The young blonde lathanderite rejoins with the others and nods. "I too would want to visit Madame Eva now but I feel I should check in on the troubled mother down the road first." She says, hoping there would be time for that too.
Crisaryn seems to sigh silently as others suggest another stop before going to locate Mother Eva. "I suppose we can go check on this woman before going. We still should have plenty of time left in the day. I think?"
Ireena nods at them, you mean Mad Mary? She normally hides away in the daytime only coming out for supplies. At night she calls for her lost daughter scared that Strahd may have taken her. I can show you the way, though I fear there is not much that you can do there in the day.
Ismark, it will take you two bells to walk to the Vistani camp at Tser Pool, do you intend to stay there the night? Our house is still at your service. By his voice you realise that Ismark fears another visit from Strahd at night.
His arms are heavy, and his chest is tight. 'Tis not the effects of the hunt. Nay, if anything, the feeling of death returning to that which should remain dead is incredibly cathartic. As with anything, it's the effects of time. He's not as fast as he was, nor as strong or sharp. His body burns with effort. The majority of the aftermath he spends stoically recovering in the backdrop.
At the suggestion of moving onward, his gaze is sharp once more and he readies himself as such. This place... would not be a temple of Lathander for many moons to come, merely a desecration to repair with time. Having cleaned his blade and taken a drag of water from his skin, the old man is once more ready to proceed.
He merely nods at the mention of continuing. He realizes he could've played a greater role in restoring order, finding composure in letting the younger crowd take the lead. Indeed, some may be years his senior, but there is energy in youth, no matter the race. Besides, there would be time to lead a charge later, shouting prayer and offering wisdom later. With every battle, he feels his memory and his spirit returning. Tis like an old itch, lost in his own youth. The feeling is both revitalizing and biting, nostalgic and apprehensive. His gut is twisted with the anticipation for what may come, but this encounter has steeled him. He is ready.
Rhianne watched as Murdock readied himself. She leaned out and touched his arm. The next time you come to the Village of Barovia this chapel will be Hallowed, hopefully with a new cleric. You have my word on it. As we grow older we loose the speed of youth but gain wisdom. Today I was nearly bitten by a vampyr, I was slower than normal. Fatigue and age catches up to the best of us.
Fair well sir Paladin and remember that you have allies if you need help.
"Fellow travelers, if Mad Mary," Crisaryn says the name a bit disdainfully, "is not likely to greet us by day, then it seems we should just go to Tser Pool. I'm not sure if the Vistani would allow us to stay somewhere out there for the night. But if we want any chance to get back by tonight, we should go right away."
"If that would get us there quicker," Valaer agreed, quietly eager to get to the Vistani keep and see Madam Eva. He does not say it aloud, but he would be happy to camp there if need be.
"I believe we will be passing by Mary's house on our way out of the village, let me just stay and knock on her door. If she won't open we can go on, won't take long either way I can assure you." The young blonde priestess says wth a reassuring smile to the skeptical sorceress. "And I'm sure Illmirth will be charming enough to convince the Vistani to allow us to camp with them." She adds with a good-natured grin to the drow.
Ismark, let's go and see the sisters, they have horses and carriage at the Tavern. It used to be an Inn so still has room for stabling. Sorvia is the one to ask.
I have my own horse back at the house, but father didn't have a carriage, he never saw the need for it.
Unless there are any objections, Lorelei would knock on Mary's door as the companions pass by her house, calling out to her also, hoping she will accept some comfort.
"I think we should use the daylight hours to travel to the Vistani camp. We can see how that plays out for time. Perhaps we can get back before the sun sets, if not, I'm sure we can find a safe place to sleep with them."

Ismark ducks into the Tavern to speak to Sorvia. He wants to hire horses for the party, and the sisters bred sure footed ponies stout enough to pull a wagon. He pays for the pony hire for a day, at 1 GP. Sorvia came outside and gestured to the party to follow her. She saddles the ponies with Vistani saddles, comfortable blankets and the decorative tassels meant to keep the evil eye away. Tser Pool was an hours ride away. They had enough time to knock at Mad Marys to let Lorelei comfort the bereaved mother.
Given the timing with the horses, Crisaryn agrees that they could stop in to see if Mad Mary would respond before they go. She will join the others to check in on her.
Lorelei knocked at the door to Mad Marys house, there was no answer but the door sprang open. Lorelei could hear what sounded like a soft lullaby from above.
A little bit spooked by the door springing open by itself, Lorelei gives the others a brief unsure glance before cautiously stepping inside, calling for Mary as she slowly moves towards the soft lullaby from above.
Mary did not reply to Lorelei, but the lullaby was now being sung by a broken voice wavering up and down. The voice comes from upstairs. She sounds lost in her sorrow.
