how many entrances are there? Also from Ruven’s knowledge of the past does he know about any trials normally used to test new individuals? (History Roll: 21)
As Ruven peers around he sees a total of six doors leading off this room. Upon studying his enviorment he also recalls that a priest usually comes to give the first mission, which will test the party and make sure they are worthy to take on more vitale roles. As Ruven makes these realizations and the other party members chat a door opens and in steps an young priest. "My name is Heiter." He says." I am here to present you with your first task. You must go to the town of Livingston and help them deal with the undead in that area. If you are sucessful than you will be fully instated and begin to recieve payment for your missions. I wish you the best of luck!" He leaves the room through the same door he came by, leaving you all alone with this request.

Ruven seems shocked by the speed at which the priest left.
“Well it seems they don't have much time to tell us about the request. I am ready to leave if you two are. The faster we get to Livingston the faster we can become adventurers. What way should we go?”
Ruven will try to pick the exit in the same direction as Livingston. Ruven attempts to remember any information he can about Livingston.(History Roll: 11)
“There are 6 doors, I expect a few more initiates will be joining us soon. Let us wait for a moment before heading out. I am eager to eliminate the undead at Livingston.”
he will also try to remember anything he knows about the place. (History 10)
With your history check, and backround, you recall that this building is full of secret passages and entire rooms in the walls.
As you all wait around two more doors open and a rather fearsome looking orc and a dwarf with a bright red beard walk in. They seem to also be adventurers hired by the church.

The orc wears little in the way of clothing and no armor. A large axe is strapped to his back. He stands 7'6" tall and is covered in muscle. He enters with a giant grin unbefitting an orc.
"Ey! Look! Dey haz more friends in 'ere! Ello new friendses!"
Gorog gives an overenthusiastic wave to everyone in the room
The Dwarf is wearing armor made of red scales, but not having a weapon on him. He is stands about 2 and half feet shorter than the Orc standing next to him. Which he looks a little uncomfortable standing next to.
"As long as they sound better than rocks being smashed on the side of a box, I'm sure we will be friends." *Glares at Gorog* "Hello Friends, I am Kildrak."
“It seems you were right Seren, we have some new members.”
Ruven waves back to the orc.
“Are you guys attempting to become adventurers also? My name's Ruven and we were on our way to Livingston to help them with their undead problem. We were just about to leave.”
"SHORT BEARD GUY! If your head was but a little shorter I'd remove it, But I still don't think you would know your brainless"
Slaps the orc on the back
"This one has about the brain power of a rock, But when you make him mad, you had better find a Rock to hide under, We will come with you if you'll have us."

Interested. I’ll play a cleric since this is an undead campaign. Rolling stats, not rerolling 1s, will reroll if any are < 8.
